    Even though it has the same melody, the Imperial Anthem has a better, far more embellished end than "Deutschlandlied" (and is better as result for me).

      @alfredttarski4521 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Kameliius No, it wasn't. And your puerile reply does nothing to show otherwise. Your protestations that you are Austrian, much more knowledgeable than the majority of your fellow Austrians, and in addition to that a bit of a pan-German, if true at all, are completely irrelevant details of your biography that are of no interest to anyone but yourself. They are certainly no proof of your claim that the piece by Renner and Kienzl has ever been an official anthem of the Austrian Republic in any of its incarnations.
      An anthem to be an official one has to be adopted by a resolution of parliament. This never happened. And not only was this piece never an official anthem, it was also deeply unpopular with the majority of Austrians.
      Whatever it is you are completely immersed in, it's clearly not Austrian history.

    • @Kameliius
      @Kameliius Před 2 lety +1

      @@alfredttarski4521 Well, you are right, it never was used officially but rather unofficially. There’s only one thing that you’re wrong about and it’s you saying that it wasn’t popular. In fact, it was very popular to the point people just took it as anthem although never officially being the anthem of German Austria. The people were just tired of Habsburg regency and therefore the old Imperial Anthem

      yes, but at the time, there was Prussia, Bavaira, and the Holy Roman Empire (which was the rest of modern Germany, Austria, and parts of Hungary). Then there were the successor states of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth that had German-speaking regions (such as Moravia), which were going in and out of the Holy Roman Empire as the seasons changed. So to be German, at the time, had not so much to do with the later identity that we recognise today as the Federal Republic of Germany, but the Holy Roman Empire (later called the Austro-Hungarian Empire after much of their states went to the North German Confederacy that was to become Imperial Germany).
