[LOTR] Samwise The Brave

- A tribute to Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tolkien said he believed Sam to be the true hero of the story, not Aragorn or Frodo. The more you rewatch the movies, the clearer that really becomes. And even more when you re-read the books. Sam is the type of friend who gives his unconditional love, the type we should all aspire to be. I think Peter Jackson and Sean Astin definitely would have made J.R.R. Tolkien proud with their interpretation of Sam.
If you haven't seen The Lord of the Rings yet, you should definitely give it a watch! The order in which you want to see them is as follows: LOTR The Fellowship of the rings, then LOTR The Two Towers, and ultimately LOTR The Return of the King.
I've used multiple songs in this edit. The second song also briefly appears at the very start of the edit.

When I was working on this edit, I looked up the song 'Samwise The Brave', to see if it would suit my ending. I then stumbled upon another edit from MedeRecord with the exact same name that I wanted to use for my tribute. I've contemplated about changing my video, or even scrapping it, because clearly someone else had already done it. But when I watched his video, I found that our ideas differ more than enough. Fortunately he didn't use the same song. Nonetheless I shall link his video here, so you can give it a watch yourself. It was definitely a great video: • (LOTR) Samwise the Brave

Can't think of a more powerful moment of absolute sheer heroism in all of cinema, as the moment Sam lifted Frodo onto his back, after days without food, water and sleep, in a cold wasteland where the very poisonous air saps at your strength every second, after having every chance to turn back and chase love and marriage back home, he chose to be a man of his word, to walk into the very literal Hell on Earth and then to carry his friend up a fukkin mountain just so Frodo can complete his mission. Im sorry but not a moment in cinema history even remotely compares

Um, friend....I have never seen a better Samwise edit in my whole life....'and that's sayin' a lot.' 😢 You captured why he's my favorite character and I'm going to share this with anyone who wants to fight me on the fact that he's the true hero of the story.
My favorite part of your tribute was when you mashed all the scenes of him fighting for all he's worth for Frodo, including him punching Gollum, because it gives you this huge spoonful of desperation and how freaking hard Sam fought for the person who meant everything to him. I got tears in my eyes at that part! 😭
Oh and the "through fire...and water." bit, followed by, "let him go you filth." Uuuuuuuuugggghhhh!!!! GOLD.
And how the "that's for my Old Gaffer" line blends with the tower's explosion and demise!!!
Also, the part where you blended his speech perfectly with Sam's monologue....like the line where he says, "And sometimes you didn't want to know the end...because how could the end be happy?"
As you show Frodo dying in Sam's arms. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
