- Today, I'm in Borough at the Gladstone Arms and I'm going to try their Anglo-Indian style Sunday roast. I've never actually had an Indian style roast dinner before so I'm very excited to give it a go!
Please don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel.
Do you have any recommendations for Sunday roasts?
I don't know why, but I'm so happy when you give a 10/10. Love the idea that you just completely enjoyed the meal.
Haha thanks mate. It was superb!
Yet another great honest vlog Gary.
Now if i had been walking by and seen 'Indian Sunday Roast' advertised i would of walked by as i like some other commenters believe the two are best kept separate.
But after watching this and hearing your comments its defiantly something i would try now.
As for the score of ten i will go with you on that as you genuinely seem to enjoy it, especially those Indian roast potatoes.
Chris
Hello Chris. Hope you've been well on this fine Sunday.
You really should give it a try. It's something a bit different and at first, I was skeptical but after trying.. it was really quite good! I probably would give it a 9 looking back because of the Yorkshire pudding but all in all, a delightful meal!
Came across your channel a few weeks ago and have watched all your reviews to date. Very professional and honest reviews. Keep up the good work, Gary and camera, man!
Much appreciated! Thank you Shane, I will pass on your kind words to the cameraman as well!
Intriguing combination - i need to get down there! Great review Gary, well done.
Thanks so much 👍 It's something a bit different.
I would definitely gone for the indian lamb chop roast .
I was very interested in this as well. Maybe I'll go back in the future!
Please do Gary, I'd like to see that.
Liked the look of that, very different. I might have a hard time trying to convince my wife to give it a go for our next sunday roast though. Thanks for the review again.
You can convince her definitely! You're more than welcome Simon.
Well you’ve done it again Gary, another great vlog ! Looked a really generous portion and I think the bought in Yorkie slightly let it down as everything else was homemade, but I guess as you enjoyed it so much you could see past that. I just really love the variety on your channel, unlike some foodie channels that are a bit samey. Thank you, looking forward to what’s to come
Thanks and extremely kind of you Karen. 👍 I try to keep it a bit different but understand that also people like to see some more "normal" videos from time to time so I try to do what I can. Appreciate your feedback and felt your review of the yorkshire was spot on as well. Thanks again.
That looked awesome. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for watching!
Looked tasty - The clean plate says it all
So good. Thanks for watching!
It looked wonderful value Gary. You had a whole meal for the same price you paid for just one of those dishes at Chinatown. And you were really honest about the Yorkshire. Another great review.
Thank you Stephanie. I do try and keep it honest which is why I added the tab to mark it down to a 9. Appreciate your kind comments :)
Well, ok on the not house-made element, but they did offer additional potatoes and vegetables, too. So I'd say that balances out, at least.
Looks absolutely wonderful!
It was! Highly recommend.
Great format, keep doing what you're doing . The Macmaster is gunning for you 👍
Far better than The Macmaster he's ran away to Spain. 😂😂😂😂
Thank you very much. I appreciate that!
@@douglasgrahamdronefilmingp2068 he does too much talking gary is natural
😁😁😁@@Hometruths29
You just had a Chicken Curry With a Yorkshire Pudding
Hardly a Sunday Roast Gazza
😅😅😂
Haha it was still really good and can highly recommend. I was skeptical at first like you... thanks for watching :)
Curry actually means gravy, so closer to a roast than you think.
🤣🤣🤣
Yep not the best fusion version I’ve seen. Adding a frozen Yorkshire pudding doesn’t really cut it.
Great video Gary, just subscribed keep up the great content
Thank you so much. Glad you like it!
Interesting one Gary. Enjoyed that immensely. Cheers and thanks!
Many thanks Stephen
Another great video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again!
Must say I am really enjoying your regular videos, full of good nature, positive vibes, helps me through my boring weekday lunch time. The videos lighten up the day.
Really appreciate that. Wish you all the best.
Oh wow that looks fab, my type of food… another great review and video Gary..
More than welcome!!
Well that was an unusual Sunday roast but it must have been delicious - looked very nice! Kindest regards from Tasmania.
