The most important thing to know about Prescott is where Whiskey Row is.
And if you need a guide...or a drinking companion...just sayin' 😎
@@azkiltedrealtor I will keep you in mind if they ever let me back in Prescott.

Excellent video! Great information!
Thanks so much! I've got more in production - in fact am off to shoot some B-roll footage this afternoon. Happy 2024! Ered
My granddaughter is graduating from Prescott High in a couple weeks. Can't wait to come visit out there again.
It is graduation season! Embry-Riddle parties going on tonight, plus a downtown festival. If I hadn't been showing houses all day I'd be there. Hope you have a good time while you are here!!!🙃
@@azkiltedrealtor Thanks. We always do! I think my granddaughter has her prom tonight.
@@cackleberrycottage2340 I had an early dinner with clients at Texas Roadhouse and I saw lots of prom-goers (dresses, tuxes and carnations!) coming in as we were leaving.
@@azkiltedrealtor Oh how fun! I am not sure where my granddaughter's prom is. We just got pics of them on a bridge somewhere. LOL!!
@@cackleberrycottage2340 there's an old, iron, railroad bridge behind the Hilton Garden Inn. Very popular for photos!
This was excellent.... Thank you so much!
Many thanks for the kind compliment!
We visited friends in the valley twice. And you're not lying about good food.
We went there the last time for Hopefest. And the sense of community was amazing. Had such a great time.
Hope Fest is a great event - and for a great cause. I volunteered at the event a couple of years back - fantastic people. Glad you enjoyed it!!
@azkiltedrealtor Loved it. We got to spend more time on Whiskey row. First time we went we ate at Lazy G's which was amazing. Then the last time we aren't to Colt grill. Again super amazing.
@@Rev_rider775 ha! Just got back from shooting some B-roll footage and stopped at Lazy G for a bacon-blue burger on my way home!
@@azkiltedrealtor try the bacon meatloaf burger. It OMG good.
@@Rev_rider775 will do!
As with everywhere else, nowadays, Some people are quite passionate about their politics. Most of us agree to disagree, but there are some who, shall we say, are beyond capable of changing their opinion and tolerating those of others.
One of my neighbors and close friends happens to be on the opposite end of the political spectrum. We hike, bowl, dine together (and share a few cocktails on occasion), and choose to focus our energy and conversations on the positive. In Prescott, you'll see peaceful protests on the square, pickups flying flags, and the odd distasteful bumper sticker...all-in-all it lives up to its reputation as "Everybody's Hometown."
Hard to tolerate conservative ignorance
@@doublevisionary5926 Let's see who's ignorant right now:
Which Trump POLICIES do you oppose, and WHY?
@@doublevisionary5926 Same goes for leftist lunacy.
@@joevarga5982 Don't get me started Joe, you are showing your ignorance, truly. Trump has no policies, he just is full of hate and anger. Biden has done more for this country than most Presidents.
Was really difficult to hear what you were saying what with that over bearing background "music", f.y.i.
Noted. Thx.
In light of the Colorado River drought from a year or two ago, how secure is the ongoing potable water supply?
Though it doesn't address Prescott's water specifically, the following article, published 12/21/23, offers some hope for the lower basin. www.azwater.gov/news/articles/2023-12-21-0 . Locally, there is still confidence in the Big Chino Aquifer, but no doubt there will be long-term challenges, especially if development continues at the current rate. Good news is water conservation has actually improved in the area. I realize this isn't a direct answer to your query, but the complexities of the issue are well beyond my ken... Cheers!

What about water..is there a shortage?
This article doesn't focus specifically on the Prescott area, but offers a good overview of the current situation: www.azwater.gov/news/articles/2023-12-18
we live up around 6000 feet . looking out over the valley three four times a week we see people having their wells drilled deeper because the water level is dropping seems like daily. Ours is down 650 feet and we were lucky. the way they keep putting in houses water is certainly a valued commodity. there are whole sections of new tract housing that they can not get water, so if they want to build they will have to put in tanks and truck it in. We have a 1000 gallon tank in the pump room next to the garage, that the well fills, and a three thousand gallon tank underground out back in case of emergency or fire, tank lid has a connection compatible with the local fire dept. We have no fire hydrants up here
Is there many sightings of scorpions and snakes in Prescott
Personally, in 20 years, I have never seen a scorpion in Prescott. I have seen garter snakes, gopher snakes/bull snakes and Arizona king snakes - maybe 5 or 6 times a year, total (all good and harmless). I have seen only 1 Arizona black rattlesnake in 20 years, but I know rattlers are occasionally spotted along hiking trails generally away from populated areas.
@@azkiltedrealtor we have killed 15 scorpions in our yard this week also 7 in the garage and last night one of the dogs was chasing one across the kitchen floor. We keep uv flash lights by the door in every room to see scorpions, they glow a bright lime green when hit with uv light. rattle snakes are everywhere up here in the mountains where we live and gopher and king snakes are even more plentiful. We keep snake catching equipment in our cars A4 foot snake hook and a red safety 5 gallon bucket The rattle snakes we release even further up the mntn and the gophers and Kings let them go in our pasture, they eat the pack rats and vermin. Don't forget about the Tarantulas it is mating season now, saw like 15 walking across our side patio last night . so far none of them have made it in the house, though they are pretty docile and we remove them with a Chinese soup container and put them out away from the house. As long as we are on the subject of wild life we also have two packs of Coyotes that roam the area, and just after the sun sets they all start to howl goes on for about 5 minutes then it is hunting time. Welcome to Arizona Y'all come back now hear.

