    Have been working my way through your tutorials and even though I’ve been working with polymer clay for 4 years now I’m finding them so informative…it’s good to go back to basics and really think about the techniques so you understand what’s going on and can adapt to get the effect you’re looking for. Thanks so much for making the time to do these, Dona, your experience shines through 🙏

    Love the refreshers for me. I made clay in the 90’s when it was popular. Maybe helpful hint to not pick up the wrong side of blade. Paint the edge with a bright color? Thank you.

    • @DonnaKatoArt
      @DonnaKatoArt  Před rokem +1

      Hi! Yes, that might do the trick. I try to always grip the blade on the sides so even if I do accidentally pick it up wrong, I never cut myself! Cheers😊❤️

    Hi Donna. I watched a tutorial of Fiona Abel Smith. She suggested that to eliminate the uneven peak of clay when rolling it through the pasta machine …. She turns her clay piece each time it’s run through. Meaning that the first pass
    she runs through with the
    peak facing the back of the machine. Next pass she turns the clay so the peak is facing the front of the machine. This seems to control the unevenness of the ends of the clay. Thought it was another interesting tidbit of information.

      I tend to flip the sheet around but I think it’s just going to happen, the sides spread out but the middle has no where to go but up! I guess I don’t think about it much, anymore. Fiona is very good, very talented lady and very nice, too. Hugs! ❤️😊

    Hello donna! I am a complete newbie to polymer clay and have enjoyed watching this video finding the process very cool! I do wish I had more information though. What do you do with the skinner sheet once it is as you wanted to be? How do you use it? Many thanks. Best. M

      So, you can use Skinner Blend sheets as backgrounds but usually I use them in canes. I will try to do some canes using them soon so you can see.❤️

      Hi! You can. Ix as long as the curing temps are the same or close. I know Premo does have a Magenta color so you should be able to get it. I donuse those products so I don’t know how they work together. The souffle is a ? For me. It might be a little softer than regular Premo? Cheers, D

      Donna’s Clay is a really good brand as well! I have found that it’s strong and doesn’t pick up my fingerprints as much! ❤

    What does a skinner blend mean?

    • @DonnaKatoArt
      @DonnaKatoArt  Před 3 měsíci

      The Skinner Blend is named after the woman (Judith Skinner) who figured it out and shared it with us. It's the way to make sheets of seamless color gradation!
