    I wouldn't be surprised if US clandestine forces are already involved in Tarkov, as there seems to already be a narrative precedent for it. Consider all the missions conducted on behalf of Peacekeeper; you recover valuable intelligence from downed drones, assess and recover military assets from BMPs, T-90s & Strykers, operations like that have the CIA's fingerprints all over it.
    The US would be *VERY* interested in assessing Russian military capability, and all Peacekeeper's "contacts" or "clients" are likely to be part of the Intelligence Community. This would realistically be a perfect time to aquire said intelligence, under a guise of secrecy surrounded by the conflict which has preoccupied the Russian Federation.
    I believe it would be plausible for Peacekeeper's intelligence to be considered Actionable Intel to warrant a US military response in the region, which could prompt BSG's proposed Russia 2028 game in the future.

    US involvement by SEAL/DEVGRU/Delta/MARSOC/Green Berets could be the answer to who is Black Division, but we'll see. They are using no Russian Gear, all of the rifle setups they use look like they are SOCOM as well as gear. U can see them using GPNVG-18s that are made by EOTech as well as Fast MTs, CPC Plate carriers and so on and so forth. It's very likely that these people are SOF dudes. The thing that's bugging me is that they got triggered when the trader ringed someone up on that phone and said that "their" luggage is in arms of PMCs, and the luggage belonged to TG, so maybe that means that Black Division are also contractors that are now retired SOF dudes that are getting paid more by TG than any other PMC company at the time to do the dirty work. While the rest of the USEC do security for TG personnel and properties. If TG had such sensitive info that were handled by the USEC, they would not have them do things like extract the intel to TG, and then leave them to die in tarkov like this. USEC's mission in Tarkov is a little unclear. At the time that our characters exist, USEC within Tarkov have been abandoned by TG. Maybe some of them still care about their original mission but like the voiceline says: "I can't believe command just up and left us here." and "What about command? They just left us?". I think USEC trapped in Tarkov are just trying to survive and leave, but black division (which may be supported by US govt?) is going to pick up where USEC left off.

    I do think there's two existing ways USA is already involved in this clusterfuck. The shot down drones in Shoreline and logistical support to UNTAR units, as seen from the M4s and M9A3s that Peacekeeper has. While there's a lot of M4 users, the M9A3 is very much a US-only weapon and thus it is likely they are given out as part of the aid for the sake of cleaning out their inventories from old weapons. For other NATO countries, the M416 and SCAR have been adapted by a bunch of European countries so odds are, they're from stockpiles that nominally belong to Belgium, France or Norway.

They might threaten each other but they wouldn't fire at each other because they would start a WW3 in my opinion. American forces, RGF, UN, and BEAR would try to get rid of scavs, raiders, and USEC. I think if the U.S. joined in on the conflict they would be assisting the Russians because TerraGroup and the USEC action along with the many other none UN or Russian factions could be considered terrorist after all the TerraGroup made their lab in Tarkov because it was a major city in Russia that was far north which would give them workers without alerting the government because of how out of the way it is.
    This brings me to my next point on why they would help Russia instead on the terrorist in the region; USEC They have killed innocent TerraGroup employees for no reason which doesn't matter because it still a war crime, TerraGroup have been funding illegal experiments and created a private military group that also has committed war crimes along with just normal crimes, and lastly the Scavengers for the main reason (and I'm sure they will be forgiven since they were trapped in warzone) have committed multiple felonies including Murder, Robbery and theft (all of which where necessary evils BTW) I just don't see a world where the U.S sides with terrorist.
    Another reason why I think they would join in on the Russian side is because the U.S's relationship with the Russian's has always been rocky taking a different side would probably escalate things into a war which is not a good thing but on the other hand if the American's did join on the Russian side it would be a chance to strengthen ties between America and Russia, and maybe even make them close allies because America helped them settle an internal conflict that is why I think it would be stupid for America not to take the opportunity to help the Russians and possible end a rivalry or make it a friendly one.
    America should help Russia in this situation, Feel free to argue I'm open to other perspectives.

