LYRICS:
It's a blitz when they're hearing us
a riff so serious
in a total eclipse
am i clear enough
vocals skipping to the kick drums
kick back with a six pack and a big bud
do shows and we get love
even though there is friction
some don't wanna listen
there's a hole in the system
try get to grips
i'll catch your fist and snap your wrist
music is dope in my veins
can you handle this
so sick i need psycho-analysis
i'm an anarchist
far from a pacifist
we rep Hacktivist - influential
with tunes so powerful
set the beginning of change
It's a blitz when they're hearing us
fights break out because of us
chaos we're tearing up
we're down to the next show and it's kicking off
can't get more real than this
aim high like the pyramids
i'm a badboy lyricist
grooves so tight are you feeling this
haters step back coz you're taking the piss
ain't got no time for your shit
we cause a commotion
we're smashing the scene
we're drawing in closer
the crowds will follow us
sick of the mundane

#Hacktivist #UnlikeUs - Hudba
There are not many metal bands out there with a 6 string bass and a 8 string guitar and 2 rap dudes... with great lyrics. I really like this band.
djent against the machine
Guerrilla Djent
My machine to nuke the core with an heat up bomb wich diggs by itself
이 세끼 웃기네
XD 👍
I finally landed on some words to describe this sound: "P.O.D. meets Periphery"
That bass line is 90% the reason I follow this band
wow... this song was about 10 years ahead of its time, could totally see this being released today
Fr it’s crazy, and it’s a shame how they’ve gone downhill from here like their new stuff really ain’t it
Italian rapper/trapper Ghali just released this year a song called “Walo”, where he raps on a drum base that has similar vibe and rhythm to this one. in an interview earlier this year he declared “no one’s ever rapped on a drum pattern like this”. How cute.
Agreed
@@Max-cx2dl 👌👆🤘
why does this band get so much hate? this shit is amazing
+Devin Motionless I haven't actual heard anyone hate on them
@@bowers009 i have but its mainly from the type of metal head that believe the only is 80s thrash metal and anything onwards is trash
I'm glad I like any genre, there's a lot of music to explore and listen to everyday.
Eric Draven true and those metal heads are the narrow minded posers unwilling to explore the potential Metal has .. they are actually the real pussies while they keep stating otherwise.. what a shame!!
Where is the hate
I wish people would stop hating on the rap. Look, there are hundreds of metal band nowadays and they're all pretty similar, the genre needs something new just to give it some diversity. Hacktivist are this diversity. Plus they are fucking amazing live.
Candiria did all of this 10+ years ago, and did it much better. Check it out.
This might be some of the most unique music I've heard in along time. It's fucking sick
No matter what kind of vocals go over it, you can't deny a sick groove.
I thought that no matter what kind of groove backs the track, the vocals should matter?
In either case, these guys are killing it on all fronts.
Fully agreed man. Metal hasn't exactly been doing well these days (unfortunately) and hybrids like this will be the saviour of the entire genre. We are in the midst of a musical revolution my friends!
I just found this 11 years late.
This shit is still relevant today.
This band's been around since 2011? I've never heard of Hacktivist until now and this song came out when I was 16 goin' on 17 back in 2012 damn bro I need to catch up on these rap metal bands and Hacktivist is the most badass band I ever heard they're fuckin' awesome and they're an English rap metal band from the UK that's what's up
totally agree m8
You they're sick. They bossed reading fam
Tyler Watson Did you ever find any similar bands? I'm obsessed with this sound.
Korn has a similar sound as this band
Becka Stuff DVSR from Australia have a similar sound and style.
these riffs are so tasty!
This reminds me of the early LP or Limp Bizkit albums. (Meteora, Hybrid Theory, TDBY, etc.) But this is just a lot heavier, subtracting the use of heavy vocals. Even so, this is fucking awesome. Definitely buying this album. \m/
Love this track, that palm muted mashup at the end is epic! Glad the album is ready, can't wait for the RELEASE!
Set the beginning of change!
