- After being abandoned in a field for 10 years (not usually what we mean when we say "built for off road") this 1983 Jeep CJ7 is in dire need of a little TLC! But first things first, we have to clean up the droppings from the Jeep's most recent residents....rats.

Can't get enough of Chris and Bec's episodes! Keep them coming!!!!
Agreed!
Definitely make sure when you're working on an old car like this that you take hantavirus seriously! Make sure there is good ventilation, and I normally wear a surgical mask when I have to clean stuff like this.
The Chris and Bec videos are the best. And working on a CJ AND a Scout? Heaven. Keep these old school projects coming.
I personally know this Jeep, and I just need to say it's beautiful to see it getting the work and TLC it needs
We're happy to see it getting done, Son:) I think you were the last person to actually drive it!
The sockets to reset the wiper hole, looks like something I’ve done a time or two, necessity is the mother of invention.
Thanks to Chris and Bec - you're making my dream come true! Can't wait to see the final product and start planning some excursions:) Go, Lite Brite!!!
Always look forward to another episode of Chris and Bec in the shop!
Nice, I love both of those rigs. I'm sure they are going to be bad a$$. I have a 77 CJ7. It was a barn find, I slowly restored it. Now I daily drive it, man I love this Jeep! I would love a Scout too.
Brittany and Kevin are great and I do like the sights and adventures, but Chris and Bec are FANTASTIC. the builds are great, thank you. Sorry guys I just like the mechanical side a skosh better.
Oh Britt is not going to enjoy this one lol.
That’s totally fine! 😊 As they say - there’s an ass for every seat! Kev & I can work on rigs, and did for years, but we don’t enjoy it. We prefer driving and traveling. So it’s awesome to have someone who’s passionate about fabrication and repairs on the team! We all get to do what we love & share it with our viewers. 🤙
@@LiteBrite As much as I like the garage side, it would get quite boring without you guys showing us adventures we can only dream of. Being 69 (wife 67) and both of us disabled, all you guys provide something for us. Y’all are one of the first I check for new videos everyday. Thank you for all the content.
Smiling!
Had 3 CJ's back in the day, all had 304 V8's that run good. Truth be told, more fun with them than my 2 door JK Rubicon, same story with my 87 Wrangler. Best thing about the JK is AC.
You two make my day. Life is good.
Nice to see two old vehicles in that good of shape!! Looking forward to watching the progress on both!😃
I'm so glad that they didn't make it to the scrap yard. I used to see vehicles sitting everywhere, now not so much... Have a great week guys!!! ❤❤💯🤙
all these chris and bec vids are always awesome!!!
I want that CJ 7 I love those old Jeeps!!! My Dad has a 76 CJ5 I can barely get in it but I hope to get it from him someday it’s in rough shape but I want to do a rebuild on it! And keep it till I pass it on to My Grandson one day! Love the Scout too They Make Great Rigs!!
At least Mickey and family didn't eat the seats. My aunt's car was in the garage for at least 10 yrs +, Mickey and fam got everywhere
The CJ7's new name will be Mickey...lol Nice find Chris and Bec 1👍🇨🇦✌️
I remember CD players.........oh man.........pups!! My first car had a telegraph machine. You couldn't sing along unless you knew morse code.
The thing I like about you guys pointing out rust is that it most likely will be removed.
Here I am trying to play Catch up again,
Just amazes me that a couple of Young people like Chris and Beck can Strip a Vehicle down to just the body and then rebuild it Back to a Running working Vehicle again, Can't wait to see what they Both are Like when Ya'll are Finnished Rebuilding Them!🍻🇺🇸,and another great video as always!😊
Friend of mine had a '78 CJ7 with the 302 in it. It was so much fun out four wheelin.
Being from Wisconsin, that Jeep is almost perfect. You would have found 4wheels and a pile of rust here. Great find guys.
We have a lot of critters out where we live - oh, the wonders of anti-rodent tape!
