Most "Free Lefts" are blocked by vehicles most of the times... traffic enforcement in this regard is non existent. Most zebra crossings are not available to pedestrians at red signals as vehicles stop over and beyond them. Wherever zebra crossings are there motorists don't bother to slow down or stop for pedestrians on the zebra crossings. Pelican signals where available are not used by pedestrians, as most are not aware of it or don't have the patience to use it. Even when few use it, motorists don't slow down or stop when the signal goes red to let pedestrians pass, as motorists are not aware or don't have the patience to stop. All in all, though the intention behind is good, execution and enforcement is pathetic !
