  • More practical than a bicycle. More sustainable and economical than a car. The Trikart is an improvement in transportation.

      @Dindo Nuffin
      It is kinda like the new ergo desk chairs where you lean into the seat. Some pressure on your butt and some on your legs. I have one at work but I put rollers on it as i constantly have to move it so I dont do the lean aspect, but it is suppose to be good for you. But the see itself does not look very comfy!. They never show it being peddled so it looks more of emergency only function. I would replace them with static foot placements.
      The fact that peddling it is not practical does not bother me. With E kick scooters starting to quickly gain great popularity shows that people dont want to peddle in many scenarios such as touring a site, last mile to subway or a quick run to the store.. Too me this is a viable and more practical solution to for those looking for something with less balance requirements and more practical cargo capability to fill some of those niches like touring or going get say groceries.
      I am reviewing Personal Electric Vehicles(PEV) for a presentation to my EV association and this one will be on it as an a good example. To me it is a shame it did not make it to market!
      Cheers

    I love the maneuverability and the compactness, but I have to agree with many of the comments about the precarious position of the rider. If the rider could be given a recumbent seat (some compactness has to be sacrificed for this) to shift the center of gravity a bit back it would be perfect. For some reason it looks to me like a child stroller that has been converted to a bike. Is that where you got started? I have a couple of strollers I picked up from the verge throw-out and I was going to convert them into a bike trailer. Maybe I will re-consider and think about incorporating elements from your design and the points I outlined above to create something new. Cheers, and good job!

    What allows this geometry to be possible to ride is the fact that there is 45 lbs of sealed leas acid batteries between the two rear wheel. Without that, it is true, it's not safe to ride.

    It seems you see the utility here for the everyman. I think you would make a lot of money from these if you looked at the needs of warehouse workers and industry. A model with a larger back, or a model that is just easier to pile higher than on the current version. Perhaps something with racks but still with the same foot print. A final model that can replace a pallet jack but with the same foot print. Look at warehouses and even something crazy like amazon warehouses for where this could be applied readily. I think it's a great idea for the everyman but a hard sell. Industry would buy it though. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

    Really cool and different! However, I wonder if bigger wheels, say 16" or 20", could be implemented? (Couldn't this allow more power/range to the electric motor?) And perhaps lower the seat height by, say, 5"? (Couldn't this improve center of gravity without a significant sacrifice in visibility to traffic?)

    Panic stops would transfer riders weight to front wheel and that thing is going to leave big skid marks from back wheels. It should have one of those heavy duty clamp brakes on front rim. Looks like there is room for it! Also, without too much mod, the rider could sit a lot lower preventing side tips especially when turning at speed! Do those two things and it would be pretty viable!

    Someone put a lot of thought and love into this.. and it tackles a lot of questions of actually getting groceries while riding.. and do you have to leave your bike out front to potentially get stolen, cargo capacity.. blah blah blah.. But this is an accident waiting to happen the moment you have to stop fast or hit a pot hole.. I'm sorry. This is a big no for me. I'd rather have one of the ELF's even though I'd need a garage to store it in. This just isn't safe.

Folded this looks cumbersome and still very large to get on a train. If you really have to carry so much weight. Get either a proper upright trike or invest in a trailer for your bicycle.
