I have really fine wavy hair & it took me YEARS to figure it out because basically no one caters to it & there’s no info I’m on how to deal with it. What works for me is: 1. Once you’ve washed your hair, squeeze out all the excess water, squeeze out one small pump of gel (I use Tigi catwalk gel) & put it over your lengths & then gently lift & squeeze all your hair up to wring out any excesss water (do this with all your hair on one side, then flip your hair to the other side & repeat), if it feels like you’ve used to much, just rise a little bit off 2. Dry your hair with warm air but don’t flip it around too much or it’ll frizz 3. Once it’s most of the way dry, get a diffuser & dry it to completion, don’t be afraid to flip your hair around while you’re doing this You’ll get lightweight lightly defined beautiful hair
my hair is the same way! i was always confused why it was so frizzy in the summer before realizing my hair type. i use a curling cream to help the waves & control the frizz
😱 Oh my god, you actually uploaded a video…. I was thinking all day today about how I’ve run out of Kenna vibe videos to enjoy and wished your channel was as active as it used to be… I miss your presence all the time, Kenna. 💐 Even though this hair conversation doesn’t pertain to me nor interest me that much, I thoroughly enjoy your vibe, character, personality, decor, hobby and voice. ✨💕 ⏪️▶️⏩️ Sometimes I just play all of your videos in the background while I’m working on other things.
im so glad ure back !! i hav super short hair so this topic does not matter to me at all, yet i was glued to the screen ☆☆ ur videos were my absolute favourite content on youtube when i was a teen and i really started missing them the last few weeks& watched some of ur recent ones again, so the timing is oddly perfect 🐌🕸
for my bangs i just brush them forward onto my forehead and let them air dry, they swoop to the sides naturally since they are trying to curl but are too short to do so. i definitely plan to do some day in the life videos, i'm feeling inspired since the weather is finally warming up! x
Would love to see a video on hair styles!! The sulphate free stuff didn't work on my fine hair either, it just didn't seem to clean it. I switched back to Pantene and my hair loves it. Drugstore all the way!!
Never known anyone else who trims their split ends individually. Sometimes, when I'm at work and it's slow, I will grab scissors and literally just stand there over the trash can searching for and cutting off every one of my split ends. And my hair is really thick and coarse so it's a tedious activity, but somehow therapeutic as fuck. Also, I'm just now learning the water hardness level in my town is only 25?????? I feel fucking blessed rn
I remember voting it would last a month because one time you said in an older video that you like your hair short because you can't tolerate the feeling of it on your neck. Glad I was wrong cause this length suits you well!!
Your hair looks amazing! I know going to no heat can be hard. I did it about six years ago when I wanted my hair to actually grow past my shoulders. I had been using a flat iron on it nearly every day and it was just frying it. Once I stopped using heat and applying some good masks, it really changed. I had no idea my hair was as curly as it is and now it's down below my waist. :) I also let it air dry.
As a hairstylist, I think you’re doing a great job!! This video is so calming, I love the bird ambience in the background. Also, you remind me a lot of Chrissy Costanza from Against The Current ☺️
The little fish though!! 🐟💫My hair is also getting longer, almost down to my waist, and I would love to style it in waves and curls (preferably without using heat!). And since my hair is the longest it’s ever been in recent years, I’m still finding ways to reduce tangles and treat split ends. Have you ever used natural wooden brushes like ones made from bamboo or designed specifically for detangling? Thanks for the vid, I’m totally living for this aesthetic!
“Now I have to keep going out of pure spite .. probably - I’ll never cut it again” 🤣🤣 hilarious. I love the vibe of this video. Also your hair color(s), shell choker & chonky necklace 😍
Glad you're back, McKenna!! I could listen to you talk for hours, and would looove videos where you tell the story of your favourite books, or read your favourite poetry!
question if you get a chance! I followed you on instagram (not that i dont anymore lol i just dont use insta anymore) during parts of times you expressed frustration in the overstimulation of growing it out past the length you had it previous to deciding to grow it very long. how did you manage the overstimulation phases, (such as when it's at shoulder length and poking your neck and ears a lot before it gets long enough to properly pull back) ? Could you share a couple of the most helpful things you found?
Thank you so much!! I have a really similar hair texture to you (thin, curly/wavy) and I tried the curly girl method for yearsss, and it didnt work for me either. Just made my hair greasy :( Thank you so much for showing your routine!
I saw your videos years ago, and i was always sad that you kept your hair short. Your hair type and overall aesthetic really suits long hair. Imagine my delight when i checked back in, on a whim, and saw you now have waist-length hair. You look absolutely beautiful. 🙂 Edit: You should oil your hair after you wash it, and leave it in. It helps ro restore moisture lost through washing and protect it against future damage.
Our hair types and lengths are almost identical. I've been cutting my own hair since I was fourteen, and coloring for nearly two decades. Still, the way we handle our hair is generally quite different. I follow some long hair gals on CZcams, such as Holistic Habits and BeautyKLove, for all natural ways of growing hair, but I also have gotten some great tips from the Blowout Professor, in case I want to style more safely with heat a couple of times a year. I Love the look of your hair, though. What you have been doing to it makes it look fun and unique, as well as long and pretty. Many blessings to you.
Hi long hair girly here, my hair is past my thighs, i have not had my hair cut for 8+ years, you gave great advise that i do too, 1 more tip that i'm not sure if you do, use a silk pillow it's great for your hair, you are well on your way to Rapunzel hair. x
Im so so excited to watch this, I’ve missed you on “the youtube” so much ❤. I want to grow my hair but I keep impulsively hacking it of then regretting it. I feel trapped and agitated by my hair sometimes (does that make sense?) but I hate to see me with it shorter than, at least, shoulder length. 😢
hi! i have a question; while bleaching the white streak, did you use 30 vol or 10 vol? do you have any tips on how to preserve the natural waves while also bleaching? bcs i’m afraid to ruin my texture 🫠. your waves look great and homogenous, even on the white!!
i use 20 volume! and the way to preserve the natural texture is the same as i mentioned in the vid,, bleach it only once and only do root touch ups. if you only do root touch ups and never overlap then that means that all of your blonde is only ever getting bleached once, and if you keep it moisturized and no heat then there should be pretty much no damage to it and your curls or waves should be fine! it's when you bleach over the hair multiple times that it really starts to fry.
i got the same bob cut you did when i was 14 bc you have a similar hair texture to me and after 7 years i coincidentally am also growing out my hair (made it a few inches past the collarbone!) this video couldn't have come at a better time :)
i do similar things, but i also wear a bonnet and use those rubber scrub brush things with my shampoo because i think it helps to stimulate the hair follicles
this was so helpful! do you do anything special when you go to sleep to maintain your curls and prevent tangles? i have a similar wavy fine hair texture and i can never figure out how to make it last overnight, always becomes frizzy the next morning and i have no choice but to brush it😭
i sleep with a silk pillowcase! also i sleep on my back like a corpse with my hair draped above me and i don't really move in my sleep so that probably helps as well lol
Wait this might be creepy but I thought I saw you walking in Boston the other day! I recognized the hair immediately! it was pretty weird because I've been watching your videos ever since you started posting so I wanted to say hi but you were all the way across the street. But I'm happy you're posting again!! I always love to see your youtube videos
My hair texture is the same so I struggle with trying not to put too much hair product or just try to focus on the ends. Few tricks worked for me: conditioning & using hair mask (oplex) before shampooing or without and washing with cold water after cuz it gives more hair volume and softness.
if you're a proper hair stylist... avert ye eyes. everyone else,, enjoy!
this vid feels so old school youtube i love it
Absolutely, I miss old school CZcams
Your soft voice is soothing and cute. Thanks for posting.

