I was angry at the end of the movie - frustrating really ! Un-relatable characters. I had no sympathy for anyone of them. It was a shitty and pointless, an hopeless struggle to teach people to avoid divorce! Like Everyone in the world must put up with shitty things in life just to save a f'ed up marriage !
I kept waiting for 'something' to happen. Boring and Ben-again-played a wooden character, while Melinda's only 'real charms' was her sexuality. Talk about being 'whipped!' He was a punchline in the neighborhood and Wow! What parties that neighborhood has! If everyone gets drunk and does stupid things every weekend-I want to live in suburbia too! Although the child was portrayed as a 'cute and sassy child' she was really just an ignored daughter who deeply despised the mother that ignores and openly resents her. I saw nothing really 'tense' or 'good.'

The ridiculous plot and characters of the movie are irrelevant, you can just tune out. The whole point of this movie is to make guys drool at Ana de Armas in sexy tight black and red clothes. THAT'S IT.

This was a complete disappointment. I heard a lot of buzz about this movie and was so excited to watch it. I'm glad I didn't look at the reviews before, because I would have gone into it let-down. But there was so much wrong with this movie from a directorial-perspective. There was absolutely no suspense or mystery around Ben Afleck's character. They jingle around whether or not he was responsible for the missing guy's death. Then they show him killing the second guy (and it was completely obvious as he was the last guy in the pool with him), which kills any suspense as to whether he's involved in the first death. It doesn't make sense from a plot how he is seemingly ok with what his wife is doing and then he flips out. Just a bad movie with no suspense or "thriller" elements.

Interesting movie. I think some parts are well done and then some parts are just clumsy especially the ending. The way she goes from one guy affair after the previous one dies is very odd. I did not get her motivation. One scene she accuses her husband of being a killer then 20 mins later she’s all lovey dovey. The ending bike chasing car sequence was just plain laughable.

This movies was a letdown, even part of the teaser trailer was cut off from the film lmfao. The film was a joke and waste of time, this was a simple paycheck for all actors involved.
If it had focused on an open relationship with boundaries. But a couple of men overstepped the boundaries and Vic had to scold them and they still didn't listen, so he takes them out it would have been a far better movie.
For a brief moment I thought it would be a nice twist if the friends and neighbors were killing the "friends" because Vic seemed to be the center of attention in their froups and he was rich so maybe invedted in the community.
But nope gave that awful final scene with the wanna be nosey a$$ Don. Didnt even get a double tap scene smdh

By the end I was on my phone & annoyed. I had high hopes. It could have been a good movie but it was such a mess & the wife's character was so unlikeable.

You are so right ! I don't even understand why the ending was good ! non-sense ! total BS! Everything just work out for him to keep his marriage ! Pretty much a very weird and un-relatable way of teaching people that do whatever the f it takes to save your f'ed up marriage even if it takes having you spouse f around with other and you killing others to save your f'ed up marriage. I support divorce 100% after watching this non-sense movie
The ending was the worst part for me
5:30 you describe it yourself right here. Coming from a toxic relationship myself through four years heavily based on control, surveillance 24/7 with gps and car tracking and deciding who I saw and spoke to and friends to cut, I can assure you that all these non rational thought occur, and it’s tempting. You’re tempted. And that’s just normal, don’t you worry. People can cross your line every day in life, but never cross it yourself. That’s where it gets dark. Peace.

Ana De Armas and Ben Affleck play two of the most annoying characters ever in this movie, I hated them both. This movie sucked.
Big fan of Affleck & De Armas and the trailer looked good so I was intrigued. Unfortunate to hear it’s a mixed bag but I’ll still check it out this weekend on Hulu.

Ana's character was terrible, yet I found her so magnetic and even charismatic especially when they're at parties.
I have a book vs movie comparison and yeah the endings are so different. I had a hard time deciding which ending I preferred.
I liked the movie more than i thought and was engaged the whole time.

The movie could have been great IF it was more realistic! So many things happening that are very unnatural reactions. So much did not make any sense that I felt it was stupid. For example the police didn't look any further into anything especially after the accusations??? Come on! And even in an open relationship, you should not have one of your lovers at a party that your spouse is at with all his friends! Many more examples but I don't want to say to much for those who have not watched it yet!

