I’m a similar fan of your statement! I’ll say that old is new again. Non polymers have always been a work of art to me.
Love full metal pistols and it’s nice to see them gaining some steam again. That little bit of extra weight can sometimes make the difference
I love my CZs, and the Shadow 2 Compact is my favorite because i carry it. My previous favorite in my collection was the Shadow 2 Orange
Picked up my second recently, a P07. Really like what CZ is putting out.
Good content and awesome music!
Thanks!
Definitely a cool pistol👍👍
Thanks!
Try the Lok grips with palm swell, fantastic grips. Made a substantial difference in mine.
Will have to do that, thanks!
Yeah I love mine
Shot it again yesterday… man it does shoot so good!
A wonderful review. The polymers are a cool invention and at some moment, they were new and a great fad. But it was always guaranteed that it would be a fad that would fade away a bit later. The metals have lots of advantages and the extra weight is not such a bad thing. Otherwise this is the newest and best pistol that CZ offers now; hopefully in a year or a few years, there will be a better one again. A problem is that there are lots of CZ users satisfied enough with their good CZ P01, P07, P10 etc. and they are happily shouting that those must be the best because they don't know more expensive pistols like this one. Well, the richer people who don't see $1300 as a life-changing expense should simply buy this instead because it really is better in subtle ways that they should care about. And lots of poorer people would actually do well if they bought this one instead of 3 ordinary pistols. Or 1 ordinary pistol and a few bottles of alcohol. Or something like that.
Totally get it! Definitely not a must have upgrade over the other CZ models. I actually picked up a P07 last night to do some comparisons. Yes a polymer framed pistol, but figured it would be worthy to compare the cheapest SA DA CZ to one of the more expensive. Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts… much appreciated!
Christian, your collection of cool guns seems to be endless!
Thanks. I try to keep a variety.
Looks fantastic Chris. In the end one thing I like about my cz -p01 is I got it milled for the optic I wanted. I always go back and forth now on getting a gun that has a plate system. Certainly cheaper to get it factory cut but that just means more parts to fail and the dot is higher. 🤷♂️. At any rate gorgeous gun and if I had t tricked out my p-01 I’d be all over this one!!
Thanks! I’ve got an RMR plate that’s already arrived. Yea totally get that with more failure points, so hopefully this will be solid. I think I’m gonna pull my 507 green dot off my Beretta 1301 to throw on this pistol.
@@ChristianGrest great idea!
I own this gun and really like it. Also own the Langdon LTT 92G and the Wilson Centurion 92G. All are fine guns. The Langdon trigger job is superb but leaves you with a “hair trigger.” Thank you for doing your review without added accessories like optic and light.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one! I do love my Beretta M9A4 with the LTT trigger. It’s definitely a bit lighter. I put out a first shots video last Sunday of the first 300 rounds. I’m on my way to 1000 rounds but will have an optic on it next. Thanks again!
Got mine earlier this month when the person that ordered it could not come up with the money so LGS sold it to me. 400 rounds with no issues, both FMJ and JHP. Trigger does seem to be better now with a few rounds through it. Very accurate, easy reasonably flat shooter. Also takes CZ-75 and Mec-Gar (CZ-75) mags. My 2nd CZ, have P-07 and really like both of them.
Nice! You lucked out… they’ve been a tad bit elusive. I’m at 300 rounds so far and I agree the trigger has smoothed out.
I just counted 80 on Gunbroker many at MSRP and below.
@@chrisragone8785 Great to see they're finally getting these out there. Seemed for quite a while they were tough to find.
Beautiful Gun Brother I am definitely looking forward to your range review on this one.
Thanks brother! It’s a sweet shooter.
Nice purchase. I hope you enjoy the pistol.
Thanks! So far it’s been an awesome pistol.
You can also run b&t magazines in the CZ75 and SP-01.
Nice! I need to pick up 3 more magazines
Compact?!?! Now I know I need to move to a 2A friendly state so I can buy one of these
I believe the CZ pro shop has an extended safety that fits all of the 75 variants including the Shadow
Yea I need one of those extended safeties.
Also I totally agree on these not having much room for racking the slide. I’ve had to go overhand and use my optic, not great…
Yea it’s a weird change going from basically any other semi-auto pistol. I’ll get used to it. Should have my first shots video out on Sunday. 300 rounds in and a couple of issues I encountered during that “getting to know you” phase.
@@ChristianGrest interesting, can’t wait!!
👍👍... nice
Thanks!
I would hold off on any polishing CZ triggers tend to get better with rounds down range, I have lost count how many I have through mine but trigger in SA is very light and smooth
I’m 300 rounds in and honestly it feels pretty smooth so I’m gonna just run it. The DA pull is pretty heavy still, but no complaints. It was awesome getting to know this pistol… really liking it so far!
I need one 🤤
You do!
I have just started my 1000 round reliability test on the CZ S2C. I am not sure if I will carry this one, but if I did I would have to replace the safety because I cannot disengage without changing my grip a little on the draw and that could be catastrophic for an EDC. Or else really change up my training with DA. I have replaced the grips with Lok Grip palm swell and used the ICM optic plate since it has a built in rear sight. I also had some trouble finding a holster from my usual selections. I got one from Slim Fit Holsters. Overall, I really like it just not sure if it will be anything more than a range queen. Kind of hard to bump the Sig P365 X Macro from my EDC spot for reliability, size and capacity.
I’m well known my way to 1k rounds with mine. I’ve had safety issues as well like you mentioned. I believe there’s an extended safety so I may try swapping that out. Really wish it was a de-cocker model. Also just got my optics setup with a rear sight plate from Impact Machine. Should have my first shots video out this Sunday followed by another video regarding the optics plate setup. Honestly haven’t even looked at holsters yet, but thanks for the info. Appreciate you stopping by and sharing your experiences so far!
Hard to beat a CZ enjoy
No doubt.
I like the compact better than full size due to trigger placement.
Nice purchase.
I love CZ pistols.
Thanks!
Did it come with the white lettering for the serial number? I haven't seen that on other examples...
It did come that way. Not sure why others are different.
Mine has white numbers too
❤️🩹🙏🇺🇸🙏❤️🩹
😊
Please read the owner's manual. Do NOT engage the safety in half cocked. It is not designed that way.
Noted… thanks for the info. I had watched some others mentioning carrying it that way. Now that I have the P07, maybe I’ll end up carrying it instead. Will see. Thanks for watching!
Aren't CZ's in the US made in kansas and Hartford?
The polymer framed pistol are, such as the P10 series from my understanding.
I completely want something like this but only with the decock only lever, or with the convertible omega system.
Yea I wished it had a de cocker.
