At that time, he had been interviewed 6 times concerning excessive force with 8 personal complaints in which 5 were founded. I'm a retired cop, what the hell was that man still doing on the force? This was 34 years ago and it took an hour to get me to the hospital. I was bedridden for a year, wheelchair for another year, crutches and leg braces for another year. How many times has something like this happened recently. Police brutality and beatings it just keeps happening. This is taught in the police academy it’s either us or them mentality, keep the animals in line. This has been going on for decades , all the innocent people that are in prison because some rouge cops are trying to climb up the ladder quickly , but not all police are bad the majority of police are good. Another life lost because they took it to far.
You can train people 24/7 to respond a certain way, but in the end we are all human and will respond different ways in certain situations. Likely, many of the best cops quit the last couple years because they didn't feel supported by the public or department and moved on to other agencies or simply retired. The hiring qualification bar was lowered to fill vacancies within the department, and this is a result. Probably short staffed working a lot of overtime and patience worn thin.

This was 34 years ago and it took an hour to get me to the hospital. I was bedridden for a year, wheelchair for another year, crutches and leg braces for another year. Likely, many of the best cops quit the last couple years because they didn't feel supported by the public or department and moved on to other agencies or simply retired. The hiring qualification bar was lowered to fill vacancies within the department, and this is a result. Probably short staffed working a lot of overtime and patience worn thin.
