Deer Stalking Roe Bucks across open Rapeseed fields: mosquito hell

Today John was stalking and Sarah behind the camera.
Today we embarked on another early mornings deer stalking, after some Roe Bucks.
We immediately spotted one on the farm land we manage, backed the truck up and aimed to stalk onto it however after a longtime waiting for the Buck to raise its head out of the tall rapeseed field. We decided to head back to the vehicle, at which point he spotted us and ran off.
This chase continued throughout the rest of the morning, from one Buck, onto another pair Rutting (which seems early) 🤷‍♀️
We stalked across 3/4 fields but could not get the chance.
On the way back home we stopped at another farm for one last chance, at which point we found a Roe Buck and Doe sat down the dike sheltering. John sneaked into shooting position however after a Long time waiting for the safe shot, he struggled to get the clear and safe shot he wanted.
Nevertheless we tried hard and after many mosquitos bites, headed home for a cuppa and chat about the morning.
