    Pine = creosote for those wondering. Creosote is a carcinogen. It's also what causes black suet to form on the bottom of your pan if you were to cook with it.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 5 měsíci

      Yep, thus the reason I'll never cook food directly over it. You'll still get soot and carbon buildup on pans from any wood.

    Nice build. You have smoke coming out of the feed tube. That means your draft is not working as well as it should be. You need to extend the fire tube to get a better draft. Or adjust the fuel cap so the smoke can get out and force it up the burn tube. In a rocket stove smoke is fuel, you need to capture that energy.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 měsíci

      I'm also using rather green wood in these videos, so I'm not getting an efficient burn. I ran out of firewood last fall and I've been splitting as fast as I can.

    If you can find an old throwaway one of those Comal pans, you can put it on there upside down and turns it into a really quite efficient little space heater for gatherings. Keeps it low enough so not blocking line of site of guests you may be talking to, doesn't have a ton of wood at a time so when your ready for bed only really need like 20-30 minutes to die down to safe levels etc.

    What was the milimeter thickness and size of the square tube you used? And, was it made of iron, steel, or aluminum?

    • @TKCL

      Raw steel, 6 inches by 6 inches square. Thickness was 3/16 inch, only because I couldn't find thinner.

      Actually, I like the silent build part. Sorry to tell you this, Andrew, but I fast forward during the build part. I stop or go back when I see something interesting. I’m a 70 year old woman who isn’t a DIY’er, metal construction doesn’t interest me. But I truly love watching the end results of your building stuff! I’ve always been interested in rocket stoves! I can’t wait to see your accessories, I’m sure your genius is going to shine through. Have you thought about filing patents so you can make more money when you sell them?

  • @HowRay
    @HowRay Před 5 měsíci

    I know you’ve had a few comments, so I won’t beat a dead horse. The issue with “silent movies” versus “talkies” is no one understands what you’re doing or why or how it pertains to the “whole”.
    This project turned out cool, but I still have no idea why you did “what” you did, the “way you did it”.
    I end up confused and wondering about the process.
    Nicely done project though.!!!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks for the feedback, I did a lot of talking at the end to hit those points. The struggle is a lot of talking up front discourages non English speaking viewers to continue, thus less views. I need to find a happy medium.
