But what’s important is the attack on the Capitol was NOT the main attempt to subvert the election; it was the attempt to put fake electors in place of the real, duly and legally designated electors in an attempt to overturn the election. That’s all well documented: the meetings to plan the strategy are documented, the video of the fake electors showing up and trying to be allowed into the building to vote exists, and the fake electors signed paperwork that demonstrated their intention to take the place of the real electors. And of course there are the documented calls Trump made asking state election officials to just throw out the results and declare the election a fraud and to find him votes.
