- The remake of Myst sequel #riven has just been released and, as Riven Remake gameplay has got an optional VR mode, I'll be braving the heat to bring you a little look at Riven VR gameplay in action! This stream features Riven PC gameplay on a Quest 3 and it will also feature me getting really stuck as I complain about the heat. This stream may be shorter than usual lol.

Congrats on having the FIRST video of Riven PCVR on CZcams so far. The rest are injecting VR into the demo or showing the Quest version. It would be great to get a recorded video of the PCVR version of this game too, since the main benefit of the PCVR version is the much better graphics. Livestream bitrates don't do much for those good looks.
Edit: The environments in this game sexy as hell. 1:18:11, wow. So many points actually.
I agree that every game should have a VR and non VR option! No man’s sky was a game changer for me!
congrats on getting to experience this masterpiece for the first time. In VR!! I was 17 in -97 and this game made me understand how much more games can be than shooting, racing, points, fragging and looting. You should read the journal from Atrus to get more info on why stuff is messed up, who Gehn is and the situation you as a player is in. Gehn is actually watching you..
Also, make notes of symbols, map out things, sounds, animals and stuff like that ;) it helps to see that on a single page or two. Hours or days later

Him deciding right away that he's not going to read anything is going to hurt him a lot later lol. So many puzzle clues are hidden in journals for cyan games

I love Riven, and the VR mode is good, but lacking in my opinion. Specifically, why did they not have a physical polaroid style camera and a physical notebook?!! This game basically requires you to make copious amounts of notes, and making it difficult in VR makes it a more fiddly experience then playing it on a desktop with a notepad next to you irl.
I think I may be a little bit biased being a VR dev, but I think I could have helped do it right!! I should phone cyan and offer to do it...
Its really interesting to see how puzzles changed to support flexible perspectives.
Oh wow they added so much and changed a lot from the original. Details of course, but also entirely new puzzles and concepts and areas to explore. Glad you're enjoying this amazing game!
