The Ram ProMaster chassis we have in the US is actually the Fiat Chassis from Europe. There are several companies here in the US that have replaced well known US models with the European versions.
Yep, the Fiat Ducato is the original Van. Here in Europe the Fiat Ducato is also rebranded as Citroën and Peugeot and in the U.S and Canada as the Ram Promaster. The dashboard and most things are the same, only engines will be different. The Fiat Ducato and Ram Promaster are available with automatic transmission. The Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer only have a 6 speed manual transmissions in Europe.
I like the interior design on all of them, very classy. The class B on the Fiat chassis is too tight. Not sure why it's like it is. It looks the same as the ones here, but I think it may be narrower. I really like the first, my style, even though the shower looked like a tight squeeze to get in. I like all the sky lights!
I love seeing you guys enjoyed your European trip. Most of the European showers seem built for small people. The wooden bed slats have been European thing for years. It's fun to see how many things in the RV industry carrys over to both continents, though I'd have to tip my hat to the quality, fit and finish of Europe's RV manufacturers
Great to see you over in Europe. Lack is very beautiful village and the abbey is facinating. If you want to eat the best food in a pub, dont choose the fish and chips, pies are always better. There are now some really good restaurants of all nationalities if you know where to find them. Enjoy the rest of the trip.
The entry doors!! It is all about the entry doors! No stupid windows you can’t open the blind on without a ladder! And pull across screen that doesn’t get in the way! And last but not least .. a F-ing TRASH CAN!! Oh and storage cubbies that use all that wasted space. Such a seeming small thing but so huge in a small rv. ❤😊
Love the review and the "affordable" RV's. Such attention to detail. Perhaps the reason the Fiat felt like the Ram, is that Fiat owns Ram (Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge). With the economies of shared platforms, it is not surprising and changes, engine evolution, etc may suggest next generation Ram. Lacock was a nice quaint town, but my first impression was...too many people as everyone was walking on the street. Hope you were able to make it a little west to the town of Bath with it's rich Roman history and bringing their bath culture with them in their northern conquest expansion of the Roman Empire.
Here in Europe, motorhomes are built according to their total weight and specified payload. This has everything to do with the fact that above 3500 kg or 7716 lbs you can only drive with a small driver's license, above that you need a truck driver's license, or CDL. Which is sometimes difficult for an older age group. Also the reason that you don't find slide outs in most campers, they increase the weight, and you end up in a different category of driver's license. Be inventive with design and put a lot of effort into a camper to bring a beautiful and solid product onto the market. The annual technical checks on motorhomes are also strict in Europe for safety and reliability.
@Matt. You missed the storage under the bed on the Itengra with walk around bed European RV’s are designed for smaller people and are definitely much better and much cheaper than US ones
I was going to post something similar. It looked like there was additional wardrobe storage under the passenger side bed in the twin bed model the walked in.

love the slim lined bus, that i assume fits better on back roads. and i love the mich tires as they do stick better to the road, i know this first hand, after switching out crappy tires on a new truck, to mich’s. they have a sticky compound that makes it more sticky and makes driving so much safer in the rain and snow.
Great video. It’s funny but you walked right past another RV reviewer. He’s from the UK so you probably don’t know his work. See if you can get the Hymer BML i880 for review! Europe has the best floor plans and execution of quality vehicles than we get here.
I like the affordability of the Thor model 760QF. Neat to see a door on the driver's side! That's different. Do the front seats swivel? The split bath is good, more room for shower. Too bad no PPP. Bedroom is nice. Plenty of storage, including that awesome garage! Only dislikes I can see in your quick review is the tiny B size kitchen & the neck wrecker view for the living area TV. Only great seats would be if the front seats swivel. Option would be televator behind dinette. The airstream vibe probably comes from no slide outs.
#2 C/ B+: Didn't see a TV in living area. Andrea, there was a cord pull for raising the curtains. Great garage as before. #3 Class B: kinda what I expected on a B, but the price is way lower than B's in us. Lots of interior storage, love the permanent bed and the front dining/ work area, + that the front seats swivel. Will was so cute with his shirt & steak pie. I don't like skin or scales on my fish 🐟 either Jen.
American RV manufacturers need to pay attention to the modern styling of these vehicles. So much better than the country_log_cabin look of 90% of US RV's...

