The gasket bead needs to be on the inboard side of the bolt holes so it doesn't leak.

I guess I need to do a tutorial video for mechanics to know how to put sealants on mating surfaces properly. So when you see all that sealant squish out on the outside all that sealant is squishing out on the inside too. you basically had 10 times more sealant than you need on there to do it right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Valvoline SynPower fluid you are using that already has the friction modifier additive in it for a LS? This video was a good starting point for me as I am about to service my rear diff for the first time. Thanks!

If you use a steel putty knife, you can hammer it between the cover and diff.

I was under the impression this would be showing a actual gasket being installed. But you used rtv not a actual prefabricated gasket? Also you said there is no torque requirements . But there is. Also id think allowing the caliper to dangle freely might damage the brake line. Whether youre replacing the caliper or installing a new one. Still dont want to damage that line mame. Sorry if i come across negativity. No ill intentions meant. Thanks

These videos seem to ignore one big important tip: loosen the fill bolt first. If you can't get it out, then you can't put new fluid in. Better to drive with old oil than no oil.

So, it's okay to put Valvoline 75/140 synthetic, instead of Motorcraft? I thought those differential break if you don't use Motorcraft fluids? At least that's what a mechanic told me.
