- I'm using Caran D'Ache Neocolor II water soluble crayons for the first time! This video shows a bit of my thought process as I try out this new medium. I decided to try a background on this page of Dobby the house elf. The paper in the Harry Potter Coloring Book is not the greatest for wet mediums, and I still have some practice ahead of me!

I love seeing so many videos from you lately! I love your coloring and I think we can learn a lot from your techniques!
Amberle Silencia oh good! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! I know they’ve been frequent and I was hoping none of my subscribers was feeling like they’re being spammed! 😝 I’m trying to get as much quality content as I can out right now before I have to slow down when classes start again at the end of September.
@@WillowHues No no, I enjoy getting spamed with new videos!! :-D Especially I enjoyed your completed pages video recently! Enjoy your time off classes! Happy coloring!
I think it looks great
Michaela Dodge thank you!!
The white Prisma made all the difference. If I remember correctly on Instagram the left side of the picture isn't shown so that it looks like Dobby stands in the shadows and a ray of light hits him from the right side. I liked that picture very much.
i think it turned out pretty well for your first time! looking forward to seeing you play around with the neocolors some more, im thinking of buying some for myself but oh man they are expensive haha! do you think the 40 set is a good choice? a wide enough colour range without having way too many unnecessary shades
Aly J I had some Amazon money from my birthday and used that to purchase the largest set I could. I debated heavily between these and the Lyra Aquarell which are supposed to be just as nice, but slightly cheaper. A pack of 48 for those was about the same price as the 40 set of neocolors. The reason I ended up going for the neocolors was because I could add to my set by buying open stock. For now I think the colors I have are fine, however I did go out and buy two beige colored ones to have as well
@@WillowHues same here! been looking at lyra as well since the 48 set is about $10 cheaper than the 40 neocolors..but then on the other hand everyone seems to LOVE the neocolors plus like you mentioned they come open stock which is a plus and you can always slowly add to the collection over time, although in canada its almost impossible to find a store here that sells open stock or a website that can ship here without shipping being more than the actual products themselves
Aly J I’m fortunate that I live in a bit of a hippy town with a number of art stores that carry a lot of open stock products. I had a much harder time before I moved here a year ago. I might recommend getting the Lyras for now to see if it’s a medium you like, and then getting neocolors later if you feel like you want more color choices
Are these similar to Gelatos? I love the white accent!
I haven’t used the Gelatos yet. I think Gelatos have a softer consistency when dry than these do, but you could use Gelatos in this same way!
