What a shame for Universal!I remember back in late '21 reading in an Abba forum from a fan in Canada complaining how kinda hard was for him to find physical copies of VOYAGE CDs stocked and placed in stores in order to purchase it same day.Distribution defect or ignorance to such an event for such a big comeback.Maybe Abba deserved a better label to be represented. And btw USA certifications for ABBA GOLD sales in there, are still 'officially" stated multiplatinum for being around 6 million copies BUT these are still from the last time the album had been uploaded certifications and that was in ......2002!!!According to what i've read in a chart forum a year ago ,sales of the album(20 years later!!!) are estimated to having surpassed way over 12 millions there all formats combined(physical/downloading/streaming/distributed by mail/copies sold in specific stores and clubs etc) but their record company? 'silence ever after.If Stig was alive......Btw Would Universalpeople support the right way the VOYAGE show if it goes in the USA?I doubt it.
..and all on Benny's birthday. I bet he feels just as disapointed. Who know's, maybe they will re-issue it, and the flubbed version will be a collectors item some day. Still beautiful to see. Thank you for sharing Diego!

Yes, we stayed at The Rival in 2014 and I managed to get it signed by Benny. We went to Mono Music but selected the wrong day, a sunday, and of course it was closed, so reception of the hotel got me the signature.
It seems odd that ABBA won't participate in anything on 6 April (as the fanclub has stated). If not on 6 April, then when? Or maybe they won't do anything publicly at all. Indeed a missed opportunity. This anniversary is probably the last big thing they could do together. It would have been wonderful if there would be a special fan event at the ABBA Arena with the four ABBA members in attendance, where we could all see Voyage (again) and celebrate 50 years of ABBA together. I would only be willing to travel to the UK for a celebratory evening if the ABBA members would be there too. But apparently this is not going to happen. As for The Visitors releases: I only got the singles box set as a collectors item. Considering the premium price I feel Universal could/should put more effort in creating pristine looking single covers. The pictures mostly look like bad scans, blurry and oversaturated. Especially One Of Us 'stands out' in the last department.
Hi Diego! I haved followed you since the release of Voyage but this is my first comment. Even your rants are worth watching, and I really understand and agree with you. I'm sure if the members of ABBA knew they would agree with you too, they don't like sloppiness either. Do you know Carl Magnus? You two should have a ABBA channel, boy would I listen. The two foremost ABBA connoisseurs toghether, through the magic of internet. Anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you! ❤
Appreciate the info.....and yes very frustrating and disappointing on the quality of finished product especially in today's economy and increase prices. I agree they should have some diehard fans on team to proof and give input on these re-releases. If I had been directing this project I would have had a really cool high quality music video produced of the title song The Visitors with images of the Abbatars that matches the eerie mysterious tone of this epic song. Looking forward to hear review on how the complete half-speed master sound quality is before I purchase it. Is it that much better ?
Why didn't you order them directly from Universal in Germany or France? The drawback by ordering from an EU wide website is that there is no telling where they will be sent from or where they will land. I have had this experience with "europe wide" hub websites before.
But why did they put that photo for the cover of the One Of Us single? It wasn't like that at all, in the UK at least. It was the 4 close up pics of each one, not the same album cover. Another mistake??
Because they can do what the want, maybe? The UK release was very different from other releases around the globe. The German version of the single, for example, was the same as the "new" picture disc release.

It just seems redundant to use a picture that is already re-released for the album cover and disc for the 7 inch, for variety's sake and for the collector's money's worth. Quite a lot of slack work being done on a few Abba releases lately that I thought this was maybe another one
Some ABBA fans will buy ALL variations of their Albums so Universal make more money! If all copies were the same people would only buy 1 copy. It is a bit like postage stamp imperfections.

I'm done buying all this hype. Luckily I have all the original LP's bought at the time. Stuff their prices and their carelessness.