Thanks for watching! Something a little bit different, isn't it?!
hi gary , another great video.i love indian food , and i would love to try a indian roast dinner.that looked delicious. keep up the good work mate.
Thanks so much and appreciate your comments!
Morning Gary your Indian roast dinner looked very nice and different. Glad you really enjoyed your meal.
Thanks Susan!
You're very kind for giving the roast dinner a 10.
I changed and gave it a 9 due to the Yorkshire pudding if you see on the screen! I will agree 10 was too much.
Excellent as always can't wait for the next one keep up the good work 😊
Thank you! 😄
What a great review really enjoyed Thanks for all your hard work regards Greg keep the reviews coming
Thanks Greg, not all heroes wear capes eh lol 👍
Good idea having a curry house part of a pub.
I've been to a pub and they did excellent Chinese.
It's a really good concept. One I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
a dab hand on the old joanna a not suprised it got a ten the moment it was served up you could see it was quality i love garlic as a background flavour but can not have it full on you are visiting some very nice places keep up the great work thanks steve
Thank you as always Steve. Hope you were able to have a Sunday roast today. Cheers mate.
Another great video Sir! That looked really nice. Must admit, with everything else appearing to be "home cooked", it is a pity they could not have done the same with the Yorkshire pud, perhaps adding their own little spicy twist. Mark.
You got that right Mark. I think the Yorkshire was a bit of a let down all things considered but it was a great fusion!
Looked really good I’ve never had anything like that great video x
Thank you for your lovely comment
great review Gary looked superb !!
Thank you kindly Lee!
And well worth watching! It will be on the bucket list next time we are in the UK!
Brilliant to hear. Owners are lovely as well!
Love it,I love a Sunday currry Buffett and this is a nice twist n that
Please stay tuned for my video this week... ultra cheap Indian buffet in London. See you then!
What a perfect combo that was ! I love my Indian and of course, my Sunday roast dinner so to combine the two with such great effect is wonderful ! I wish I could try that as you so enjoyed it and 10/10 was the right score. A hidden gem?
Hi Robert. I actually think the right score was to mark the Yorkshire down as I think it was frozen but the meal was terrific and the combination of the two was fantastic. Hope you're well in Australia. Thanks again.
This place bring back very good memories, I used to come in here before it was an Indian restaurant!
It was the local pub Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman used to hang out at the beginning of their career. Did you know that??
The pub was inactive and boarded up for a period (between November 2016 and April 2017) after the building's owner demanded a rent hike of £30k, causing the previous management to close the business. As you might know + the now managers Megha Khanna, Abhinav Saxena and Gaurav Khanna took over the lease in April 2017!
I last came in here 18 months ago, been too long so will def come back this year-another cracking review my friend 👍🏻
Looks amazing Gary, could just polish that off right now!!
Was excellent my friend. Loved the combo idea.
Great review Gary..that looked delightful..it's good to see pubs trying something different..the Gladstone deserves to be a success for thinking outside the box.. keep up the great reviews.. thanks Gary kind regards Dave 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Dave. It’s a a great little idea just needs a better Yorkshire pudding!
Looked fantastic, thanks for the review. I will try something like that and see what the family thinks😊
I5 was different Fiona and tasted really good
Must admit been trying to get my family to do Xmas dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Try and convince them John. Usually I go for a Chinese around Xmas time but I do love a curry!
A nice ruby lovely
I always go against tradition at Christmas, do love a Chinese or Indian, looked a lovely place to eat
Hi Gary,
Ive been watching quite a few of the vlogs recently, it came up on the feed... you've been doing an excellent job thats certain, really enjoyable & no drama just easy to watch... for this one as my 1st comment on the channel, i thought it was a little expensive, but not out of reach expensive, also i understand the comment on the Yorkshire pudding, so because of cost etc... score of 8... which is fair, & it did look great mate 👍
Wow, thank you and welcome Tel (hopefully it's okay to call you that). Really appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the video. It's nice to do something different once in a while. Thank you again.
@@GaryEats Of course, I enjoyed the expensive Vs not so expensive vlog aswell, both I thought were fantastic, it really depends on the budget doesn't it, & whether it's a nice meal out or a work day breakfast... how you managed to eat both amazing, great vlog Gary! 😊
Nice review Gary it's so good to try new things at least once
Of course. You don't know until you try... I'm glad with this one!