Ben Affleck was like cardboard. I’m sorry. She was acting circles around him.
I knew I was going to be in the minority of people that liked this movie. Romantic thrillers BARELY do well critically. I really enjoyed Ben Affleck in this movie, something about the way he looks in so many scenes really makes you anxious about what he's going to do to certain people. I think he does a good job selling the quiet, psychotic husband with a lot of anger in it. I think Ana de Armes is SERVICEABLE most of the movie. Her acting can sound kinda wooden at times but I think she does good in some of the emotionally distraught scenes. I think the movie kept me pulled in by really playing up the toxicness of the marriage making me intrigued about how things will end between them. yeah there's a lot of scenes that can feel repetitive and boring but I think it helped me get a sense of the husband's POV on his relationship with his wife and daughter. This movie is basically Gone girl in reverse with a little bit of Dexter mixed in. I don't justify Ben Affleck's actions in this movie, but I fully understand them. There's a certain shot in this movie I really liked where the husband and wife are being split apart by the kitchen wall. I think this movie will definitely be critically panned for it's frustrating story choices but I still enjoyed it. I'd give it a 7.9/10 or a B -.
the thing is, they labeled it "erotic thriller" which let down so many erotic film lovers expecting it to be like the film 365 days
I can understand that you feel different about it that's what art is about. I personally would rather watch a film like Natural Born Killers if I want to see a film about a couple who are sociopaths. This just had some serious writing issues where the characters just don't make any sense with a lot of other problems with tonal shifts in editing. I really feel like it had potential to be a lot more interesting but this didn't work. Acting, production, music, and a lot more where top notch but a when the characters are suppose to live within the real world then they must feel real to the audience. This husband and wife are obsessive sociopaths. Just the idea that the would have empathy to raise a kid where she wasn't already an emotional trainwreck makes it hard to see them being real. Gone Girl was awesome and me and my wife love that one with it easily becoming a classic in this kind of genere this wasn't close in writing when Gone Girl was for me personally. Feel free to have your opinions this I think might explain why some people like me prefer better writing in a film. Everybody is their own critic in the end. Had this got the writing better I could have seen this being bigger than Gone Girl.

Ben Affleck could have just F"ck Don's my Wife. That's just very irritating to me and frustrated. And yeah Ben Affleck character gets really irritating.
I just watched this and I had to know if it was just me that didn't care for this film at all. After seeing the majority of the public's criticism on an average not liking it either it's good to know that I'm not alone. So much about this film didn't work for me on a personal level. I will take a film like Natural Born Killers over this anyday when it comes to a thriller that deals with a couple that are total sociopaths. So much about this had potential but you can't look past actual good writing. These characters didn't even make sense when you really grasp how really sociopaths don't feel empathy but anything/anyone can become an obsession. These don't seem like people who would be in the real world at all which takes me out of this entirely personally.
I want to tell the director of this movie that his attempt to teach people to save their f'ed marriage and avoid divorce was a total failure!
After seeing the movie, I felt like I'd just wasted two precious hours of my life... Very boring, lack of suspense, too predictable, weak/lazy storyline, very unrealistic...
Even when concrete evidence is unavailable, the Nigerian police would never let a murder suspect off the hook so easily, let alone the FBI... No surveillance howsoever...
This is definitely the worst movie I've seen in years.

Wow, was this movie terrible. The movie didn’t know where it was going, where it was at times, and where it ended up. My god SO bad. I had no idea why we were always at their house. I hated the over-sexualization. I hated how there was zero character development…who are these people? How are they all related? The chase scene… oh come ON!
And the snails… what the f*ck’s the deal with the snails? They are introduced and then nothing. But hey, at least the dog didn’t die!

Sorry, but I thought it was a gem of a movie. We was mesmerised the first five minutes and paused it when making ourselves a cup of tea. Now that says a lot.
This was one of the most dumbest movies I’ve ever seen!! I just knew if I googled this after watching it I was gunna see negative reviews. I’m so mad I wasted a “movie night” on this.
I was waiting for something to happen but nothing did… no twist… and the plot was dumb af… I thought something was going to happen with the snails but nothing… I thought there was gunna be a twist and him trying to frame her for the murders but nothing… I thought he was gunna get catch.. but once again nothing.
This movie had no closure and the plot was terrible. It had so much potential to be good but flopped!!! They dragged on her affairs and ran outta time to come to a conclusion… then just wrapped it up and rushed the end with no closure… I wish I would of read reviews before to save myself the time of watching it… terrible… Just terrible… zero stars 👎🏼