Can't wait to see how the scout 80 turns out my dad had one of those back in th 80's ran good and wheeled off road very well
I had the same problem with my Jeep and shop until a rat snake moved in. Now I don't have rats or unwanted guests....lol
Fun, fabricating fantastic friends! Fabulous! Ever hear of Haunta Virus? Rodent City Jeepers! I haven’t seen a rolling Scout in years, but I’m old enough to have driven a new one, when they were new! Love these shop vids. LiteBriteNationHouseOfMouse!
That’s what I was thinking too, I lost my HS best friend to Hanta Virus, nasty stuff.
I just saw this jeep in person the other day. It looks sweet now! Good job.
Love the Shop videos! Chris & Bec just kill it!
Harness break down was great!
Jeep + Rats had me thinking for a minute Chris and Bec were doing a collab with Paul and FabRats. I'd love to see them working together.
Fun restoration video. Thanks!
My grandpa had an old scout. I miss it.
Hello from Argentina, be careful with the hanta virus, always wear a mask, excellent videos
A team like no other👍Love these Bec n Chris project vids! Thanks LB crew✌️
I might suggest you guys invest in a cold cut chop saw. It is much nicer to use than an abrasive cut off wheel. The cold cut saw cuts tubing with ease and leaves a much nicer edge. I have a Makita and love it.
We had a 74 cj. It had a 2 low in the tk. It was ordered for a guy that had a belt drive sawmill He ran the belt with the rt rear wheel. Had a scout we used to hunt with. Finally just berried it. Cause everything was rusted out. Most scouts had lockers from the factory. Optional was a 4 cylinder diesel.
Thanks for another fun shop video. Cool projects.
You two are great.
I remember using a chinesium harness in one of my projects too.
Buy once, cry once.
Great Content and Video 👍
Thanx for Sharing your experience and knowledge with us
Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
I know that CJ is gonna be really cool
My old boss used to have a scout like that. It was all kinds of awesome. The only thing about it was that the fan (in stock form) was so close to the rad that it would chew a big hole in the fins if it flexed out
You might say the mice had a field day with the CJ.
Im replacing my whole harness in my 83 CJ-7 RENEGADE. I went with the PAINLESS harness. It is an amazing product. Love how they print on the wire what its for. The instructions are amazing as well with a ton of color pictures.
That's a fairly well optioned jeep. Looks like maybe a Laredo. They would have come with the bright rocker cover.
Like watching the both of you work in the garage
Had a co-worker many years ago with an International H. Scout. I will not forget the engine idle. Might have been a four cylinder engine, but would have a miss-fire like it was missing a cylinder. (Sounded like it had ignition timing built for five, but running on four). Crazy sound! Was a distinct and regular miss-fire pattern.
Kevin And Brit. If your headed to Jeep Beach Fest, consider running down to Key West. The drive (top down) is amazing.
OK, now those are definitely projects! Happy Trails to LBN!
Can’t wait to see the next shop video !
looks like the frame is going to be an offroad trailer. nice job on this episode!
Love the shop videos!
I had an 8-track in my 79 Riviera... Had to put an 8-track to cassette tape adapter in it.
I helped one of my friends put a r2.8 cummins a 5 speedmand a 4 speed atlas in a scout just like that one and ir is awsome. It crawls awsome me made a 4 link front and rear all on fox dual rate coil overs with bypass and dana 60s on 38s it looks awsome and crawls amazing. I had to tlk him in to the cummins but hes glad he did it now
Another great video ♥️♥️
How come we haven't seen your jeep on ejs the one you' been waiting for. I been following that stretch lj that's your I wanna see how it looks I knoe it's beautiful
Yes, Bec & Chris show. I say over land camper you are building 🤪
WOW!! An actual RAT ROD!!
Heck yeah…Scout!!!
Name the Jeep “field-day”. 😂 personality at its best. 👍🏼
His name is Ragnarok:) I'm trying to talk my husband into putting Thor's hammer on the hood😂
Lite Brite Garage mother lovers. Thank you for your time.
