- 0:00 Intro.
All of this action took place at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 17 October 2021.
1:00 You are driving north on Berry Road as you are filming a CSX train. The engines on this train have already past the Berry Road crossing. As you arrive at the crossing, you are stopped by the downed gates in the northbound lane of Berry Road at the Norfolk Southern tracks. The train that is passing us on the CSX tracks is CSX train #I009.
2:18 The gates at the Norfolk Southern and the CSX tracks start to go up after CSX train #I009 passes. You slowly cross both sets of tracks. As you go across the CSX tracks you see that there is a train approaching from the west. You park your car and get out as we see the CSX gates going down.
3:18 CSX train #I166 appraoches from the west. This train is the daily Canadian Pacific run through double stack train from Schiller Park Yard in Schiller Park, Illinois to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This train will terminate at the Seneca Yard in Buffalo, New York where a Canadian Pacific crew will take over and take what is now Canadian Paciic train #142 on to Montreal. At 3:52 a mid-train DPU makes an appearance. After the train passes, you zoom in on the end of the train for a while as it continues east. fter a while ou zoom back and we see that the lights on the signals at Mile Post 44.X are still on. When the lights on these signals are on that means that there is another train in the vicinity. In past viceos, the lights usually go dark which indicates that there are no trains in the immediate vicinty.
6:45 We see the lights of an approaching CSX train from the east that is about two miles away. At 6:54 the gates at the Van Duren Road crossing which is about 1.5 milesl east of us start ot lower. At 7:19 we see that the ditch lights on the lead unit are flasshing. This means that the engineer has started to blow the horn for the appreaoch to the Van Buren Raod crossing. This train is CSX train is CSX train #Q363. The signals that CSX train #Q363 is passing are at Mile Post 44.X. I cannot make out the ofther numbers on the sign attached to the signal because the numbers are too blurry to read. At 8:27 the gate at the Berry Road crossing that we are standing near comes down and momentarily blocks our view of the approaching train. At the same time the engineer starts to blowe the horn for his approach to Berry Road. At 9:03 a mid-train DPU appears. After the train passes Berry Road, you zoom oin on the end of the train. We see that the train has both the Lake Road and the Martin/Willow Road crossing blocked. At 10:58 the gates go up at the Lake Road crossing which tells us that the train has passed that location. At 11:36 the gates go up at the Martin/Willow Road crossing after the train passes it.
11:44 It appears as though there might be a train approcching from the west on track #2 while we continue watching CSX train #Q363 going west under the I-90, New York Thruway, bridge over the Norfolk Southern and CSX tracks.
11:55 The right corner of the eastbound train appears on track #2. At 12:31 the ditch lights on the eastbound train start to flash. This means the engineer is blowing the horn for the appraoch to the Martin/Wiilow Road crossing. At 12:59 the gates at Lake Road start to lower. At 13:52 CSX train #I008 passes our location. After train #I008 passes our location, yu zoom in on the end of train and we watvch it as it continues east.
At 15:59 it appears as though the westbound train is at the Van Burne Road crossing at the same time that the eastbound train is passing the crossing. The CSX train approaching us from the east is CSX train #Q367. At 16:53 you mention that the gates at the Berry Road corossing were going down. After train #Q367 passes Berry Road, you zoom in on the end of the train and we watch train #Q367 pass the Lake Road and the Martin/Lowell Road crossings.
22:54 You start to walk in front of the camcorder to make some comments.
23:45 WE are still at the Berry Road crossing and we are looking at CSX train #Q568 a long way down the tracks. You zoom in on the train and we see that it is approaching the Lake Road crossing. After CSX train #Q568 passes the Berry Road crossing, you zoom in on the end of the trian as it continues east. At 26:37 the lights on the signal at Mile Post 44.X go dak. This means that there is no train in the vicinity. At 26:51 the gates go up at the Van Buren Road crossing which is about 1.5 miles east of the Berry Road crossing.
27:57 We see what appears to be a headlight on track #1. At 29:01 we see that ditch lights are flashing which means that the oncoming train is approaching the Temple Road crossing on the west side of Dunkirk, New York. This location is also known at CSX Control Point 42 at Mile Post 42. At 36:32 we hear the horn of the appraoching train as it nears the Van Burn Road crossing . This is CSX train #K649. This is an "as needed" train of empty ethanol tank cars that originiates at Tremly NJ, - Auta a dopravní prostředky
czcams.com/video/1W1zmUXwMng/video.html I'm doing better day by day, it's a slow process and might take a couple more months to fully recover from Covid 19. Please watch some of my other videos to help my channel while I recover, thank you all!
Like the long shots and everything you film. Maybe you should change your signature call out to wide world of trains Ahh in honor of you rebirth from covid
@@hobojo2072 Thanks appreciate that
@@WideWorldofTrains Tracking the train into the distance, or from a long way off approaching with the exhaust heat distortion makes your videos unique. Good steady filming to see a couple of road barriers operate in the distance.
@@Peranaworthal Thanks Bruce im glad you like it
So long
Love the long range shots. Just keep doing what you do, never listen to the complainers.
