- This rare television program was based on the famous Philips H. Lord radio program of the same title which aired from 1939 to 1952. This TV version was not as successful, lasting only a few shows in syndication. Mr. District Attorney was similar in script and content to Gang Busters and of course, that program was created for radio and then television by Philips H. Lord. Radio programs are available from myradioclassics.com. Four episodes of Mr. District Attorney are available from My Video Classics. myvideoclassics.com.
The program played when the LA City Hall was, basically, the Los Angeles “skyline”
Ah, the days of simplicity & good humour - thanks
thank you for putting these videos up...I appreciate it.
The picture is real good and the sound is too.
I heartily concur !

2:08--Joe Besser, just a few years before he replaced the departed Shemp Howard as the third of the "Three Stooges" at Columbia Pictures, alongside Larry and Moe.

A YEAR LATER 😆

Joe Besser! From Stinky to Stooge! Anybody who breaks big-time alongside Abbot & Costello, then joins the 3 Stooges is somebody worth watching - even if he only served as Third Stooge for 2 years! (And esp since he left the troupe to take care of his ailing wife.)
Excellent tv 📺📺📺Series
Mister District Attorney was a surprisingly successful multimedia franchise for years. This show didn't last very long, but between books, radio shows, comics and some magazine shorts the character was all over the place at one point. Have a very beat up copy of a 1950s comic in hand that I rescued from a Good Will bin. It's kind of adorably quaint.
Never saw this program before! Very good episode! Loved watching it!❤
I agree 100 per cent !
Dave Brian who played the DA had a co-starring role in an important and excellent 1950 film Intruder in the Dust based on William Faulkner's 1949 novel. See it for free on "ok.ru" complete 87 minute film,
The witness Cogan was played by Joe Besser who played the child-like Stinky in Abbott and Costello's 1952 TV show and later played one of The Three Stooges from 1957-59
Yes indeed ! I always liked David Brian. Nice to see him play a good guy for a change ! He played a lot of villians & nogoodniks on TV & in films during his long career.
He looks like Stodge Joe , 54 just before shemp `s passing . The driver was Myron Heally driving a stock 54 Ford . Hopped up ? Human life wasn`t as cheap in 54 . Today the police wouldn't waste their time on this case .
Joe Besser, played the maintenance man on the Joey Bishop show. Also with the three stooges for a shot while after Shemp.
Indubitably ! And he made a lot of appearances with Abbott & Costello on their 50s TV show.
Never heard of this show. Subscribed
Besser, my favorite Stooge! ZIV tv put out some great stuff! Not overly well written, or financed, but great! Thank you for the post. 💚
As I do when I take off may hat, you make a good point ! The Ziv TV folks knew how to produce entertaining shows on a small budget.
Dave Brian also played Joan Crawford's boyfriend in Flamengo Road and The Damned don't Cry.
Yes indeed ! You know your stuff ! And the late great David Brian also played Joan Crawford's lover in 1952's "This Woman is Dangerous".
Love these shows
I heartily concur ! I'm so glad youtube has so many of these wonderful "blasts from the past" for us to enjoy !
Good decent entertainment. What more do they want
Damned if I know I do love the classics.
You got that right ! These wonderful shows of the past are proof that a TV show didn't need to have profanity, vulgarity & sleazy sexual situations to be entertaining !
He ran out in front of the car on purpose, like the guy said,
I remember watching this Program, not this episode. Thanks
I was with Adam and Methuselah. Adam lived 930 years and Methuselah lived 969 years! I can recall back to 1952. A few things prior.
The D.A. never told Thompson who the othe witness was but around 13:56 the ringleader knew it was Kogan.
I'm watching this right in the midst of a air-tight Presidential election an I couldn't help but notice the name of the apartment building at the 2:00 mark-"WITMER" The things you notice...
Remember this when I was 2ndgrade,serious intro
Neat memory.
Jimmy Wallington, announcer.
It’s a shame Larry keating does not have a star on Hollywood blvd
20:56 Where the most famous GTA San Andres quote from CJ actually originated from, without the s word.
Mr. Kogan was aka one of the Three Stooges for a short stint.
Golf course to play 18? How about Rancho park?

Sounds like some of our citizens today who get government checks every month. "Job? Oh no, I don't want a job". Haha😁