Volumes + Foreign Beggars = Hacktivist
I like how they mix Progressive Metal and Rap metal!Sounds awesome! It's like mixing Dream Theather and Stuck Mojo...:D
This isn't progressive metal!
Joel Munaro
Put rap and metal together and you're progressing metal.
Joel Munaro
how the fuck is it not? they djent and they've got progressive metal-like rhythm...
@@trapOrdoom odd rythms doesn't mean it's progressive it's dj0nt
Murat KORKMAZ this was 5 years ago mate. Agreed, this is djent, and odd times def don’t make prog. But it definitely adds to the progressive flavour.
The rising of hip hop into the djent tho? I’d argue is fully progressive.
What else could possibly be missing? Tell me.
0:55 :
PsycoBananasist!
A banana can swap on my pants of swift
Forgettable ahaha that’s all I hear when I listen to it now 😂😂👌🏻
When the song started I was like "cool Djent riff, quite nice atmosphere... Some standard stuff, but it's good." then the vocals came in and I was like "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAT", an undefined type of what. And after the chorus was over, I was in love!
The breakdown at the end of this song is fricking awesome.
This is so good dude! MESHUGGAH + TOOL + HACKTIVIST + DEADLY CIRCUS FIRE together on the same bill would make the show of the century!
Tool sucks
I've had the longest hate-relationship to rap since the dawn of time, but this thing right here, forces me to reconsider. Both genres (djent and rap) are so rhythm oriented that I wonder why it hasn't been invented before. Stellar job!
The guitar tone, bass tone, and drum equalizing is PERFECT.. let alone the rapping is top notch. Definitely one of my new favourite bands.
You guys need more songs!
I grew dreads primarily to head bang to music like THIS!
Oh shit why did I find them just now
i love that guitar!!
Great Band ! More of THAT !
This here... this right here, is real fucken music.
The best Rap sub-category : Djent-Rap
Rent or Djap??
these guys have created one of the biggest movements of music. so good.
The og line up I remember getting into this and them. I’ll never forget it.
0:55 I keep hearing " Bananasist" lol
OMG TRUE HAHHAA
" of Analysis "
All what they need is some features with some aweasome screamers like Phil of Whitechapel
And Phil's lyrical themes, toned down a little, would fit perfectly here.
Dat MYM logo...
I'm kind of sick of screaming :/ it seems to played out and trendy at times. It's nice to hear something not screaming in a genre like this
Andrew Bielec Saying screaming is trendy in metal is like saying singing is trendy in 95% of all music.
at least with singing you have more of a range of sound than just Frys, Squeals, Growls, inhales
Glad I found this group, sick music and vocals!!
This dude had the best guitar tone and riffs IMO.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
morjes
morjes
P.O.D plus RATM plus Periphery? HA! I'll take it.
this song gets my juices flowing
Dat groove.
I like the rap, but that's what's awesome about music, there's something for everyone. If this isn't for you, cool, just don't bash the music.
It's like Heart of a Coward picked up a UK Mike from LP and killed everything.
Drummer in this band is ace...makes the groove more than possible
Great band....very innovative...been rocking this for years
I used to hate all this rap metal shit, now i'm hearing this and somehow loving it. Whaaaat?
Fuck I think I like it.
exactly my response
there is hope in music. pretty glad i came across this band.
Finally, I see the hype over killswitching. That final riff was fantastic!
999,666 views, this pleasures my mild OCD.
1,008,237 XD
we are the lyricists i just took a piss dun dun dun dun doom doooooom
I love the riffs
This will always be a classic djent song - 2017 and still listening.
Fucking love Hacktivist
Is it harder to write rap lyrics to a song with odd time signatures? I mean, common rap are supposed to work on 4/4, i don't know how they wrote rap lyrics to fit weird time signatures.
Lol. This is 4/4 with a syncopated rhythm over it.
ShadowMassacr13 Yes, but maybe it isn't so easy to make the 4/4 lyrics sound good along with the other time signature(s) of the song.
Mariana Perreira There is one time signature, it's just syncopated, syncopation doesnt mean it has multiple sigs, that's a polymeter, but nonetheless I get what you mean.
