I'm very proud to say that I was one of the one's that voted for Will and there isn't a moment where i regret that!! Look how far Wil has gone, I am so glad that he has made it this far and i hope for him to make it so much further!!!!

I love Will Young’s Voice! It’s just Magic!! So Unique!! He was my Favourite from the Start! So Glad he Won!!! Simon and Pete Waterman always wanted Gareth to Win... But they forget... The public always decides...Will always did his own thing career wise! Glad Simon didn’t get to ruin him... like he did with Steve Brookstein! Will knew to go his own way.... and still has a career now! How wrong were The Judges on this!

Not sure what Pete and Simon were listening to, but IMO, Will was MILES ahead in the game, every single week. We were so relieved when he won because it was obvious he was the more talented by far, but there was also some obvious bias going on, probably with a view to churning out another generic, shiny, manufactured "star". Will's staying power after 21 years is testament to the fact that he was always the true talent on that show. Bravo Will!

I always thought that There Must Be An Angel was absolutely outstanding, especially as he did his own version.
I could never stand the Bee Gees so I didn't like Night Fever at the time, but Will's performance grew on me over time.

I don't want to cry watching this show, I am just enjoying the song. I swear to god the xfactor create drama so you will vote with your emotions. My dog died please vote. I know what they are doing but I always cry. Lol. This is alot better, it's just about the music.

I'm happy you discovered Will! At this moment he's taking time out from recording and is starring as the EmCee in the musical Cabaret. It's touring around the UK.

Yes, October 2020. Just watched Mrs Henderson Presents, saw Will and wanted to relive the fun and excitement of the very first season of Pop Idol. (Wish the entire series was available. )
I was lucky enough to be living in England when this premiered and it was so damned much fun! Will was our favorite from day one and so glad he won! Ant and Dec are so great at being adorable and I still watch old episodes of BGT just to see them.
It's so sad to see the way subsequent shows have degenerated into the sludge that we have now: AGT, American Idol (ugh), etc. These first seasons of Pop Idol (and all of the Britain's Got Talent shows) have got a camaraderie and a warmth and genuineness that is entirely missing on these types of shows in the US.

What is wrong with judges. They seems not to know the audience. They are what counts.
Simon has really mellowed, and he's obviously much happier now. He looks positively haunted on parts of this clip. Great business man but history shows he can talk rubbish like everyone else. Nice one Will.
I think becoming a father is partially responsible for that. They say that his son and his son's mother have TAMED Simon.
Back at this time, Simon didn't want to have kids. He was basically married to his career and people like that tend to be very ruthless.
