1974.5 MG MGB HIF4 Carburetor Flooding Due to Float Failure, Carburetor Cleaning

- In this video I investigate the cause of the carburetor flooding and fuel dumping out the cars emissions ventilation system. I was shocked to see what I found, but luckily it will be an easy fix. Next I will install the repair parts, reactivate the charcoal (hopefully without burning my eyebrows off), and get this thing driveable again. I cant wait to take the Ole Car to work again.

That's an interesting build to work on. Wish I could see the setup in person. Looks pretty straight forward.
Its a good platform to me to learn alot from. I swapped the float last night, but was still flooding... I think my pressure regulator may be failing
Oh yeah ! Just caught up in this one 👍👍
Knowing your way around a carburetor is an awesome skill. Isn’t it great when you actually find something that you know needs fixing?
Yeah I guess there is comfort in that lol
Mr Ouuwee tappin in 💪🏾
I'll be checking out thst track hawk vid tonight bro
@@BrailsfordsRides it’s all good bro 💯
Glad you got it figured out. Feels good to get things done!
Well I swapped it last night and it was still flooding, soooo there is apparently compounding failures. I took them off again to check everything,, Next to mess with the pressure regulator
Cool. another youtuber doing stuff with MG's, we need more of that. Looking forward to more content from a fellow MG Ytuber. Make sure you replace the fuel line going between the two carbs, that is often overlooked and can rot internally then small bits of rubber come loose and is often why you get that crap in the rear one.
That hose has been replaced in the last 2 years so its good
Where are you located, my channel has the MG and some American Muscle. My B has been down for about 2 month but im glad she is back up and running again. If you can find me on Facebook Matt Brailsford I'll add you to a MG YTer chat I created
@@BrailsfordsRides I'm in Ohio. My channel is new and so far has My autocross MGBGT, My buddies MGA build, a M38A1 army Jeep, and a little on My LS1 MGBGT project (more on that coming soon) I'll look you up on FB
Very nice great video
I am ready to get the car back on the road
@@BrailsfordsRides looks like a pretty easy fix as long as you can find a new float
@@CCAutoWorks just got in today
Nice!!
Big ole hole in the float lol
👊🏻👊🏻
the ole sticky float routine...
Except this one broke and didn't stick
@@BrailsfordsRides every naturally aspirated car ive had, had sticky floats...
Did the name Bobby B come from the first transformers movie or am I completely wrong? 🤣
I mean its funny you say that because somehow my 5 yo at the time remembered that name from that movie but it was named Bobby by my 3yo and since its an MGB it became Project Bobby B
@@BrailsfordsRides hey that works too!