Now that's interesting information!
the first thing you need to know, unless you like hiking or bike riding, there is NOTHING to do here. once you get off the whisky row thing prescott is just like any other AZ town, vast and boring. Everything is 40 minutes from you. 2 hours to Phoenix or Flagstaff, neither are worth the drive to get there. Sales tax in Prescott is outrageous. Unlike most states AZ charges tax on food, clothes, shoes and drugs. Many towns charge a reservation tax for the indians. Registration for a new car will be around 8-9 hundred dollars a year and it stays high like that for years. There are no good places to eat. and most of the small places close at 2 pm,then you are left with a couple of expensive tourist traps most of which we couldn't go to more than once. The mall is dead so don't bother there. And you will be so tired of the color brown. Everything is brown, the houses, the grass, the trees and mostly your new outlook on life. Expect to buy a big TV because you will be watching a lot. Did you ever see the episode of the Andy Griffith show where Howard moves to his idea of paradise on some little island? He ends up as a crazed wild eyed beach bum trying to sell shells in the town store with all the other crazed wild eyed beach bums. We came from the rolling mountains along the Delaware River in PA Every day I search Zillow for a house back there to move out of here. Prescott is ok for like 3-4 days but you don't want to live here
So…I’m just a little confused. Why do people that live or who are associated w Prescott…keep pronouncing this desirable place to live in as “Press-ckitt”?!! Many say it this way. It’s spelled Prescott. I have friends named Scott. I surely don’t call them S-ckitt. Just wondering’…
The unique pronunciation seems to have evolved over time, is part of the city's cultural heritage, and has been embraced by the locals. The oft-repeated tale that the Prescott family deliberately changed the pronunciation of the name to distinguish themselves from their overseas relations I find to be a bit far-fetched. Another online commentary points out that Prescott is not the only town/city with an accepted pronunciation that does not adhere to the basic rules - think "Louisville" and "Norfolk." In local speech, the sound is closer to "kuht" than "kitt" - similar to what you might hear in "carrot" or "parrot."
How do you say "Rodeo Drive" in Beverly Hills?
Ro dayo
Hey, for all the men who are name Scott , and live in Prescott, do they change the pronunciation to sket
😂
Only if they have a town named after them...😂
Please don’t move here. It’s good to visit, but don’t stay. Signed a native Prescottonian.

Arizona ia a desert with major water issues. Please don’t move here.
We really dont need more people moving here
It’s inevitable. Get used to it.
My wife and i want to move there, Do you think there is room for two more people, and two labrador's. 1 is 12 weeks old and the other is 11years old. We don't cause any trouble
as we don't get around people no more than we have too. We love Dogs more than people. (No offense)*. 99.9% of the time you can find us at home. In fact you would never know we were there. We went to Arizona last year and fell in love with it. Cut our vacation short to get back to our fur babies. So.. If we could have your blessing and OK on this
i would like to go forward on the moving process. I'm hoping 2 more folks from Tennessee wouldn't make a big difference. Thanks.
Just for that, I'm gonna send all my friends from the ghetto to Prescott, Arizona.
I'm moving in. Open your door
We will make room for you, your wife...and the labs! Prescott is definitely a dog-friendly town, so you'll fit right in. Dog-walking on Courthouse Plaza is a local pastime. One of my neighbors often compares Prescott to Gatlinburg - especially at night - since it's tucked into a valley between mountain ranges. You can choose your lifestyle here. There is plenty to do if you want to (hiking, kayaking, etc.) or you can just stay at home and enjoy the peace and quiet!
"Preskitt" is a pretty place. However, people who are from large cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, etc. will tell you that it has a lower class of people who happen to have made money in their blue collar jobs moved there. We call them locals yokels - not people with class. If you are used to the class and culture of our Southeast Valley, you will visit "Preskitt" and then run back home. Ya Hey Der.
Having arrived via Dallas & Honolulu I have to dispute that blanket assessment. I know at least 3 or 4 classy people...Lol 🤣
