It's a bugger walking backwards though, isn't it?
A late mate of mine, Marholm Savage. Saw me firing at Bala,
one day, in the 1990s, and asked if he could have a footplate ride to the water tower. He did get his ride and was taking pictures at the tower....walking backwards into the hot cinders and clinker I'd just thrown out of the firebox!
He asked if there was a chance of a lift back to thr platform, I said "Yes, but you will have to put the fire out on your shoe first"!!! Brand new Doc Martin shoes with flames off one of the soles!!!