I love how your brain is always like: “How can I do this myself?” That’s what we ❤about you!
🎉true

i've thought about it since i get the request a lot! we'll see!

Freakin love the mermaid boho tumblr vibes, this video felt like the throwback we all desperately needed and I swear that healed me a little bit 🌊🌴🐚

that's so sweet, thank you! x
I will now spend my day rewatching all of your videos.

I always liked you Kenna. I'm glad you're still uploading.
I love this sit down talk video, with singing birds. It feels so peaceful and inspiring for some reason
Yes plz, show us how you style your bangs. My hair is naturally curly but I’ve been having trouble curling my hair, especially my damn bangs! 🫣
Yes, please. I MUST know how you style your bangs! Please show us! Xxoo
for my bangs i just brush them forward onto my forehead and let them air dry, they swoop to the sides naturally since they are trying to curl but are too short to do so.

Please upload videos more often, I absolutely love your content 🫶🏽xoxo

I recently learned this is called "Search and Destroy" lol. My hair is too short to hunt for split ends... but one day!
I do this 😅
I did that too before!
I remember voting it would last a month because one time you said in an older video that you like your hair short because you can't tolerate the feeling of it on your neck. Glad I was wrong cause this length suits you well!!
any tips for arranging my bangs like that?? I also let mine air dry but I feel like the brushing or combs or whatever play a part? :) Loved the video
I've always loved your hair texture, since mine is pretty similar, so thanks for the vid! 🙏🏼💕
Wow, you guys are so lucky 😍
I just came to listen to your voice, like a bit of asmr, but this turned out to be very helpful for me, thank you !
AHHH SHES BACK YALL!!!

I miss you on CZcams, so happy to see this video. I would love to see what a day in your life is like❤️😊

Your content gives me so much inspo!! Love when you post😊

Since when you have a lisp
It's part of her new aesthetic 🥹😂
Does she have lip filler
it's always a treat to see you pop up in my feed. hope all has been well 💫
Girl you are so gorgeously fierce 🪷

I feel trapped and agitated by my hair sometimes (does that make sense?) but I hate to see me with it shorter than, at least, shoulder length. 😢
Buying some $10 hair shears (and ONLY using them on hair) was one of my best purchases. My haircuts have been free for years
Yay! Glad to have another vid lol I have hair envy every time I see your hair lol
I’ve been watching you since the start. I always check in every now and then to see if you posted. You have always been so cool to me 🥲
You're so radiant, love! 🥰
So good to see you again! ❤
My heart feels lighter to see her!
So happy to see a video from you❤
I’d love to see a detailed hair cut where we could see where each of your layers are
Is there any change to the audio? I'm either going deaf or just used to loud noises or just forgotten your voice?🥲😅
