Still my favorite player ever. He cared, he tried, and he took his talents to their utmost because of that. Lastly, he was as humble as they come. Total respect.

Just a GREAT, all-around back. Quickness, surprising power, and breakaway speed. One of THE very best ever to wear the Eagles uniform.

Thank u Laie for posting this truly great video Wilbert has been my ultimate hero for 35 years now and you did a heck of a job putting this together to show how great this man really was. Fans who never saw Wilbert can never realize how great a player he was especially because of injuries shortened his career down but even so he still was able to retire the 15th all-time leading rusher at the time of his retirement just 14 yards behind Hall of famer number #14 John Henry Johnson. Wilbert played for a team that didn't have much run blocking and still a little known stat is that Wilbert led the NFC 3 times in 5 years in average per carry 78,81 n 82 he did it with blinding speed mixed with great strength for his size and a toughness u just don't see anymore and such humility, what a pleasure to watch thank u again. And lets get this Super Man in the NFL Hall finally. Now that Floyd Little is in it Wilbert no doubt belongs not that he didn't before.

He was about as fast as Dorsett and about as tough as Payton. Which is a heck of a combination.

@@aidencass6840 You are lucky to have him as a coach cause Wilbert would be great at coaching any sport. As he did such a great job as a assistant with the Rams,Lions,Ravens, and Browns over the course of 19 years.

,,, I've never seen anyone go through the line as Wilbert did, with such speed, as a young man his first few years. He just accelerated into contact and broke on through !

@@Mark-sj3xb He had speed. He could truck it. Those runs he made against the Cowboys in the 1980 NFC Championship Game, were something.

I watched that game eagles vs cowboys man, that old vet. stadium turf looked hard. Maybe it took a few years from Wilbert?

I think it was the final game of the 1976 seaqson...Eagles vs. Giants. Wilbert ran back the opening kickoff and rushed for over 100 yards. Both of those things were rarities for the Eagles at that time. That's when I knew he was a special player.