That's a new one for me, Gary! Never had an Anglo Indian Sunday roast before, need to try. Great review as usual, mate and keep up the fantastic work.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend. Something a bit different away from the usual videos!
Vegan pie.. yum! What you did get does look good too. I'd definitely love the look of the veggies, especially the potatoes (minus the goose fat). What great value for quality food!
This was completely different and a great surprise Siobhan 🇦🇺🇦🇺
That looked really nice and tasty definitely worth the score you gave it
I think so too! Thank you very much Julie :)
Very different!!! 👌🙌👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
you can’t replace the original sunday roast
It's something a bit different but I understand your point. Thanks for watching :)
Duh, that's not the point of this.
Looks amazing ❣
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow that looked amazing I hope this takes off and becomes more widely available across the UK. I think I may just have to make the trip out to try it for myself at the Gladstone arms
You'll love it mate!
@@GaryEats I'm sure I will it looked absolutely delicious
would never know about this place if it was not for the channel. On my list to try in the next few weeks.
Great stuff, really hope you enjoy their food!
That looked great, my mouth was watering.
Great stuff.
Ooh! Yum!!!! Hi from Singapore!
Hi!!
That really looks interesting Gary. Something different and worth a try.
Thank you. Of course, something a bit unusual so why not try!?
Good man! You know it makes sense as Del Boy would say. I get you on the Yorkshire though!!😂😂
LOL.
I wonder if a small yorkshire with an equally small nan bread might have been a better option. That said, sounds a great dinner. Thanks for taking us along.
That's a great idea! Thanks for watching!
Oh wow ... how fantastic ... nice change from the norm 😊
Thanks! 😊
Looks good Gary ..
I will check it out next time I'm in London ..
And give it a go to cook one Sunday ..
Give it a try mate. Worth while.
Let's give it a go. Luv this English expression 😆
Thanks!
I would definitely like to try this...
Please give it a go!
Looked proper lovelyjubbly, brilliant review as always, keep up the great work and keep safe and well always.
Thanks, you too!
That looks lovely 🎉
It was!
certainly different,glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you Matthew. Something different, eh?!
definately different !,and nice😀
Gary they had me at Railway lamb chops. Another place to add to my list of places to visit
I should have got them instead of the chicken. They were speaking to me as well. Have a good time!
Looked ideal Sunday hangover food, I'd try that any Sunday 👍👍👍👍
So good and completely agree with you!
I love Indian food and that looked delicious, Gary👍
Was so good! Thanks Sheila :)
Gary, that looks fantastic. It’s 5:30am and I could eat that now!!
It was really good. Something a bit different as well isn't it? Thanks for watching!
I’ll bring my own homemade Yorkshire and then it will be perfect! 😁
Looked so good that! 👌
Great plan John. Was lovely!
Another good vid thanks Gary il check this place out mate 👍
Please do Mark. Mention the video! Staff are lovely and are extremely accommodating.
Top class not been there in years will do what you do and give it a go.
Great stuff, deffo give it a try!
Looked nice and I will have to try it out. Yorkshire pudding a shocking effort though
The only let down. The rest... wow. Excellent!
Lovely plate of food like the play with the vegetables and potatoes great idea I think I might of put the chicken in the Yorkshire pudding a 10 from me
It was totally different and well executed
Love the ivy on the outside 👍
It's a really nice cosy pub.
An episode of your show that I haven't seen!!
Wow. Thank you Ian for watching them all!
great video thanks
I know this pub it's menu is a little bit unusual but a welcome change from the normal pub grub.
Yep! I like a bit of originality!
Looked great 😊
It was!
Hi Gary great review 👍
Hi Craig. Thanks as always for your kind comments. Hope you're well! 👍
I would love that... a combination of my 2 most favourite meals. I think you were right giving it a 10... who cares about a packet Yorkshire when they have worked do hard yo get the flavours right. I think asking them to do homemade Yorkshire is a bit unfair. Very few can do fusion food properly. The portion size was lovely too. Extremely good value for such a different dish.
Fair comment Melanie. It was spectacular!