ShadowMassacr13 Is this why it feels silly to call this genera "math metal" instead of "djent"?
Mariana Perreira Well, math metal would be a song based on an aspect of math, or a number, like counting notes in Pi, (3,1,4,1,5,9,2,6), whereas this is some kind of Progressive Metal or, if you like, Djent.
It'd be so cool of one of them learnt to sing properly and one to scream, but both kept the rap skill. Anyone else agree?
Matt G then they'd be the same as every other djent band.
Matt G no because then it would be like every other band 😒 I prefer just rap and djent don’t like screaming plus the screaming outs most people off
these guys are actually really great live!!
Love the outro!
hacktivist = elvis. think about it.
Care to explain?
TheRealSonicYouth Elvis was a white guy who made black music... And Hacktivist's singer is a black guy making white music? At least that's my guess. Not that you have to be any race to like any kind of music, but most metal bands are full of white dudes
***** buts hes rapping?
Oh my you are so right!!! Hacktivist is ELVIS....
***** Did you stop reading halfway through my comment?
those cymbals need to be louder especially the china it needs to cut through more. Brilliant song though
Timfy works at EAS studios in MK (or has done to my recollection) lol i think he'd know what he's doing :P agree it's a sick song though!
I can tell he knows what he is doing the production of this is actually very nice I would just say the cymbals need to be more prominent just a constructive criticism no more
I hear what your saying man :D tis all good!
hacktivist killin it
This genre is far from dead.
What is this? A djent version of Nu Metal with some industrial influences thrown in? I sat threw the old Nu Metal in the 90s and early 2000s... Hopefully, this doesn't become a trend. I wish Hacktivist all the best, they make Nu Nu Metal that is listenable, but they could open a can of worms that gives us a new Limp Bizkit.
***** Limp Bizkit were huge and sold fucking millions of records, how is that not bad? Fred Durst is a douche
I think that would be a great thing! with all the shit out there its cool and refreshing to hear a band put a heavier more technical spin on nu-metal with the modern djent kind of sound.
Screw you, man. Limp Bizkit kicked as and they helped bring metal into the spotlight for a while.
Come around again when you can talk about KoRn and such.. Limb Bizkit was a trend runner not a bloody pioneer .. They just rode the wave but brought nothing to the table really
for the anti rap people: just shut up. hacktivist is about a message, like the real rap. they have a very strong message that you can learn from. You won't learn nothing on songs about dragons and satan lol
But muh dragon lords and satan senpais.

What message? This song kicks ass, love the rap, love the tune... So not hating on it. But seriously message? They are saying how different their music is from other music that's about it.
The Carpenter Í'm not saying not any of their songs have no message but this song no (whch is what i was responding to), and not everything has to have a message. Sometimes it's just nice to listen to a catchy tune with out some dude preaching in your ear telling you the obvious.
Dat EVERYTHING
Grime and metal, nice combo in this.
my username
Using the word "haters" in a song like this makes me cringe. I don't mind the rap side of it, I think it actually is a nice change and they do it quite well, but why do they have to bring the tough-guy attitude along with it? Regardless, I like the song.
Couldn't agree more, I don't mind the audio but watching them rap is just so painful...
I agree but who cares, it's their style
Yeah I know man, it's not important really, gotta accept the music for what it is or not listen to it :)
I think it would sound better if they added some screams in it. I love the Djent sound of it thou. The way the top string rings out in that deep thickness...awesome!!! Makes me want a 7 string guitar
***** 7 strings are fun as heck to play, I plan on upgrading to an 8 soon
Super riff in the Chorus
saw them live this year i did not know them, there where 3 stages playing this blew right trough the sound of the others so epic
This would have far more impact if it'd have some dynamics instead of some mastering fuck destroying it by compressing the shit out of it. Digital clipping all over the shop. No low end punch in that kick at all - just noise. What a shame.
Popular music takes the piss, this is a really good song but I bet this sounded so much better before they mastered it and compressed the life out of it.
I would like to see you doing better.
