Why no BMW M8 Comp Gran Coupe? While it might seem the more logical rival to the RS7, the M8 Comp is actually $125,900 more expensive in Australia! So it's the M850i that is the closer match in price and performance.

Actually it was pretty interesting. You can see in whole youtube a M8 smashing RS7, E63 etc. We know that M8 is a beast but there is not much to watch how 850, which is actually fast, would deal with top performers and those guys showed us.
@BUĞRA DOLDUR Audi is a part of VW Group. They can't make cars too powerful, too expensive or too luxurious to compete against their sister brands like Porsche or Bentley. They can't afford cannibalism. If you want faster car than rs6, go for Panamera Sport Turismo. BMW and Benz don't have such problems.

I just traded my RS5 for a 2019 M4 Comp. Wait a year or so and save some serious cash. Are new Bmw's and Audi's really worth that much when you are going close to supercar territory. Handling wise, for me, Audi's quattro system is near perfection and pin sharp, BMW's handling is different, solid but you can easy spin it and more fun. Depends what type of car you want I guess - still on the fence but if the UK was always sunny definitely would go for the BMW as more fun. So in Australia I love the BMW M8 or in the UK the RS7 for sure! Both look awesome though so I don't you can go wrong as long you know how you will drive in the different climates

I'm just 15 years old, but I wish that Audi RS7 a long time. But how I said, I'm just 15 and I can't drive yet and the RS7 cannot be my first car because it's so expensive.
The car is so beautiful, fast and I think the experience of this car must be great.

Correct test is BMW M8 C and AUDI RS7, but not at all 850GC. M8 C break it.
nope... The M8 C and M8 C GC are way to fast for the Audi RS7. Not even the R8 is faster than the M8 C and the M8 C isn't even the fastest version. There still coming two faster versions. The M8 CS and M8 CSL. The M8 CSL would have 650hp or 700hp.
You need to wait for an RS6 performance to come out, and then test that vs an M5 comp... or just race tuned cars... I can tell you, a tuned RS6 will have its way...

Also, RS7 wouldn't compete with the M8 C since the RS7 doesn't have a performance variant yet so therefore it competes with the M8 without the Competition Package.

BMW M850 GC starts at $108k. Audi RS7 starts at $114k. Where did you get your numbers in regards to price?
That sounds like American pricing? In Australia, the Audi RS7 is $224K while the BMW M850i GC is $280K (both before on-roads)
RRP for an RS7 is $290k+

Performance is subjective to several factors , the driver , it’s equipment and how it’s set up and the car it self . A simple example : 5 pounds difference in tire air pressure will effect your time/speed.

Exactly, the S7 competes with the M850i GC. The RS7 competes with the M8 GC. Was a very unfair comparison, and should have showcased each manufacturers flagship model regardless of price.

Maybe 3 years ago this could have been true, but RS7 starts at almost $30k more and M850i is similar in 0-60. That's why I bought it over the RS7. At that price point I would have gone M8

The times for the m850 were slower than what ive seen in the past. Infact there usually pretty much identical to the rs7 times 3.5/11.5
i'm actually looking for an M8 comp right now (to buy used: 2020) and the price of it (used) is the same as the RS7... Obviously M8 comp is way quicker and more fun, but the main point is that the price of RS7 used (new body) is similar to M8 comp!!! not m850...

I had a 2015 audi S5 stage 3. Unbelievable car. And the quattro AWD system is FAR superior to the BMW's X-Drive. But parts for both will break the bank.

For all of the BMW ppl complaining about it not being the M8 comp?! The direct competition would have been the Rs7 vs. M6 both 4 liter with twin turbo's but the BMW would have gotten dragged because it only makes 500+ HP the M8 is a 2 dr car. Audi is a 4 dr. Apples to Oranges!

I dony know your prices but in EU the fully loaded bmw M850i gran coupe is 145000 euros and the rs7 is aboit 170000, so the Beemer is a much better choice

You did not watch the whole video. His logic was to match the same price competition. M8 is way more expensive. M8 should compete against GT63s, but unfortunately Audi does not have the model in this range. RS7 shall against the older M6 and CLS63s. But sadly now Mercedes top trim for cls is cls 53 which compete with s7. And no more glorious 6 series for bmw 😞

I think the mapping of the engine is what’s holding M850i back, BMW has to justify the existence of the M8. I reckon an easy ECU tune could unleash enough power to beat the RS7.

lol, except the RS7 has bigger turbos (even than the M8) and is running a very conservative tune out of the factory - highlighting how much headroom VAG have in the drivetrain...note the same motor is in the URUS putting out 480kw... My stage 1 RS6 is doing 10.3-4 and 100-200 in under 6 seconds...Now thats value for money.
