FIRST LOOK! New 2025 Mazda CX-70 Hybrid - Unveiling the Future of SUVs!!

An whole year ago, Mazda halted sales of the massive CX-9 crossover SUV, stating that the CX-90, with its completely new architecture designed for niche markets like North America, was the reason behind the decision. The new CX-60, which debuted the Large Product Group architecture with longitudinal engines and available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, will not be available in this region unlike some others throughout the world. An alternate option is the CX-90, a big crossover SUV with three rows of seating that debuted in the US first and will be sold in other countries as the CX-80. Just like the CX-70 will soon replace the CX-60 in the American market, the former is only available outside of North America. The new model is slightly larger. Considering it was delayed from late 2023 to 2024 in October 2023, here's hoping it finally comes out in 2024. The original plan was to have it join the CX-90 flagship CUV, the CX-50, the smaller CX-30, and the CX-5 in the lineup. Luckily, the date of the CX-70 unveiling by Mazda has been announced for January 30. To put it simply, the CX-70 is just the CX-90 with two rows instead of one. That is, if they don't postpone it again. In terms of details, the setup isn't too complicated: it will share a chassis with the CX-60 and CX-90 and will have longitudinal inline-six engines and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle options. As a result, the new CX-70 and CX-90 will be up against some stiff competition in the crossover utility vehicle (CUV) market, including several models with ICE powertrains and Toyota's Highlander and Grand Highlander crossovers, which are equipped with hybrid drivetrains as standard. Because the CX-70 has not yet made it to dealership lots, it is impossible to say how they will do in contrast to two of the most attractive automobiles in North America. On the other hand, most people are excited about the hybrid powertrain option. It's unclear if Mazda will make the CX-70 a performance midsize crossover SUV with a 2.5-liter electric engine that produces 323 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, or if it will detune it.