MrLmaoLover considering I work as a sound engineer for living, I'd absolutely love to be given the chance to fix it. Gladly! Why are you taking it so personally? Were you the mastering engineer for this song? If so, I'll give you some pointers. If not, then you should share my frustration if you like the song but would like to hear it with better sound quality.
You're saying this music is just noise... ,lots of palm muting and compressing the sound, it's typical in this style, and he's playing the way he played in Heart Of A Coward. I like the sound but many don't, and music will always be like that, someone saying that it sucks, others saying that it should sound better and
and people that actualy like the music goddamit, if you dont like it, don't play it.
MrLmaoLover I'm sorry, you have completely misunderstood me. I love this music and the playing. I am talking about the mixing and mastering of the recording, not how their instruments sound lol. As I stated in the first post, I am blaming the Mastering Engineer.
I read here some metal purists. I think you troos kvlt suck. If in metal history musicians didn't try new things, it would be dead by now. What is the problem mixing rap with it? It's not evil? Not everything in metal is to sound evil. This band is about opening conscience to political issues, and since I am left wing activist, I can identify myself to them. Ok, maybe they have some influences from nu metal bands, like limp biskit, linkin park, wtv... but what is the problem? Don't they have a way better sound?
If it isn't about Satan or gore it's not b00tal or true kvlt! How dare someone make a song with meaningful lyrics!
I'm really glad that they're trying something different and not caring what the br00tal kiddies think. Metal is all about not caring about how others perceive you and this band is doing that perfectly.
Jason Blaha Fitness You're acting like other bands dont have idiotic one or two liners sometimes. Gtfo
Is that a Skervesen Raptor I spy? Every time I hear or see a Skervesen guitar it make me want one more and more
quite amazing ... Vans Warped Tour Berlin ... seems i need to be there now!
Anyone know if there's an instrumental version of this? I really like the song but the rapping just isn't for me. No offense to them or anyone who likes it, I just don't particularly like it.
You know what I kinda take back what I say. I'm digging it. I'd still think an instrumental version would be cool but I can still listen to this.
Beards Are Metal Yeah it takes a few listens.
Wombat Sceptre Yea it took about 3 listens
Cameron Losch from Born of Osiris put up a link to show people the breakdown, and of course I loved it. So I just listened to the breakdown, because I wasnt much of a fan of the rap. But then I listened to the whole song once or twice, and then Elevate a few times, then False Idols and yeah by then it was loving it.
Wombat Sceptre Yea I've listened to the EP a lot the past week. I definitely feel like i wouldn't like the rapping if they weren't British though. Their accents just give it a flare for me I guess.
the rap vocals/culture bits is probably the nicest thing to perceive inside a otherwise well known formula... nice catch...
heart of a hacktavist
my all time favourite song from these guys
macabre unit t shirt! great! deep dubstep rules!
Yessir! It's a beautiful thing when one genre meets another and they go great together like buds and suds.
This band is fucking original. They mix really heavy guitars with rap style singing.
Never in my life would i have thought I would have heard this style of music... I like it..
Dat TONE
seeing them at download, CANNAE FUCKIN WAIT
This is the most unique piece of music I've heard in many years.
The end drums were so fucking eargasmic.
Such a powerful sound. Would really like to see them live.
I gotta admit, I think these guys look cool while they play lol. I like how the one rapper always stares devilishly into the camera.
was surrised this one wasnt redone for the album cause its so good
It most certainly is! Much harder to put into words than to just comprehend while listening.
...holy shit...that fucking first guitar riff caught my ears
So glad I found this
Definitely!
guys... amazing sound!
Finally a new element of heavy hip hop!!!
You guys are amazing!!!
first song i hear from them and I'm sold man
Sooooo HEAVY! I'm not gonna lie, I'm loving this. Only rap-rock fusion in ages worth listening to.
these guys and periphery need to make a song together! epic!
rly, best song i ever heard
That is just great song!!
Rock for People 2013!! Can´t wait!!
djent + rap = awesome !!!!!
salute from north borneo :)
