Just keep driving it. They will age nicely if you keep up with the maintenance and repairs. These are never meant to be investment vehicles but for personal decadence.
I just bought a 2021 m850 gc with under 30k miles. It has everything option available and all the carbon fiber. MSRP was 133k. I paid 62k so I’m not shocked at that offer.
Mate its normal that u get less money from a Dealer. It has nothing to do with M-Lite or how some people say, its bcs of the N63...btw for some people who dont know the N63 got reworked and its not the same as the old N63 that was in a pre-f M550i. It happened to my C63s aswell, Mercedes offered me 45k€. I sold it by myself for 55k.
No offense but thats what happened when you buy a non-M car, I do hope you get the most you can back in resale but definitely get an M next time! Best of luck to you!
@@Supercaradventures just from me personally, my G83 I got for $98K and is probably worth $75-80K now and I have a G05 X5 (Base non-M) which I got for $75K but its worth only like $38K now so the non-m cars definitely depreciate more. You have an M-Lite tho so luckily you still have some retained value in yours! Definitely shop around so you can get as much back as can! Wish you the best!
sounds like patrick bmw. if they give you a good trade in value they shoot themselves in the foot as it will sit in there used car inventory for months on end. Then they take a loss and wholesale it at auction
I've done some of my own research, and generally M cars do depreciate better than their non-M counterparts. But I'm not seeing this being the case with the 8 series. Check out this data: www.iseecars.com/compare/bmw-8_series-m850i_xdrive_gran_coupe-vs-bmw-m8-competition . 5 year depreciation is almost identical
@@Supercaradventures N63 cars are junk in terms of resale. Anything BMW twin turbo V8 depreciates fast. Everyone knows those cars are going to be a nightmare in the next 5 years so nobody wants them.
So you want retail numbers for a trade in…..Now from a business sense why would a dealership buy a car to make no profit? I can tell you these M850 GC. Aren’t flying off the lots. They tend to sit until someone like you comes along. They then buy it and get upset because they bought a depreciating asset. Should have gone for the M car bud. If you are financing. I would start making some extra payments to get yourself in a positive equity position. If you own it cash then find some other sucker to buy it.
@hexagonosaurus5848 I've owned a convertible M850 for three years and have connected with other owners during this time. The only known issues are to change injectors at around 50k miles. I've had more issues from my other performance cars. The engines codes TU3 are solid...Please research.

Absolutely agree!

58k is exactly what i assumed they would offer its just how it goes the same thing happened to the 650i grand coupe and any other car in the class.

A very well-informed response, and I totally agree!
yes thats about right tbh , there just gonna go sell it for maybe 65000
4:40 then you should keep it IMO. its a great car!
Thanks, it very much is a great car. I'm in no rush to sell it
Not surprising. The 8 series drops faster then them all.
8 SERIES are renowned for this, the shape is just too dramatically large and odd. always go M for prestige.

I've heard that before but is there any data showing that M cars depreciate any less?

Take it somewhere else and look online to see how much it goes for on different sites
That's the plan

Unfortunate reality of owning a non-m car. They depreciate badly
I don't know, is it just non-M cars?
Even M cars lose value but for example my 2018 m5 with 60k miles got the same offer as your m850

While true about the N63, BMW has improved the reliability of that engine a lot over the last 13 yrs
New car depreciates. Shock horror!

Why would you go to a dealer ? What did you expect ? Just get a manual M3 then and stop complaining. N/S63 BMWs are junk.
The V8s were completely redesigned in 2018 and are extremely reliable... Please do your homework.
@@trueyork9290 Nope. The N63 has been redesigned 5 times, its still shit.