Yeah cause homemade Yorkshire puddings are so hard to make 🙄
😂🤣. Nothing to add or subtract, the smile on your face tells it all.
👍👌💪💯.
Gladstone ☑️🌹❤️
Thank you Martin 😁
@@GaryEats 👍👌🙏
Love the yorkie on the side 😂❤❤❤
It looks quite awkward in comparison to the rest of the meal!
Fusion dishes can go wrong, very wrong, but that one looked fantastic! Great job, I would have deducted 0.5 for the yorkshire to encourage them to upgrade.
Really spot on comment. I agree with this.
quality. you know it's going to be a proper curry when the meats cooked on the bone. dont know about the fusion with a roast but after seeing it I would give it a go. thanks Gary
No problem Robert!
Recently I've been watching your videos I really enjoying 👍
Greetings from Wembley 🙏
Really appreciate that and glad you're enjoying them!
I'm not usually a fan of "fusion", but that looks fantastic. Dishoom do something similar and it's also very good. Thanks Gary!
More than welcome!
That looked absolutely delicious, 2 of my favourite meals combined, Indian food and a good old Sunday roast. It's a shame that I can't get either of them here in Poland where I live. For a decent Indian restaurant I have a round trip of nearly 300km.
Hello to Poland. Another country I would love to visit (have an interest in history). Need to get on a flight over here soon, Rob. Your taste buds will thank you for having a curry! Cheers mate.
@user-ke8be8mf9tyeah why not? It's cow meat Hindus don't eat but beef comes from bull as well and I eat beef
As an Indian , Sunday Roast is Sunday Roast and not Sunday Roast curried that's sacrilege Gary 😂
I thought religious Hindus avoided any kind of beef? Splitting hairs on the sex of the animal seems a bit strange.
@@rosemarymee I believe its to do with the fact the cow gives milk (amongst other products) to us (humans) apart from your mother no other animal (maybe goats??) nourishes you, I would suggest before commenting please check why certain people have culture differences than yours ...Google things, it definitely helps with information, I believe beef was eaten by Indian sadhus (holy men) in some instances from my knowledge and understanding as Indian Hindu, hope that helps you avoiding "splitting hairs"
Watching from Ecuador & we have a local British cook, I’ve just shared this with her. Could be a winner winner chicken dinner for Ecuador Sundays.
Oooo. Thanks Lisa!
Excellent stuff id be down with that.
Glad you liked the fusion!
Looked lovely chap, I enjoy a curry too 👌👌 10/10 👍
A nice mix of cuisines. Glad you enjoyed.
You're right indeed Gary, curry and sunday roast does sound like a martiage made in heaven
Superb!!
Great review, another place local to me to try. Thx Gary. PS Have you been to Blue Junction in Morden? Indian restaurant, I like it.
I have not but I have heard of it. I was actually going to review it instead of the buffet but settled on the buffet!
Looked nice that did Gary, I would definitely give it a go.
Nice little ditty on the Piano aswell Pal!
👊💥🍛🎹 ❤️👍
Good stuff. Thank you... I don't know any other tunes!
Gary liked the piano playing enjoy your Indian roast
Thank you very much, Ian. This one was very different but very tasty.
Very unusual Anglo/India. But it looked excellent, good size portion, good variety and presentation. Price ok. Does not really matter if the yorkshire was not made on site. 10/10 from me.
The portion was actually bigger than it looked as there were some potatoes hiding underneath the sauce! Thanks for watching!
Gary plays...the entertainer on piano.
Bonus well done x
Thank you very much, Julie. That’s about all I can play. lol 😂 x
love your content. hopefully channel grows and u check out an ulster fry in Norn Ireland
Really appreciate that Paul, I will come to NI soon.
Shame about the Yorkie not being homemade! So easy to make. Chicken makhani looked lovely. Hubby Joe likes my Punjab version. Going to make the potatoes on my next roast!
Sounds great!
Great post 👍
Thanks, glad you liked it! 👍
Would be interested in their lamb dish
I really wanted that one as well!
Oh yeah that looked moreish thumbs up
Good stuff, It's something a bit different isn't it? Thanks for watching.