Thanks 👍
If only I could learn to do that, not having such a short fuse!
I agree
The downside to getting a bunch of trains that fast is usually a lull after. Lol
I don’t mind when a Train is 2 miles away and you wait I love seeing the Light of a Train of in the distance when it’s on its way
The down range shots are amazing. You get to see so many physics in action.
Next to the engines I love those Long range *#Bend* shots 🥰
That first train is really booking it!!
No DPUS ALRIGHT on that triple meet. That was Awesome!!!!
I think there were 2 in the video
@@WideWorldofTrains Yes in the video.
I like the long range shots... it's incredible how much zoom you have.
Wwot had a good lucky day good job catching those trains
Wow how amazing was that 5 train meets and 3 DPU ALRIGHTS awesome video
Love those long shots down the rais.
They show the rail lay and pitch.
You can see runs locomotive react to the rail!
Amazing. Multiple Train meets, and DPU alright's on a sunny day 😃
I also love the way those long range shots have captured the turbulent exhausts.
Absolutely fantastic! To get a triple meet is a treat, this is just insane! 💪👌👌👌
It really is!
DPU alright is when locomotives are at the end or middle of a train, not the front. DPU alright keeps protection more.
DPU= Distributed power unit!!
I’ve seen trains with DPUs in Both areas.
Rashp862, Technically, anything behind the lead locomotive is not AT the front of the train, but NEAR the front! Therefore, they could be counted as DPUs.
I do know what the convention is, however. On the other hand, locomotives at the rear of a train used to be called pushers. Now, due to remote control, they are DPUs. By that logic, since the other locos near the front are remote controlled, even if hy a different method, they count as DPUs!
that was definitely a sweet day for catching five trains..awesome
Thanks for watching
@@WideWorldofTrains Your very welcome
Scott Sykes Love long 5 train meet ❤❤❤❤😊
WWOT, I like those long range shots. You can see the dips and bends in the track. Almost looks like spaghetti, then the train bounces along following the rails.
Long rang is my absolute favorite part of your videos, please PLEASE don’t stop doing it! Something’s wrong if people don’t like it cause it’s awesome
Thanks
Great quintuple train meet and great video. Loved the camera angle on the tanker train. I like seeing far and near as the train flies by. Thank you WWOT
Thanks Dennis I'm glad you like it
I love the long range shots. The best part I like of your videos is seeing a train coming from 2 miles away. Don’t listen to those people who don’t like them.
Interesting how the trains looks to be going slow in the long shots, but are screaming by when they go by! 😲 amazing! 👋🏼♌️
Thanks for watching
You are very lucky wide world of trains with a Quintuple meet!
Really excellent video!!! Lots of train meets!! Very rare! Nice catch of the Union Pacific tanker train👍😀👏
Thank you very much!
great long range shots....you know whats coming before anyone else!
Wow! Great catch, Mike, thank you.
Crazy train meet alright! And a YN2 with it.
Your not greedy, just lucky, the triple meet was actually five trains.
The second train east bound ( double stack ) thankyou CP for providing the DPU, and third train, a single level west bound with CSX DPU accompanyment another thankyou.
I am one of your favorite fans of long distant shots, especially with multiple gantry signalling in constant view.
Thanks again & greetings from New Zealand.
😁😄👍👌😷
Somebody is going to say the second train was a CSX, & they are right !
CSX I166 Pomfret,ny Eastbound once over the second track on October 27, 2021. Watch the DPU on that same train, it was branded CP.
BTW, that first train we got a glimpse of was CSX I009 Pomfret, ny Westbound before we crossed the first track northbound on the road.
Thanks WWOT, DPU ALLRIGHT, Wed October 27, 2021 on Youtuba !!
😁😄👍👌😷
WOW! What a great day of rail fanning you had; thanks for sharing!
You bet!
That was quite some action! Glad to see that you are cautious around railways - some of our railfans really take their lives in their hands - they put others in danger too.
Those long shots make the rail look like a train wreck waiting to happen!
That was a good day for you despite the slow start.
How lucky can you get!😃
WWOT
Great video
5 trains in 15 minutes is amazing.
Thank you very much!
@@WideWorldofTrains
Your welcome 👍
I like the long distance shot of the union Pacific tanker train it's very good
Gevos forever
WWOT strikes video gold! Very cool, and love the long range shots. Nice optical illusions.
And I think you're the beneficiary of our supply chains trying to get caught up.
I love the long range shots.
That Was One Busy Railroad Crossing. Love It! DPU ALRIGHT! ROLL IT!
Oh yeah!
Wow 5 trains in a row, dang, thats a lot tbh, nice work wide world of trains
Great to see this multiple meet and the light just got better and better. I like the long range shots perticulally the head on shots where you can see the heat haze being chucked out by the beasts!
Glad you enjoyed it
Cool train meets. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you too
Best train video in the world by far!
Thanks 👍
Awesome quintuple train meet!
