Tbh this exceeded my expectations. Pretty good start Samsung.
wonder how many youtubers will realise that bixby is actually quite good for a first start. its almost at the same level as google and siri. it seems to be very helpful. its gonna get smashed though in reviews. lol

When they versed? Have you actually used both on a regular basis? Bixby is not only slow but I give it a try or two a days and it NEVER does what I am trying to accomplish. I'm not exaggerating. Not once, in several weeks. Google assistant? Usually does exactly what I'm expecting. Big difference.
David hatesBixby i said its good for a first start. And you were probably watching mkbhd's video on it. Bixby is slow no point denying that but give it until the s9 and it will be a serious competitor. You are obviously not phrasing your sentances correctly or using sentances you would use for google assistant not bixby. They have had a several year head start on bixby so its worrying that its this far along already
barry neylon You said it. It's a first start. That much is clearly obvious. You said it again, it's not yet a serious competitor to Google assistant. I don't buy phones to help develop tech that isn't up to par. If Samsung offered the phone for free and paid me a small fee each month, I *STILL* would not want to help develop Bixby. I was buying what I thought was a top-of-the-line phone, not something that would need another generation to be a serious competitor.
The poor function of Bixby is only part of the problem. Execution is horrible. I understand why some people have literally removed the Bixby button. Pressing it is akin to stubbing my toe.
All of this "open Instagram/Twitter and post/tweet the post function is all cool but would be even cooler if Bixby could do that in the background while you're still using your phone doing something else. That alone would crush Google assistant and siri
Artificialo Stylexd good idea. They will make it possible. Also I think for now you can program a combo of orders with a simple word. For example make a post of last picture I took with word "twittit"

Bixby Voice is not yet available for the S8 and S8+ in the UK, despite the fact English is our natural language. Might be useful to clarify this point as it's a cause of some frustration for new S8 users in the UK.

When we unlock our phone using g our voice, we shouldn't need to have to say passcode unless it's someone else using your phone. Samsung should look into that for a future update. It's your voice. At least make it an option and then it would be cool.

I think the Galaxy S7edge and S7 will get Bixby with an Update, maybe with Android 7.1.1 or you just install the APK of Bixby

There's a few nifty things there but I'm afraid it just won't be able to outdo Google Assistant anytime soon. With all these Samsung apps and features competing directly with Google/Android, I wouldn't be surprised if they go their own way with Tizen (which they sort of tried before, which didn't go well)

Why would you want to press a button and say "open Twitter" when just tapping on the icon would be quicker? I don't get it.
It is not just opening up twitter. It is (1) open twitter, (2) post the (3) last picture I have taken
That is 3 steps command. Nobody will bother if it can operate one step command. And you need not press a button. You can just wake up bixby by saying "hi bixby".
Nice video, thanks. When you asked it to open "my CZcams channel" as it doesn't know your name it couldn't do it. If you ask it to open your channel by name it will.

According to me, Bixby is far better than Google Assistant. I don't have an iphone so I can't say that whether it is better than siri or not. Video is very nice mate. Keep it up and have a nice day ahead. :)

Within a few years (I'm thinking the 10 gen) Samsung will leave Android and go full force with tizen os...I mean like their Os is already on the watches with apps directly competing with Android, pay health music contact messaging now an ai only matter of time they say fuck Android
Akshay Verma yeah i can totally see samsung and others like huawei and sony (unlikely sony, their pretty loyal). google was very sneaky when they made the s7 slower with an update to make the pixel look good. the optimizations in android are horrible. most OEMs just use their own optimizations to save bettery life
I totally see it too. The only major issue I see with it is the fact that their App Store is absolute trash. However, in the same way Microsoft is doing with Windows 10S and the exclusion of all programs outside of the windows store, they'll have so much leverage with their large user base that devs will practically be forced to make their apps compatible with the platform, to not be missing out on a large number or possible users.
Although, people may just lean towards the pixel, especially if the 2 XL is as stunning as leaks show, due to it's similar design yet better known os. All in all, it would either make or break samsung... or at least it's mobile division.
Alex Koch app stores are over hyped. if they have all the essentials.it is a tricky situation because google will most likely not allow apps like youtube to be downloaded on samung's OS phones(you could just use the website) but other apps like facebook, messenger, instagram, whats app will all be on it. samsung have good relationships with facebook. It'll be interesting to see how it develops if they do break away

Erick Hudson i know the feeling i bought the iphone 4s when it first launched, after the whole siri hype train and it was absolute shit in Australia, couldnt do any of the things Apple said it could for atleast a year waste of money that was. got rid of the phone not long after.
