Some people would argue that it’s a Christmas movie, but the important thing is that it’s an amazing movie

Nightmare before Christmas started out as a poem , Tim Burton got the idea when he went to a store and seen Halloween and Christmas stuff side by side :)
I adore Halloween cause it’s the one time of the year you can dress up with your kids and not look strange 😂😂
Christmas I really love the lights 🥰 every Christmas Eve as a family we drive around looking at lights , so 40 years for me 😆 and I’ve made sure my daughters never miss a Christmas Eve either 🥰

We would love to experience the Halloween thing one day for sure
But yeah, I see that this movie is considered a christmas classic as much as an Halloween one 😂😂
We do have A LOT of christmas lights here in Portugal though!

The "X" in X-Mas is actually a Greek "χ (Chi)", and is the first letter in χριστός (chrīstós) meaning "the annointed one" and the origin of the word Christ (as in Jesus Christ). So X-Mass is an abreviation of Christmas and the word "Christmas" is in itself an amalgamation of "Christ's Mass".

Ok, now that is really interesting and fascinating 🤔 so it goes back to early christianity?
      Now it makes sense

I highly recommend "ParaNorman" (2012) as a great stop motion animated movie. So much detail in the characters. It is NOT a musical too so that's good for you. It's made by the same company that did "Coraline" which I haven't seen but I know a lot of people like.
I love Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton did like 2-3 more movies like this: Corpse Bride, James and the Giant Peach, and maybe one more I'm blanking on. Although I love the animation technique and the style of those, possibly the story, I have found the music in them lacking compared to the catchiness of Nightmare Before Christmas songs.

Coraline is a great movie! That one I have to show her :p
I don't think I've ever seen Paranorman 🤔 that might be a good first time for both of us...
The other Tim Burton's stop-motion movie I think is Frankenweenie

The movie "James And The Giant Peach" is really good aswell. Stop motion animation like this one. Tim Burton is a part of it, and Jack Skellington makes a cameo. Definitly react to that movie. ❤
