- I didn’t hate Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Don’t confuse it, I certainly didn’t love it, but it wasn’t the stinker I thought it was going to be. And the reason so many of us thought it would be bad is because of the monumental disadvantage it started with, that being most of us are going in with opinions already biased against it. It wasn’t by any means the poor Tiana Splash Mountain overlay I thought it would be.

How they handled this whole thing will always rub me the wrong way. At the very least I wish the Br’er characters could have stuck around in some way even if their ride was gone.
But they did! They're in the queue line, you just have to make sure you don't miss it, squint your eyes and you can see what looks to be a fox, bear, and rabbit. (In all seriousness, it's such a bad remembrance to the og ride)
Would have been cool if they kept splash mountain but add in princess and the frog characters, kinda similar like how it’s a small world has disney characters scattered through the ride. How awesome would it be brer rabbit and tiana singing zip a dee doo dah
Disney doesn’t seem interested in over-delivering these days. Go, Universal!
I would like to know how much money they put into renovating the actual ride itself. It is an old ride, no surprise that its having technical issues.
Riding this ride reminds me of reading the most boring children’s books that have lame plots. The best part is the splash

How is Tiana a good replacement for splash? First of all, there are no mountains in Louisiana. They should have stopped the idea there.

Disneys most controversial rethemes for sure! Is it better than SM? Not even close imo. Sure it's still a fun flume ride. But imo I think of it now as a mid flume ride, like any other flume ride. Now I think Dudleys is the best in Orlando!

I mean, it's what happens when you care more about being 'historically accurate' with a fictional Disney Princess than checking if the engineering works and not rushing a ride for opening.

@@Mochichu-w6b What? The ride breaks down constantly. I rode splash from 2001-2023 and I never once got evacuated. Spent a whole week there when I was 10 and rode splash 5 times in a row when it was a Wednesday with a 5 min wait I remember.

I disagree and think every aspect of Tiana’s is terrible, but this video is very well thought out and awesome!

So basically, they made a few creative choices that played it safe rather than maximizing what it could have been. Maybe one day we'll get "Are you Ready?" as we go up the main lift. Maybe one day...
I had an ounce of hope that Disney could possibly make an addition like that to the attraction, but then I remembered that they aren’t Universal.
@@CobbleBompster universal wouldn’t replace something that’s worse. They would have enhanced splash and added water effects for the summer much like the olc does in Tokyo.

I only rode splash mountain one time so I’m very devastated like I forgot why it was turned into princess and the frog but I think the reason was the stupidest thing that Disney ever done.
How can you give the animatronics 10/10? There are some good animatronics, but then there's many that just move back and forth like windpowered lawn ornaments. Splash is 35 years old, and while they aren't using the advanced electromechanical models, they didn't cheap out like that and kept the quality consistent throughout.

@TheDylanJoyce Yeah, it's like they spent all the money on the Tianas and alligators and had to retrofit Spirit Halloween figures to avoid going over budget. I actually had someone defend those awful "animatronics" saying how advanced they actually are.

Exactly. If this dude wants to see genuinely outstanding animatronics, he needs to watch the Zootopia ride. Those animatronics were the best I have seen outside of the Navi shaman.

It would’ve been a lot better if the Country Bear Jamboree Theater replaces Tiana’s ride since they been replaced with winnie the pooh long enough since 2001
I legitimately hate the "go woke go broke" mindset, but this is legitimately the very few times where I agree. This was kinda a terrible decision to brush things under the rug just because of surface level connotations. It's an adhesive band-aid on a laceration.
Each time you say Splash Mountain all I hear is Splash Melon.
The ending scene is awful.

12:34 What screen are we talking about? There are screens of extras dancing behind Tiana and Louis in that scene (which I find forgiveable), but Mama Odie is seen in animatronic form.
Also a few extra complaints of my own:
-There's one Louis figure everyone seems to be missing out on. After the first time we see Tiana on the second lift, Louis is seen completely still, searching for musicians underneath a box right behind a field of okra, which leaves happen to be of the same color shade of Louis' skin! That's one heck of a rookie mistake! And an easily fixable one too! What the hell Disney?!
-Probably a personal remark, but I find Mama Odie's presence in the ride to be incredibly reduntant. Floating past her a couple times I'd be okay with, but four?! Is she really that huge of a fan favorite? Even more than Lottie? I might be wrong and I apologize if I am, but I don't think she is. I would have happily traded her with one more Lottie or Naveen. ...OR FACILIER!
-Why are the fireflies the only 2D animated characters while everyone else is in their 3D form?
-One last complaint - probably the dumbest one. Now that Tiana's back to her human self, how on Earth is Louis communicating with her? 😆 I do not recall Louis proving he can speak human at any point in the movie.
After recently going to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney SEA I was mind-blown at the animatronics and animation technology they have on SO many of their rides. While Tiana's Bayou was okay for most of it, I was relieved to see the last party scene on the ride using SOME of this technology Disney has access to. The animatronics were still lacking, but the newest projection animation technology I saw in Japan was at least used towards the end. Nothing in Disneyland or any DisneyWorld park actually uses this yet. It seems this is USA Disney's first use of it.
Their animatronics are ok, aside from Tiana, Ralphie, Louis, charlotte, and Odie which are admittedly good animatronics, the rest which are the critters are static figures that bop back and forth and just move one arm, they cant even blink or move their mouths and seem so soulless.
The only critters that were static in splash were the weasels, possums, turtles, and the hanging brer bear, aside from them the rest of the critters were fully functioning animatronics with eye, mouth, arm, and leg movements.
Exactly who the tf thought VQ WAS A GOOD IDEA when it closes to people who didn't board due to breakdowns
The re-theme was inspired not by creative ingenuity but by a political fetish. Beyond that, the use of widescreens, grocery-store-type murals/signage & fewer audioanimantronics make it second-rate, more Six Flags than classic Disney. Even technically the ride is apparently hack. The mechanics/electronics (different from those used in the 1990's ride) are said to be susceptible to malfunctioning in the warm, humid condition of the former Splash building.
“This is something they would build in Asia” i mean it makes sense but out of context…
0:05 just to let people know that's not Tiana's. I haven't heard of a log flume sink yet for the rethemed ride(if there was, tell me please i wanna know lol). That was when it was still Splash Mountain actually. I've seen the full photo and it was Still the Splash theme. Sorry I just wanted to make sure there was no spread of misinformation.
