    Nice one. I am so glad you didn’t mess with it. Shame about all the petrol sludge.

    Why would anyone do this to a beautiful bike like this? Bought it in 1987, used it for under 5,000 miles. And just store it somewhere for 25 years? Motorcycle to me are the the symbol of freedom. I really want to get myself one of these. Either a BMW R45 or R65. Restore it, customize it and bring it back to its glory days.

    I own one of these and I've looked after it. To say it is ugly and 'early' is millenial ignorance imo. It's one of the best designed motorcycles ever made. Maybe not fast. But out-lasts and classes most of ths stuff made these days.

    Could of easily removed gasoline varnish and failed tank liner and re lined the factory liner. A little acetone does wonders.

    • @ParryBrothers
      @ParryBrothers  Před 2 lety

      The tank was beyond repair the sides of the tank had caved in and there was no metal to work with.

    These are fine MC, if you know what you have, resist the youth impulse to cut....
    All the Cool mods are actually just egotistical impulses, not worth it. Keep Stalk.

    Love the videos but please keep the volume of the music down so I don’t have to keep my remote in hand. When you’re talking I have the volume way up to hear you then when the music comes on I shake the glass on my windows...

    has no one told you yet that bike is a R80 not an R65?

    • @Honkawsuzyamal
      @Honkawsuzyamal Před 2 lety

      I suspect it is and it isn't. After discontinuing the small R65 in the mid 80's BMW reintroduced it using a small bore R80 for a short time. The small R45/R65 never sold well and I doubt if it would be possible to get a petrol tank for it

    • @gntdriver2840
      @gntdriver2840 Před 2 lety

      @@Honkawsuzyamal thanks
      a while after i posted my previous comment i remembered that BMW had indeed restyled the R65
      and made it look just like the R80.
      The bike in the video will probably be much rarer than the original R65 because i think it
      was only in production for maybe 2-3 years compared to about 6-7 years for the original R45/R65
