eHealth is the Pioneer project of the Department of Health and Family welfare Government of Kerala designed to provide effective and efficient Health Services to the citizens of Kerala with a centralized Health Care System.
The eHealth project aims to build a database of individual medical records that is easily accessible to Medical practitioners. It includes unique patient identification and exchange of data between different Healthcare delivery units at primary secondary and tertiary levels
This could avoid repeated medical test and can thereby reduce rush in clinics and labs and out of pocket expenses
Cochin smart Mission Ltd is implementing e- Health in 32 hospitals in Ernakulam with funding support from the French development Agency and the European Union under a program called CITIIS which is organized by the ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and coordinated by the National Institute of urban Affairs.
The eHealth system will help citizens to book an appointment online through a portal. A comprehensive electronic health record with details of Health Data will be available on the portal for the registered users, which will help the doctors to provide effective treatment.
The system will also provide an interface to help in the continuity of treatment along with the hospitals the pharmacies and Laboratories of the hospitals are also automated to facilitate the citizens with a minimum waiting period.
Cochin Smart Mission Ltd has successfully upgraded the ICT infrastructure of General Hospital Ernakulam to implement the eHealth solution After General Hospital CSML initiated eHealth implementation in other primary secondary and tertiary hospitals in Ernakulam.
