we can probably expect more and more influencers to be at the met gala. times are changing! addison and dixie were normal people just like us and now look! they both attended the most exclusive event! in this video i'm going to rate their outfits along with the other influencers/youtubers that were there.

The difference between celebs and influencers is the dress, the class, and style/appearance overall
And their work put in. Tiktokers, youtubers, etc have way different jobs than professional actors, actresses, singers, and so on.

I'd like to point out that the mirrors on the side of Nikkies headpiece are part of traditional Dutch garments called Iron Ears (Oorijzers). So she didn't only pay homage to Marsha, but also to her own roots!

@@beatrixkiddo7569 The theme was "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion". Nikkie choose Marsha P. Johnson as her inspiration since she was at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots. A historic moment for queer Americans. She wanted to pay homage to an American icon by using the quote in her dress and the flowerpiece that Marsha wore.
Plus Nikkie wanted to give a nod to her own Dutch roots by incorperating the Oorijzers. New York was once called New Amsterdam and you still see the influence in this big American city. Broadway comes from Brede weg, Wallstreet from Wal straat, dollar from daalder, cookies from koekjes, Yankees from the Dutch names Jan & Kees and so on! :)

All in all the whole MET was very underwhelming. Only Iman, Kendall and Billie truly blew me away. And Normani...if her dress had a different color. Anyways, 2k18 MET stays the best. Back then, it was actually prestigious and special.

Billie and Kendall were very boring in my opinion. Most outfits were things we’ve seen before, unoriginal. Frank Ocean took the cake with that baby tho.

Nikkietutorials dress is in tribute to Marsha Johnson, who was a trans women. I’m pretty sure she was alive in the mid 1900s and spoke for lgbtq/trans rights. (She was American so it fits the theme) nikkie herself is trans so it’s a beautiful message.
Kendall Jenner’s dress is boring as fuck. Mainly because every single year every Kardashian wears that diamond naked dress thing and it’s definitely not ugly and she looks gorgeous obviously but it’s overdone and she kinda looks outdated wearing it. Also I don’t even know if it fits the theme

And i guess it fits the theme, but i think should could've added some stuff to her outfit (since it was all black). I want jewels, i want glasses that look like their from the future. Eugene was invited less than a week before the met gala. he was supposed to wear something else (a dress) but the designer didn't come through be they were also caught up with lots of other artists. What he's wearing is actually a backup for someone else, he still rocked it even though he had several problems throughout the preparation days
To be fair if you watch Eugene’s vogue interview, he says the dress he was supposed to wear ripped or something so he put that on as a last resort 🤷🏻♀️

unpopular opinion, i hated billies outfit. I love Billie as a singer and usually i’d be biased but it seriously was not giving. I didn’t like her hair I think she should’ve kept it at its usual length and wavy like how she usually has it. The eye makeup was way too dramatic for that dress, and the dress totally washes her out. Kendal literally killed her outfit.

Structurally, heels for men's feet have to be built a certain way to hold their body types and distribute their weight correctly, so they look chunkier and less sleek than we expect women's shoes and boots to look. They weren't amazing women's heels, but they were the right color for the look and Eugene looked like he felt incredible in them so🤷🏻♀️I think they're a win still

@@Taylorc0de that's ysl for you. It's always dresses black/white color with simple/plain designs. Look up ysl met gala outfits and it never flashy colourful colour. They never followed the theme entirely. But they sure know how to bring elegance to those models that wore their designs.

I totally agree. Blackpink or Rose pulled out stunning outfits in their MVs, but couldn’t find a designer to make her look outstanding for the first time at the Met Gala. I would imagine she wore a traditional hanbok with traditional hairstyle to show out Korean culture or a long dress to fit her body. Hope that Rose and Blackpink will upgrade their looks next time.

But her look was one of my favs at the Met gala for her makeup, scrunchy pony tail, and blinged out jewelry. Simple but she pulled it off although I do wish she got something like a black gown