When the signal is lit up you know a train will be coming soon. The far track was yellow/red I knew another train was coming soon just by that
When ever you see the lowest signal change it is a sure thing that another train is coming
Triple meet is very unusual this close together but awesome
That was one of the awesomeness bestest Quintuple trains meets, it was so cool watching the trains coming from 3 mile or 2 mile. This was the best video ever!! WWOT, you are awesome! Can’t wait to see more!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@WideWorldofTrains , I did thank you. I post some videos with DPU’s alrights. :)
I can't figure out how in the world a train can go on that warped track, without derailing.
The space between the rails gets wider, then much more narrow. The train doesn't seem to be fazed at all.
Brilliant WWoT!! Great to hear the excitement in your voice. Surely one for the history books, sorry videos. 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Thanks again!
Love the long range shots.
nice job with the video 5 trains you hit the jackpot to that keep up the good work job well done
I LOVE the long range train shots! Please keep doing them. I have no idea why some people complain about them, but some people just like to complain. 🙄
❤ I Love You video you keep up the good work show this video turn the maintenance away people I need to do some real replacement so there won't be any derailments
I like the long range shots this is one of them things that makes your videos that much more interesting to watch .... Love it!!
Thanks 👍Glad you like them!
Crazy amount of action.😁🚂
Yes it sure was, thanks!
AGAIN???!!!! you must be so lucky to catch these compilation
Even better after a second watch on CZcamsaah! 🚂🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺
Thanks SAFM
Love all ur trian vedios
i cant speak for anybody else but personally i love the long range shots.
It’s is a shame that the Seaboard Airline Railroad isn’t still running today
I think those 2 mile shots are amazing. I had no idea they could pick up that far
Amazing terrific 👍🇲🇾 great train meet what a deals,
Yes it was!
Ive watched 5 train videos in less than 12 hours, from 4 different videographers and they all have been exceptionally amazing. I just sit back and watch, no use trying to get my own! And from several places in the US and Canada.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@WideWorldofTrains one of the other videos i watched was in Idaho/Montana, there were 8 BNSF trains meeting over a two hour span of time, on single track with a 3 mile long siding...............
Hi Paul, glad to see you back on top. Regards.
@@robertbate5790 as you know, life is full of ups & downs, i visited my late wife at her resting place yesterday, it would have been 41 great years together. Now i can get back to normal for a while..........doing model train projects for a couple of friends, its getting too cold for me to do stuff outside.
5 train meets awesome
Great Autumn Train Meet. Here's hoping Autumn 2022 is even better for you. I'm just gonna hafta visit Upstate NY this Autumn. We don't get trains like that here in the Vernon CT area. Thanks for the videos.
Very cool triple!
Those long range shots are great but they don't half show every bit of unevenness in,the track!
Hello brother. This awesome video is the reason I love it when use your zoom. The first meet was my favorite because I believed I was seeing things too.😀 Thanks for the awesome videos with the zoom. ROLL IT!!!
That is awesome! Roll It!
Excellent train compilation!
Thank you very much!
Those tracks are busy
Great Video!! Keep up the good work! Love the Train meet-ups!
Thanks appreciate it
triple meet. What luck!
Tanker cars alright!
Thanks 👍
It's hard to judge the speed of an approaching train. They are going faster than they look. Santa Fe went through Carrollton at 70mph. The city wanted the trains to go through slower. The railroad said if they slowed down cars would cross in front of it.
Great video Wwot enjoyed the trains and the dpus premiere was fun enjoyed it alot you should call this video train meet frenzy
Cool idea Silver Hawk 21
I just added that to the title
Wow thanks wwot
You just got there, alright. Another minute and you wouldn't have caught the lead engines.
Quintuple train meet! That doesn't happen very often. This had to have been around the same time someone TPed the tracks!
Very cool catches!
Right place right time! That’s railfanning for ya! Been watching your videos for quite awhile now, love the raw uncut footage, no editing, just vas you shoot it! Keep em coming.
I love your trains video
Thank you for another amazing video wwot enjoy your night ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Catches
That was your lucky day.
Love this channel!!!
I spotted the train cars before you did I noticed it right off the bat
I find it interesting how trains, when approaching from a distance, appear. It almost looks like they're under water until they get closer.
That was awesome.
yea nice catch catching this big meet
Looks like such nice weather there-it’s supposed to snow hereThursday!
😂
It was for a couple of days but now it's colder and the 40s
Great tripple meat,
That's a unusual crossing signal, the ones around here is just alternately flashing, not like that one. Must be a new digital type light controller on it.
Really great video, thanks
My pleasure!
Yay I'm first can't wait till noon !!!!!
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Hello there!
Awesome video kep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Thanks, you too!

35:50 You walk in front of the camcorder to tells us about you train catches on this 27 day of October 2021.
You were definitely at the right place at the right time when you drove up to the Norfolk Southern tracsk at the beginning of this video. Thank you! Thank you!, for documenting these trains! This is a really GREAT video!
Really amazing and great video WWOT!! really nice job!! 😄👍 I love that 5 train meets of the CSX trains!! When CSX goes another CSX comes when CSX goes another CSX comes!! Very cool to see that!!!
Thank you very much!
This was very interesting, really enjoyed it
Glad you enjoyed it!
NICE WWOT
