You can almost hear Pauls teeth gritting while talking about the Redeemer
I was just about to say the same thing. 😆When he said "fan-favorite Redeemer" he sounded like he was in pain lol. CIG, I think what Paul is hinting at is that he wants a second Redeemer for his account. One just isn't enough.
He just can’t contain his excitement for his favorite ship.
Top tier morning coffee enjoyment video - thank you! Some of my favourites covered too - M2 Herc, Vulcan, Crucible and Hammerhead...
These videos are so fucking good, I hope that CIG highlights your content more in the future when they begin incorporating more of the lore into the game
I'm glad you found a way to fit the Redeemer into yet another video.
I have always felt that the Ship Classes needed a Realignment. It could easily be done in lore, with the Javelin becoming a Light Cruiser "CL", the Idris M becoming a Destroyer Leader "DDL", the Idris P a Straight "DD" Destroyer, and the Idris equipped with the "K" Kits as Destroyer Escorts "DDE", With others being realigned as needed as well.
My Perseus can’t come soon enough.
Just imagine sitting on the bridge watching the big cannons go off
I kind of wish they would say that the Redeemer was actually some other companies design that went bankrupt and they bought it and just continued it
It honestly feels more like a MISC design that predates the Xi'an technology exchange agreement
@@jonny_vdv Its a double decker Vanguard, what's the problem?
The apollo looks so incredibly sexy, i wish we had a version that would work as a daily driver
I 2nd that
Hearing the numbers for the Hull series is still mind-boggling. The resource/cargo missions are going to be absurd for those guys.
Honored by the mention in the video. Just a clarification, I was not comparing SC ships to real-world ships. The term capital ship stems from the naval treaties of the early 20th century. It was used to designate the premier ships of a navy. Traditionally the term was reserved for battleships and battlecruisers; more recently fleet carriers and ballistic missile submarines are also counted as capital ships.
The term corvette is conversely used to designate the least important ship that can still be classified as a ship. If I had to make a comparison I would not make a real-world comparison but an in-universe comparison. A Bengal fleet carrier is what epitomizes the term capital ship. A Polaris on the other hand is still a significant ship, just clearly not a capital ship.
In the universe of Star Citizen the Corvette class seems to be a capital grade ship that is not typically involved in fleet formations, it's main role being patrol and system defense. The original Idris was designed as a Corvette, even in lore, and when it ballooned in size it was reclassified as a Frigate which seems to be a duel role capital ship designed for system defense as well as destroyer escort/picket duties.
In the universe of Star Citizen the Polaris is in fact a capital ship as any ship with grade 4 parts and above are capital class, which means that even the Hull D and the Reclaimer are Capital Ships. This is likely due to 'capital class' being an early designation for ships which could carry energy shields.
Really enjoyed this, SC has a wealth of well written lore and your channel delivers it to us in an entertaining way.
Another fantastic video Paul! Thank you for this incredible effort
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your videos and dedication! Keep it up man!
Having the goal of buying the Valkyrie in-game was a big part of me falling in love with SC. Naturally I never got it in-game as I'm impatient but hay, I can always melt it for something else, hehe. Thanks for another informative lesson Paul o7.
Great overview!
And again, another excellent video, I love the format and the information. Please don't stop
Fan fav Redeemer gunship xD Good one 😂
Very enjoyable - you have a real knack for putting the info together in new and interesting ways o7
Great video Paul!
Awesome Paul! Thanks
Very nice job Paul.
Wasn't when the Perseus was announced the lore said something about that Perseus just being for the civilian market whereas the military was getting a Perseus II or something like that (basically a new modern ship built to fulfill the same role that the old Perseus did).
Absolutely love these videos thank you so much and keep them coming 😃
This was a great video. Id love to know more about starlift command and how it breaks down into groups
Always love these.
Great video as always, need more info on the Perseus
Wow, out the gate quoting Omar Bradley. Kudos!
Again! A very good video 👌🏻💪🏻😎
Thanks! Fun Overview
Interesting, I’d always heard it as, “amateurs study tactics, professionals study logistics”
That is the quote from Nepoleon, but there have been similar quotes through history
Thanks for the video Paul. I am one of the Perseus fans. Can't wait to see it in action.
Great info 🤘
Nice. Thx Paul. Percy FTW!! :)
I wish, CIG could produce this kind of information about the game.
The Browning M2 is a very good machine gun. Just like the M1911 is a very good pistol still preferred by many spec ops. Sometimes a design is so good that it stands the test of time. Even with upgrades the B-52 is still flying, since the 1950s albeit updated for todays warfare. The UEE being a declining empire is new to me so a video would be nice. But I still think technology brought forth by civilian corporations would be cutting edge but more software than hardware based
Babe wake up AH just dropped some lore
I personally apologize to all the significant others who have been forced to watch my content by their partners.