That "frame" looks like a part for the mini truck build..
I think Beck is working on a small camper trailer frame to pull behind the cj7...
Next time you should wear a respirator to clean mouse poo as you can contract Hantavirus
I'm a big fan of all the videos you guys make I definitely watching all the builds I would like get wedsite for the wiring I would like to buy new wiring harness for my YJ
406 garage may be able to help on parts if needed
Love the Chris and Bec’s videos! I haven’t seen any progress on Bec’s Jeep, did I miss it some how?
Jeeps forever
Where the hell does one learn how to be a one-man car manufacturing company? I swear if someone is going to build terminator robots, they'll soon be coming out of the shop in Utah!
I like Chris and Bec videos best too.
We need more shop videos!!!!!! 😅😅😅
clear coat those patina jeep seats... LOL.
So much rats nest. Can’t believe how much debris came out.
I was waiting for one to jump out
You should have seen it before we cleaned it out and hauled it to Chris and Bec; it was WORSE😂
Maybe you should put a roll cage in it! (And of course new seats, headlights, and just replace everything)
Roll cage is next on our list:) My wife made me stick to a budget, can you believe it???
We like shop videos!
If anyone is interested in the story behind the CJ let me know and I'll post it.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the CJ7. I would like to be able to find A 77CJ5 renegade to rebuild. Have a question If Jeep would put lock out hubs on the new vehicles? How much would that help the gas mileage?
Imo opinion a minimum of 1 mpg. Less rotating weight is always a savings
Might wanna take off the factory rocker guards as they notoriously rot behind there, if you're going to hit all all the rust spots.
CHRIS and BEC Nice Job . Chris what tool do use to release the pins
on the Electrical plugs . I have 2 different sets . I don't care much for
either one :-))
👍👍👍
The new name has to be Field Day
Hey Chris , you should look into “Panel Bond” you use it in place of welding replacement panel pieces . It is what car manufacturers use to build cars these days.. its like an epoxy and it is stronger than the metal itself . I had rockers replaced on one of my Jeeps and used that and it is awesome, and ya don’t have to worry about rust like you do when you weld body panels almost always it will rust where the welds are first similar to an exhaust.. just a pro tip for ya , most body shops use it instead of welding these days , much better option..👍
So, Bec... Number one is clean out all the number two?
Extra Crispy
👍
👍❤️ #Jellynation
Fun fact that's! Why thay call it a squirrel cage fan...👍😆
Did you get a chance to test the cassette player to see if that still worked?
Feel sorry for the shop vac
So it's true, Jeeps never die. They get resurrected or parted out. I think there's a lot of angry mice over this one being restored.
Yep - you should have seen it BEFORE I took it to Chris and Bec....I thought I had cleaned it out pretty well but I guess not.
Love watching Chris and Beck!
On a side note, I posted a video needing help with a 70 c-10 barn find in Oklahoma. If Kevin, Brittany, Chris, or Beck know of anyone in oklahoma that could help me, or could provide any guidance, I would greatly appreciate it!
Can you say Hantavirus boys and girls? Vacuuming all of that mouse poop was a sucky, crappy job. 💩. Hey vacuuming is supposed to suck, right? 😁
Kind of my thoughts too. I'm thinking there is a HEPA filter on that vac. Time for a new filter.
I wouldn't touch that job without a mask and gloves just for that reason.
1:03 you mean number 2😂
Will you guys be at Jeep Beach?
Who was the company that you got the wiring harness from?
Whered the square body cab and parts goo!?!?!
Are cross and Beth a couple? If not criss is really missing the boat!
Yay old vehicles! Lol
Guessing that you are building some type of trailer???
You know, that mouse poop can carry Hanta Virus, right?
We honestly aren’t sure if they did know that; but we’re assuming they didn’t. This project was worked on while we weren’t home, otherwise we definitely would have had them wear masks & gloves. 😅
