Yeah, I don’t remember it having two rapier swords, especially given that sword style really isn’t well suited to duel-wielding

in the anime, the blade of sword usually gets broken / explodes, and he uses the hilt to attach another blade stored in its skirt weapon rack (only uses one at a time)
I bought this and the Barbatos from the same line and something about these kits, especially the barbatos makes these an absolute joy to paint. I didn't do anything special but take some spraypaint and Metalic paint markers. Still somehow the Full Mechanics Barbatos was the most enjoyment i have had in custom painting a kit and is probably one of my best looking as I'm not to great at painting kits in the first place. I suspect the distinct inner frame, obvious piping of said frame, and easily distinguishable armor plating make it idiot proof in painting.
I haven't had the polycap problem but I have had these dedicated on action bases since build. They have maintained integrity since being made several years ago. I feel these are good, big kits to practice doing wacky things with as far as customization goes without breaking the bank.
Man the amount of MGs we don't have from ibo is staggering. This and Kimaris a must buy if MG comes out.
The only titans slaying anime I know is zeta gundam.

Blame bandai for the rushed writing. They pretty much just put out shows to promote the model kits, in turn the model kits promote the show.
Gabriel Agapito well you cannot blame bandai for story cause they technically don't make this anime, the one who make gundam franchise are sunrise and to be more specific the writer of the IBO main story are Mari Okada

For those curious: I was using one of those cheap box cutter knives because i couldn't find my nippers. Six stitches at 1am in the ER i have learned; Do not Gunpla and Drink
Hm, so I was thinking with watching this, I wonder if it's worthwhile to 3D print some replacement "polycaps", being of a stiffer plastic might help it
Depends, if you're using a regular FDM 3d printer then the layer lines could act like a file or sandpaper and get looser over time

It's just a matter of time until we get this released in MG. I'm definitely getting this one. This, along with BLR, Reginlaze Julia, and Astaroth Origin/ Rinascimento were my favorite IBO designs, although I think the Vidar would have been better with a flat bladed sword, preferably a single edged one.

Just built this kit in 2022, and it's already my favorite. Vidar caught my attention as soon as I saw it in IBO, I knew I had to have one. I don't have any new MG to compare to though. All I've built are HG kits, and a couple old Gundam Wing MGs.

I got this set about 6 months ago. I was impressed with the size, but it feels like a HG in MG scale. Got it for an HG price so it was still worth it. It does look good on the shelf.

For me I’m finding that poly caps are holding up and the plastic on plastic sections are the ones that are getting loose
damn i was just looking at the hg review before i realized the 1/100 review finally came out
so the things that i noticed were missing are 1 Rapier blade, and a pair of hands that don't have the joint in the hand. This kit only came with one rapier handle so no duel welding action and the extra pair of hands you had to switch the blue hand covers between each, so 6 hands and only 4 covers

Hey Mecha Gaikotsu thought of a nice video for info purposes. Why not go through all the real grade kits that you have or have built and give a rundown of how they've held up over time. Like what kits suffer from e.r.s. the worst to the ones that are still holding up. Just a thought. Also how has the rg quantal held up. Does it suffer the e.r.s. bad? Curious cause was thinking of making it my first full airbrush paint project.
With the MG Barbatos 4th form having come out we might actually get to see more MG IBO kits

Old video but informative... I recently obainted this kit and am currently working on it. I have mixed feelings about it, as mine is kind of a mixed bag. Some of the fit especially where the lower hydraulics are concerned were a PITA with mine. Definitely not the MG Barbatos quality if that's what anyone's looking for if they plan to build the Vidar. IMO, this kit reminds me of a mix between a no grade kit and qn HG kit. No one apparently makes a set of water slide decals for it that I've been able to find. This particular Gundam IMO, needs an MG version m, which we'll probably never see because Bandai is more concerned with popping out kits of 2.0 and 3.0 versions of the same kits over and over. Like the 1/100 Astray Golden Frame Mina, this is a kit I wish Daban would pick up on if Bandai isn't going to do an MG version. Also, this Vidar kit is selling at qbsurd prices for whatever reason. I hope the Bael that I have in the stash is a better kit.

How does this compare to the high grade considering that survived a fall off of a building? I know stuff like color separation will probably be worse but how does the articulation compare?

2:10 Given that Bandai made the MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos
[Form 4] and is releasing the _Expansion Set_ that includes parts to make Form 1, 2, 3, 5, 5 Ground Type, and 6... I think it's pretty much a given that Bandai intends to reuse the _Gundam Frame_ inner frame to make more MGs from IBO.

IF ONLLLYYYYYY, we had a mg vidar or bael that used the gundam frame from the mg barbatos, cause personally i prefer the bael design the most, followed by vidar, and then the barbatos lupus