The pain in your voice during the intro for the Redeemer was palpable.
Not really related to the video, but when there are changes to lore or new ships released, do you ever re do videos or create a sequel?
Haven't yet but I do indeed intend to do them when there is a significant enough change or a significant enough time.
Good to know! I look forward to them
When I saw that hauler well it was jump got got pulled out of quantum into a big battle
Top tier SC content.
14:22 would love to see this starfarer cargo conversion in-game.
Love the Valkyrie. I hope they do a variant of it, I have no use for it as a drop ship.
Where are the "links in the description" which you promised at the end of the intro section? :p
The saying is: tactics is for amateurs, logistics is for professionals.
It's an old saying said in hundreds of languages over centuries.
I think it would be cool if you did this series for the vanduul and the banu
Like their ships?
@@TheAstroHistorian yes, i do not know a lot about their ships other than a couple of the old trailers like the one for the driller
I have done a few mentions here and there but I will for sure do a 'Know Your Foe' for the Vanduul when we get closer to SQ 42.
Great overview! But what about my Liberator pocket carrier?!
Toyed with adding it but the description states it's a civilian ship
@@TheAstroHistorian I guess I didn't realize that. TY for all your work
As much as I love the legionnaire being here, it feels a little out of place as it's hardly a sub-capital class. It should be able to fit in the Polaris corvette with its current specs, which is why I bought one to use with my cap ship.
It's a medium ship that isn't a fighter or bomber
What about the c2?
C2 is a civilian modification of the Military M2 so the military doesn't use them AFAIK.
@@TheAstroHistorian are they still good ships?
Also I mite be wrong but I think c2s served in operation sword of hope
They are ok, in lore they are well liked. Operation Sword of Hope was spearheaded by Crusader Industries themselves, a kind of NGO operation. The navy may have supported them, but the C2's hauling relief supplies were privately owned by Crusader through their "Crusader Cares" Foundation.
@@TheAstroHistorian okk thx!
god i wish perseus can come out as soon as possible
i got a complete ccu chain already waiting for the release
Yeah an dying empire using very old equipment is very realistic, just look at the US. There is families where 3 generations of men were pilots on the SAME B-52
Yeah! And it gets even worse with Naval vessels. Russia for example has a ship that has seen service in the imperial-czarist navy, the revolution, two world wars, service in the СССР-Navy, the counter revolution, its fallout, and continues to serve, to this day in the ranks of the Russian Federation's Navy! Wild! You could say, we have come full circle XD.
The US would not be a good example of this since they're still developing new tech while most militaries have stagnated and are dependent on buying US tech. The B-52 hasn't been replaced because there's been no need. For contemporary enemies that's why they're building a new bomber the B-21 (replacing the B-2 which amd b-1) so the bomber scene in the US is still advancing. Seems like you thought you'd throw in a random anti US comment with extreme levels of copium. Odd since this is a fiction based game just for fun and you tried to make a comparison to reflect your personal beliefs.
I found the butt hurt merican!
The UEE is also developing new bombers, the A1 Spirit being an example, whilst being in decline, or so the lore makers say, which means nothing, considering how unrealistic and dated SC lore is, as a relic of the Neo-Liberal era. Who would have thunk that privatizing everything will only really benefit those that already own the most?! Unlike in SC of course, where the privatization of whole star systems is a good thing, and all these monopolies unfuck the government's screw-ups. I do agree that developing or not developing, having a bloated military budget or not, is not necessarily a sign of decline though. Having the elderly as your presidential candidates is, imo! :D

redeemer is just so ugly, i hate it as a ship because it flies totally in the face of any other design in the game it really does not belong.
It’s awesome, shaped like an Orca…
@@pheebs8451 i wish it was. its so stupid ship compared to others that have silly limitations, and this shit bucket gets everything
First kinda
So, it wasn't until the 2800s that humanity finally came up with a cargo ship? That just doesn't make sense. in the real world as soon as any company or nation comes up with FTL or any of the tech in SC I assure you...we would be making ships waaay bigger and far sooner than what is presented in the lore.
Naw they had cargo ships but the manufacturers of the cargo ships before 2800 were either shut down or too old. I did an entire video on this called the Cargo Crisis.
@@TheAstroHistorian okay I see, thanks for clarifying.

Seen this exact comment on 5 different channels this week, did zoomers just discover this meme?
Guess I'll Die Then.
Imagine prioritizing ship development over basic game mechanics/optimizations for literal years. Stop making ships and release your game. This predatory marketing is scummy.
