Philippines Multi-Billion Reclamation Projects will 3x METRO MANILA's Business Center
Metro Manila, The Philippines National Capital Region has a population of nearly 15 million this year, in an area of 619.5 square kilometers. Compared to its neighboring cities, Singapore has over 6 million population in an area of 734.3 square Kilometers. With its limited land area around Metro Manila, land reclamations will be the easiest way to expand its urbanization closer to the city centers.
With these in mind, the Philippine Government and the private sector will reclaim more than 10,000 hectares within Metro Manila. These will take parts of the total of 26,234 hectares of the 38 reclamation projects in Manila Bay. Among these, 13 projects are approved under various stages of compliance out of the 25 reclamation projects in the Metro Manila section of Manila Bay.
According to Maps provided by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, show the three ongoing reclamation projects, these are Harbour City in Pasay, with 265 hectares of land allocated for institutions, condominiums, and hotels. The SM new Bay City, a 390-hectare joint venture between the city and SM Prime Holdings. And the 318-hectare Manila Waterfront City project near the United States Embassy. The DENR map also showed seven projects, which are currently in the implementation or preparatory stage. The 650-hectare Navotas Coastal Bay project. The 419-hectare Horizon Manila project; the 148-hectare Manila Solar City project; Las Pinas-Parañaque Coastal Bay Project with over 431 and 203 hectares. And three reclamation projects in Cavite covering 420 hectares.
Other approved projects are the 400-hectare City of Pearl Reclamation Project in Manila; the 844-hectare Manila-Cavite toll expressway reclamation project in Bacoor; and the 472-hectare Cavite four-island reclamation project.
Will these projects, come into reality?
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered an indefinite suspension of 22 major land reclamation projects in Manila Bay to allow a study of their environmental impact and legal compliance.
Marcos's order came after the United States expressed public concern over environmental damage from the projects and the involvement of a Chinese company that was blacklisted by Washington for its role in building militarized Chinese island bases in the South China Sea that further stoked tensions in the contested waters.
At a Palace briefing last week, Environment Secretary said that the DENR had been conducting a cumulative impact assessment of some of the reclamation projects in the Manila Bay area. The assessment also includes if the reclamation projects aggravated the perennial flooding in the metropolis.

That’s just the project itself in the Manila tho. If we were looking for 1st world in the Philippines. Wages must be high and have clean environment and minimize people starving. Projects like this must be spread out in the Philippines not just Manila because this only creates another problem of overpopulation from people in small provinces immigrating in Manila to look for better jobs which another cause for bad traffic. The project itself is good. Just hoping the Government in the Philippines spread out more projects in Visayas and Mindanao to create more jobs and better pay instead squizeeing everything in overpopulated city

My take on this is that it will not help in decongestion of Metro Manila . It will be the same , the reason is the only people who will move in that area are foriegn buyer maybe few locals . 50 % of Metro Manilas population maybe below poverty line. The price of Condo Unit is not affordable to middle class Filipinos. The theme is to attract foreign buyers and investor. The only benefits for sure are jobs. But if the Chinese contractors are in Chinese workers will be competing with the Filipinos. Lastly the only benefits is the prestige like competing with the worls class Cities in the world.

Actually, all of President BBM's projects are good. We just need to support them. However, as long as there are detractors calling for his downfall and the expulsion of him and his family, not all of his projects will be completed. In fact, those people are the thieves in the Philippine government. The Marcoses, in my understanding, are intelligent and capable leaders of the Philippines. It's the impatient Filipinos who want to lower the price of rice who should find a magician for a president. Please support BBM first so that the Philippines can progress. The last time they were forcibly removed from office, what kind of presidents did we have? It was all corruption and government malpractice. I hope this time Filipinos will learn from what happened to us.

This project mostly is in the time of dutertes term. Theres novsuch big infra of pbbm. He only continue the build3 of duterte. Thats the fact.

@@dextershaman7154 The fact that build3 project is on blueprint of Marcos Sr. But that stopped during dilawan not until former president Duterte continue it.

@@dextershaman7154 wag masyado proud. Yung pinangako na wala nang traffic sa manila after ng build3, di rin nangyari, traffic pa rin. Kaya nga may build better more si pbbm. Kasi sa railways sya magfofocus dahil mas makakatulong yun. More renewables, irrigation, flood control, etc. Tapos ang lalaki pa interest ng loans ni duterte sa mga projects nya. Si pbbm sumasalo lahat.
Mas maraming project si pbbm in terms of infra. New projects ha, maliban sa continued. Search mo sa google. Iba pa dyan yung pasig river esplanade at pambansang pabahay

Hinde naman mawawala ang Manila Bay, andyan pa rin ang dagat, makikita pa rin ang sunset sa Manila Bay, iaadjust lang yan dahil kailangan yang reclamation to improve the life of the people especially in Metro Manila dahil ang modernong mga building at mga negosyo ay pinag-aralan bago pa yan itayo o idevelop.

its a long process to build a strong independent nation, truly -
1st anyone who doles out 500 peso per house to get a vote needs jailed.
2nd no family members are allowed to be appointed by anyone in power.
3rd all funds going in and out of public officials pockets are transparent for all to see on a web site.
4th outside supervision of all projects and construction costs and who is profiting from materials purchase and all transparent on public web site.
5th all donated items from other countries are freely given promptly to the public they were donated to not held as bribes and stamped with election propaganda and doled out as if the mayors or congressman bought them as a gift out of his own pocket.
6th create a national program to get clean drinking water to each and every home that flows all day every day.
7th create a national program to ensure electricity flows to each and every home daily all day without brown outs.
8th supply actual school books to children and have all nations curriculum be equal level at all ages and grade
    levels.
8TH eliminate corruption in all police forces and fund massive military expansion to protect your country.
9th create a strong industrial base with govt incentives and foreign investment where the foreign investors will benefit fairly and not be penalized for not being filipino.
10th create a national program to clean litter and waters of trash and provide a national trash collection program to recycle and compost and deposit all trash in all areas of the country.
11th make use of all the foreign investment opportunities already inside the country in the expats who live and have families there but are penalized by law from building a business and hiring workers and owning land to create progress and create good paying jobs, nobody wants to invest in this if they have no rights or ownership to protect their investments and the amount of funds and skills and knowledge that would immediately become available to benefit all of the philippines is huge free and already in place.
