    Good job again Tyler.
    between my back and long since broken tail bone that sits bout 90* to my spine I doubt I will ever ride off road at any kind of speed, but that doesn't mean I don't wish I could go out and play on some stuff like that in the Bronco or in a CORE series truck. That gravel road I went out on in January (video is on here) would be fun to take at speed in something with more power and better suspension.
    I've actually driven on similar stuff while out hunting a couple times and I will tell you that other than body positioning you have to learn a lot of the same stuff in a 4x4 as on a bike. Reading the terrain and knowing when to throttle out and when to back off kind of transfers over. Especially in a short wheel base like my Bronco or the 1966 FJ40 with 400hp and a fiberglass body that we took out hunting last time we went. That thing sucked, it was like riding a spring board, the stock springs are far too stiff for the little weight of a topless fiberglass body.Really felt a lot like being on a bike with the amount of throttle control you had to handle and how you were sitting right above the rear tires.

    Another great vid and great advice. Wish I had seen it as a refresher before running the DS/Enduro route at Desert 100 in Odessa, WA yesterday! Actually, I put most of those techniques into good use yesterday anyway, especially standing and leaning forward. That technique alone is a ride-saver. My bad habit is I grip the bars too tightly and my bike's suspension could really use some help (KL250 Sherpa). Plus, I've found my bars could be 1" higher to make standing just a bike more comfortable and natural feeling.
    Hey Tyler, how about a vid on negotiating tight, single-track trails on a DS bike?

    • @eveRide
      @eveRide  Před 9 lety

  • @panda6548
    @panda6548 Před 9 lety

    The whoops that frustrate me are the tight deep uneven whoops. Ones that are deep enough to swallow your bike but soo close together where one wheel can be at the bottom and your other wheel is close to the top on the next/previous whoop. After a mile or so my knees are always rubbery as all hell and ready to give out.

    I do a lot of the opposite, but it seems to work for me. I stand up over the pegs and move my weight a little back and stay in a lower gear at higher revs, but also move my weight as necessary to keep the bike balanced. Faster is better though by far!

    • @eveRide
      @eveRide  Před 9 lety

    @88namiller Před 8 lety +1

    Hi there. I've been enjoying your videos. They're well produced, entertaining, and helpful. So thanks for that.
    I have a request for something maybe a bit different. I live in Mexico and I bought my first motorcycle about four months ago. It's a 125cc Honda. It's pretty much the same as the old CB 125s except it's new. I bought it as my main form of transportation, but after watching videos and reading stories I want to go on adventure rides. Not just road trips but I want to have some fun in the dirt too. Here's the thing. I can't afford to buy another bike. My bike is a road bike with about four and a half inches of suspension travel in front and about three inches in the back. It's not made for the dirt. But I don't want to let something as trivial as money (or a lack of it) stop me from having fun in the dirt and going on some real adventures. So my request is this: I wonder if you could make a video or some videos for people like me. Can you show my what a tiny road bike with short suspension travel and some dual sport tires ( call it a scrambler if you want) can do? Could you give me some tips on modifying it for the dirt and riding it in the dirt? I would love to see video of a bike small road like mine in the dirt. Theses bikes aren't sold in the U.S. anymore so I'm not sure how you could get a hold of one. But if you could make a video like that or if you know someone who could that would be super cool and it would help me to get out there and ride in spite of having "The wrong bike". If it's not something you could do then, of course, I totally understand and I might just have to save up for a camera and try to do it myself.
    Thanks a bunch. Have a nice day!

      +Nick Miller Nick, I LOVE that idea! I'll run the idea by my friend Mr. Duhfactor (he's the one who redid both my DRZ and KLR) and see if we could make a video like that. It would be a really fun project, and I think it would help a lot of people! Thanks!

    My arch nemesis, the useless, unnecessary, most annoying terrain feature in the world.... The whoop. I need to find an easily accessible "semi" safe whoop section here this summer and hit it 1,000 times. Maybe then it won't be so bad. I also need to lose 100lbs, both of those things combined would probably make them much more doable.

      ColoradoDualSport have you hit the 717's in Divide? Whoops all day long. Much fun.Huge group meetup at rainbow falls next Saturday (18Apr, 1000am). Families and such, so all levels. (I'm still getting used to my 450, so still kinda slow)

      Gavinsight Fourthamendment I'm not sure about the top five seats, but I've absolutely loved my Seat Concepts seat. I've found many communities on facebook that have been awesome for dual sport and adventure riding. I really like International Brotherhood of Adventure Riders.

    Solid info and a well done vid as usual. I quickly discovered my KTM 640 ADV is way to soft to skim sand whoops. One thing I have contemplated is making some of these things. czcams.com/video/gPyg20KnP7I/video.html

    The voice over is unbearable. Sounds like you are reading a story to a class of first graders. Decent vid otherwise.