    • @humber8220
      @humber8220 Před 2 lety +1

      The US sides w terrorists or whoever helps them accomplish their goals all the time, but they still would not ever be openly involved in resolving conflict on russian territory because russia would never allow it.
      Its likely that in this scenario tensions are extremely high between the US and RU because from a russian perspective whats going on in tarkov is basically an american corporation starting a large conflict along side an american private army, and then that american private army continuing the violence even after terragroup has abandoned it, so to russians it probably already looks really sus, and if US troops were deployed it would look even more sus. So russia would absolutely not be willing to work along side the US.
      Also If russia became destabilized by internal conflicts the US wouldnt want to help cuz its not in their interests to help. Russia and the US will probably never become strong allies seeing as how they are adversaries with conflicting interests in europe, the arctic, and the middle east

    • @TripleAlfafa
      @TripleAlfafa Před 2 lety

      They; along with DEVGRU, ISA and Deltas would be the only American forces on the ground that you'd plausibly see. The political situation is too tense for any overt involvement beyond drone flights above the area which is nominally inside Russian borders. They would most likely focus on ground-level observing the situation and eliminating the most inconvenient people involved in the whole scenario. Perhaps, to also secure Terragroup related intel to either cover their asses or to build up their own case to fuck them up in the court system. Retrieving people would only be done for the most important figures for this goal.
      As far as USEC goes, they wouldn't be considered anything more than expendable rent-a-guns by DC. They most likely have already done their service and are doing this for the sake of better pay than working directly for Uncle Sam.

    Better question is what happens when russia invades tarkov as its in their country. US wouldn't step foot in tarkov, only way they'd be there is through terra group or a pmc contractor.
    I feel that black division is terragroup (not a third party contractor) theyre there to handle lose strings.

    • @PPWRUP
      @PPWRUP Před 2 lety

      Black Division are TerraGroup, it's confirmed. Well, not TerraGroup as USEC is (being its subsidiary), but:
      1. Black Division is known as top-tier PMC specializing in grey and straight up black area operations.
      2. They've technically already been announced as either the 3rd side of the conflict, or a part of it, against which USEC and BEAR survivors will team up in Russia 2028.
      3. They took at least one job from TerraGroup (the Raid series - they were the one to take out the RF Armed Forces port base which was later covered up as being destroyed by a big scav gang).
      My guess is, either they've been bought by TerraGroup recently (unlikely, we probably would've already known about that - but eh, R2028 updates are not that often, so it's still possible) or they've signed a long-term contract with the corp, serving as its personal elite guard.

  • @edbrook7088
    @edbrook7088 Před 2 lety

    Didn’t The Black Division assault a Russian military installation? A US Special operations detachment would never do something so brash and aggressive. If, as you say, Gus Vansing was in there and they wanted to grab him, they would wait until he left and then grab him. Russian strategy here seems to be to seal of the Tarkov region and wait for everyone in it to kill each other, before going in and liquidating any resistance, so they wouldn’t allow US troops in there. However, a large part of the game’s storyline is based on the official Russian propaganda narrative of victimisation, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see US involvement.

    A big company like terra-group would easily have US government contracts worth billions. Even today in the war with Russia and Ukraine don’t think for moment US forces are not helping that is the thing with black ops and highly trained forces like CIA SOG and PAG they can do things without anyone knowing. So all this is to say yes Tarkov will have a US lead faction within the story because it would make very logical sense for such a faction to be involved.

    What exactly is the extent of the Russian government's level of authority over the Tarkov region? From what I've gathered so far it seems to me like its some kind of autonomous region where the local Tarkov government has control on paper but the Russian government also has some political power.
    From what I've heard and seen in the lore so far with things Terragroup has been caught doing in addition to the level of foreign involvement in the region and the conflict, it makes me speculate that Terragroup can't be getting away with it on corrupting officials alone. There has to be some level of authority that the Russian Government is lacking the region.

    The entire premise itself while interesting, any actual evidence, or even accusations of US intervention on Russian soil would be reasons for Russia to investigate/escalate, even if it was using PMC/Special forces. Escalations of forces between two P5 members is something that even UNSC would not want to mess with. Safe to say that if the "US Military" ever lands in Russia home soil, the entire world's would be on full nuclear panic if not already covered in nuclear fire.

      It's not U.S. military. Black Division is not new, it already existed in the lore and appeared in the previous game, Contract Wars (although there it wasn't a playable or NPC faction, but was a special status for players at the top of the leaderboards).
      Just like USEC, they are a PMC, although a much more elite one, for the lack of better words. Best tech, best equipment, best paychecks, best operators. And, unlike USEC that is more of a normal PMC, just taking regular security jobs and the like, the Black Division specializes in black ops kind of stuff, i.e. pretty much illegal, full deniability operations.
