    We enjoy sharing our knowledge of motorcycles and riding tips to help all riders so they can get comfortable with their bikes. Today we bring you a new How To on braking. Braking is a fundamental that is often over looked when it comes to motorcycle confidence and control.
    In this video Lance Coury is riding his 2013 Harley Davidson Streetbob to show you how to be alert and able to stop as fast as possible. Lance's bike has a single disk front brake and has no ABS. Keep in mind bikes with ABS will react different, but the method should stay the same.
    Lance is a professional motorcycle rider and has been riding since he was 4 years old. This was preformed on a closed course. When you are practicing anything new, ride at your own pace and take your time.
    Thank you for watching.

    Thank you for great video, ✌🏽⚡️ Over in UK, a few years ago I was told by bike instructor to use both brakes into 70/30 but I always get confused on which brake to apply 70/30. A couple days ago, I was thinking about this to practise again in the parking area to remind myself before you released this video. Great mind think alike! ✌🏽 once again. Your input as alway is valuable. Appreciate you’all as alway. ✌🏽💯⚡️💯 #brraapp 💨💨

    Thanks. Excellent video with extremely important information. Having our skills put into words does help reinforce said skills. I was a bit surprised that the bike stayed straight and did not lift the rear tire using the front brake only. I am assuming that at 50mph, just using the front brake would make you go into a stoppie. Could you also bring a video for an ABS bike, especially with linked brakes?

    Great video and that's RIGHT! You can tell these guys that have only been street riders when they're out there riding around fully gipped on both sides and not touching the levers. MX guys have at least one finger on each lever at all times! I also think the lever reach is all wrong on the stock HD levers, but I have big hands.. I tried riding without my index fingers on the levers just for the hell of it to see what world these people are living in... and it felt totally alien to me lmao.

    Good video can you do a video on engine braking?

    • @THRASHIN
      @THRASHIN  Před 2 lety +1

      I’m not a huge “engine braking” rider. Rather burn brake pads then a clutch and trans. Obviously I down shift at moments as I’m slowing down. But I never really on the engine for stopping. That’s my style and preference. And I’m sure many riders have different styles. No knock to them, just how I ride. Cheers! Thanks for stopping by.

  • @Mordorer
    @Mordorer Před 2 lety

    Does down shifting help? Or is it better to just pull the clutch in and basically coast to a stop? I feel better about downshifting while pressing both front a rear brakes, just feels more in control.

    • @THRASHIN
      @THRASHIN  Před 2 lety +1

      It can be rider preference. I feel to safely come to the fastest stop for me would be clutch it. If I’m slamming gears and brakes, increases my chances of stalling and going into a slide that is harder to fix. Just my preference. Not saying either is better or right or wrong. I’d rely on my brakes to slow me down rather then my clutch and gears. Just what I like

    • @Mordorer
      @Mordorer Před 2 lety

      @@THRASHIN I trust your opinion I’m going to practice that more often. Thanks man.

    • @chevyon37s
      @chevyon37s Před 2 lety +1

      Downshifting CAN help, but you’re still limited by your rear tire’s traction which the rear brake can already over come the rear tire’s traction. For emergency braking, clutch in, and using both brakes will net you the best reaction time and shortest stopping distance.
