I absolutely love BRIDEAR and this song is amazing. being a huge prog fan, I grew up with bands like RUSH, YES, DREAM THEATER, SPOCK's BEARD etc. etc., it is amazing to hear them branch out and do something like this. They have another song "Side of Bullet" off of Aeigis of Athena that is an amazing epic prog song also. AYUMI is the guitarist on the right, since she joined the band I have enjoyed their music more and more. She is a creative force on the writing side and an amazing versatile guitarist. I love when she does a lot of her bluesy metal stuff. She can play any style and has been around for a while. I remember seeing Saki (Mary's Blood / Nemophila Saki) pick Ayumi as one of the young guitarists that for the shows she does with Show Ya's Naon Yaon (OMG I know i screwed that up) BRIDEAR I think is actually stronger with MOE than they have been before. NATSUMI on the drums is freakin amazing, very strong drummer. Haru's bass lines are always fun but usually a bit low in the mix so they often get lost. The BRIDEAR CZcams channel has some isolated drum, bass and guitar vids worth checking out. IMO Kimi's vocals are so unique, full of energy, passion and soul. I love her Japanese and English vocals. She stands out to me as one of those things that some will love or not. I love her. KIMI and HARU founded BRIDEAR and have endured many lineup changes over the years, they have been around for 10 years now, as long as Band-Maid and still ready to break out. I think their record label holds them back, but hopefully they will continue to endure and break out huge one day. I love these ladies and hope to see them live someday even if I have to drag my ass over to Japan. I fully support them as best I can. I strongly recommend continuing to check out more MVs and songs by them. I love that they are also experimenting in different styles and not just churning out the same sounds. Their albums are fantastic.

If I were to make an all-Japanese "Desert Island Discs", this song would be on it. So different from anything else I know by any Japanese band - a prog-metal masterpiece.

I love this song. It's almost eight minutes long and I wish it was longer. That instrumental section is on another level. Great work. Ayumi is the guitarist on the right.

Progressive metal Bridear. Such a great song. And yes Haru the bassist does the harsh vocals now. Such a voice from a very small package

Such a great song from such a great band. A band that deserves a lot more recognition than they ever received every step of the way along their decade of existence so far. One of my top favorite bands from Japan, although they often have japanese > english translation issues, I really love their style and their heavy riffs

I think you nailed it: Epic Masterpiece, Side of a Bullet is also a great one from them.

TMI: Misa, Mitsuru, Kai from the MV "Light in the Dark" left the band. Members that are shown in this MV are the ones currently active.

BRIDEAR のドラマー Natsumi がライブで、Cozy Powell のカバーを演奏した動画をお勧めします。 I recommend a video of BRIDEAR's drummer Natsumi playing a Cozy Powell cover live.

Hey Wave, just found this reaction, glad you finally got to it! Even though this is different from the stuff that won over their initial fanbase, I think it's fantastic, one of the rare things that deserves to be called a masterpiece. Yes, it was sad to see Misaki leave--she's a musical genius. They still have Ayumi, who is herself a huge talent and very young. Moe complements her well--if they can finally have some lineup stability they should become much bigger.

I was fortunate to see them in Shibuya the end of April and I will definitely make an effort to see the again.

I do really enjoy this track, the chorus is not really for me, but I really like the rest. Unfortunately it's one of the few tracks on the album that I really like, this one is way more proggy than most of what I have heard by them, it's probably one of the reasons why I like it more. My main gripe with the album is the vocal production as it sounds very artificial, it's a little less pronounced on this track luckily, but they are way more enjoyable live to me because of that. Both vocalists are actually pretty good live and there is no doubt that they are all talented musicians (I really like Natsumi on drums).
And yes, the bassist (Haru) is the harsh vocalist. And while it has some production on that part as well, she is a good harsh vocalist live.
I believe only the lead vocalist Kimi and bassist Haru are original members. The other original members seem to have left in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Also fun fact, Gacharic Spin's Yuri (before she was in Gacharic Spin) was announced as a support drummer to replace the original drummer that left Bridear in 2019, but right after the announcement she went to Gacharic Spin instead and Bridear found Natsumi (ex-Telecide) on drums (the one in this video). I do think it worked out for both bands though because Natsumi is a fantastic drummer and I think Yuri fits Gacharic Spin way better than her drumming style would fit in Bridear.

The intro reminds me of Ozzy's "Diary of a Madman".

I hear a lot of Dream Theater influence on this song. Very prog and very cool 🤘

I like Bridear a lot, but they change members a LOT. I think their management must be awful.

Misa left for musical reasons. Mitsuru left because of personality clashes. Misaki left for medical reasons. Kai left to start a family. I'd say more bad luck than management, though I do think a lot of the Japanese labels suck at management, so I'm not defending them. Bridear have somehow managed to keep coming up with great stuff. I'm hoping they can keep things stable for awhile.