These B / B+ look a lot like what we have in North America EXCEPT at the price point .:. #vanlife .:. I don’t think a B costs 50% more to make in North America - too much niche halo over here .:. If the B van that felt just like a Promaster was on a Ducato chassis (looked like it), Matt / Andrea ur right on - it is - Stellantis (FCA) uses common design for Europe and North America, probably a different seat height to change the viewing angle - there’s a diesel version of Promaster but I don’t know if it’s still the same engine (used to be) with 15% more torque

Much prefer the Mercedes Benz to the Fiat Chassis based on engine quality and longevity. Nice overview of the different classes of motorcoaches! Thanks Matt and Andrea!
Engine quality is the same for Fiat and merc, but fiat is front-wheel drive and merc rear. I drive fiat, and in some cases the lack of grip of fwd is a pain in the but.
Thank you Matt and Andrea for the eye opener trade show visit. All European motor homes have all the basic essentials functionalities (bed, kitchen, sitting area to eat, fridge freezer, oven, shower, toilet, garage for storage), a lot of natural light and windows, light colour interiors, comfortable living space, quality built at a fair price. Those European made motorhomes cannot be imported in the USA or Canada (trade barrier to protect US RV industry). I wish I could import an European made motor home… because I cannot find a superior or equal US made motor home in the class B and B+. Thor Industries who bought the european maker Hymer has launch the American made “Rangeline” thru Airstream and it missing a lot of functionality the Hymer models have. The Winnebago Ekko is almost like a Hymer but it does not have all the European motor home design and features. Why can’t we get what they have in Europe?
To me, these European RVs channel the US "upscale" RVs of the 80's. The ones with the all fiberglass bodies. Not using the "box" structure made for much more sleek looking RVs but I could never get into them as they seemed to sacrifice too much utility and room just to look cool. I just cannot imagine owning a slide-less RV these days. I was always so curious how they worked I made it a point to learn all about the mechanisms and how to maintain them. I've never had any enduing issues with the slide equipped RVs I've owned although I've had to correct incompetent installations on several. The basic mechanics of them are good, the people who try to put them together just do not care.
That Mercedes B+ is more like the Tiffin Wayfarer 25LW or the Thor Tiburon 24XL knockoff. I wish that the Winnebago Navion 24V had that big garage. It would put it way ahead of the competition. Problem with these Mercedes based RV's is that big garage is almost useless with a relatively low OCCC. 🥺 Question is, can you get two ebikes in there?
@@TheRobertTromp understood, but so do the Tiffin and Thor rear twin bed versions but they have the similar large garage in the back. So Winnebago could do it if they wanted to but, as I said before, might not be that useful due to OCCC limits.
Hey guys.. They better keep these in Europe.. They're built like a boat. They also remind me of motorhomes built in the 60s and 70s. Dislikes.. To many to list. Likes.. None !! Besides it's a Fiat.. Fiat is having so many problems and recalls in their autos.. Since Fiat took over Jeep a couple of years ago, they are also having recalls. Fiat has terrible quality control, at least for now.
Why can’t US manufactures make something like this. Love Love Love the no slides.

The Euro designs are quite attractive and clever.
The rear bed layout is hopeful for couples. We need a double bed together with gaps either side to get in/out

The ProMaster is the US version of the Fiat Ducato.
Not only do these RVs look better than most production units in the US, they also look like they are built much better.

Would love for you to review the Wingamm Oasi 540.1. It’s a mini camper that is less than 18ft long, fits in a normal sized parking spot.

The first two were very comfortable looking for their size👍but the third one was too small and seemed very claustrophobic and far less livable☹️

Its the weight limitation on the drivers license. Standard max 3500kg. That’s why most are on the front wheel drive fiats.

Yes ebikes fit. But mind you, navion has a black tank and generator. That is where the garage space comes in.
