"God Complex" holy shit
KreationKills I can't wait to hear it!! lol I'm just waiting for it in sheer suspense!
Intro to the song so loud it throws you 3 years into the future.
This came out almost 5 years ago and still sounds new.
This is still far and away my favorite Perturbator album precisely because the *textures* feel so innovative, even compared to his new album. This sound is exactly what I need, and I kinda wish he ran with it more.
@@SJDvalientes Honestly, I think this album fed into the work that he did with Johannes Persson on the Final Light record - it's monolithic!
@@SJDvalientes This has a different vibe compared to the new album, which i really like also. By the way,I listen to both of them when i want to listen to Perturbator

I’ve never been a black metal enthusiast but at least now after his most recent one I’m more tolerant towards those hoarse screams
this album actually aged extremely well

Meta Not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need.
Thank you!
Meta YES!!!! Thank you
Thx fam
My nigra.
Tainted Empire: oh my fucking god! Nobody was ready for this shit!
The intro of this track hits like a fucking truck.
Thanks for pointing that out good call.
that's why im here
First Perturbator's album with no girls at the cover
Finally! I can listen to him in public now!
Wait, Nocturne City didn't have girls on the cover...
+VirtualOwn13 Arrgh I've been thwarted! You are indeed correct, I could have been listening to Nocturne City all along.
Lol hey I'm proud of that chicks big fat ass on DD. More coushin for the pushin.
The beginning of his demise :(
I am perturbed.

Masturbated
I was just masturbed.
Unreal, that intro to 'Corrupted by Design' 20:22 is absolutely outstanding!
Yeah that intro is heavy as SHIT. So fucking awesome.
I keep coming back to it and it’s like the first time every time
it gives me a serious acid flashback to when I first listened to the song.
This is the most forward thinking, boundary pushing, ground breaking release in synthwave for years
Synthwave is stagnated and dead. This is something far more beyond than that.
Yeah it's got a stronger industrial electro/techno feel, some 00's style raw electro basses mixed with 90's style techno beats but an underlying retro electronic feel towards cinematic Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield or John Carpenter feel.
Definitely relying less on synthwave peers for inspiration and it seems to have really pushed his sound forward with every release. His general interest in metal and rock and less electronic genres has definitely helped him create an iconic sound.
Ultimately, since it's such a loose term anyway I'd still call this darkwave like his previous works The Uncanny Valley and Dangerous Days because even though it's far beyond the synthpop feel of many non-Blood Music artists it's definitely got a strong retro theme just of different genres and time periods. Also it's heavy cyberpunk aesthetic and atmosphere helps it fit the darksynth community perfectly.
Honestly my interest in new synthwave was dying through the first half of the year with some underwhelming Lazerhawk releases and a decent but not mindblowingly innovative Com Truise album making 2017 nothing compared to the amazing year for music that was 2016. Then this was announced, and now the amazing sounding Dan Terminus album and damn I'm back to listening to synthwave daily.
Synthwave is entering a period of stagnation, 80's electronic wasn't as bland and predictable as the synthwave scene is now. Where's the Human League - Being Boiled or New Order - Blue Monday type vibes? It's all predictable nostalgia/hotline Miami vibe which I live but it's being done to death.
I love this label for what it's artists are doing for the scene, the synthwave movement is just picking up mainstream heat, let's not let it die before it gets there
This should be the music for neuromancer, or at least hotline miami 3
Matt Turner there will not be a hotline Miami 3
Perturbator is fast proving to be one of the premiere voices in synthwave. In a genre that's felt increasingly stunted by those who see it as nothing more than an emulation of 80's visuals and sounds (which definitely aren't bad things if done well), his work has expanded upon this definition and raised the bar. The future of synthwave depends on artists who display this kind of stylistic individualism and exploration, and I can't wait to hear more from him.
I am glad you like his work, but seriously, get a grip. He's been the best for years now.
I am also new but I was able to ascertain this truth lol
Pertubator is great, definately producing the sounds I want to hear but I don't think synthwave depends on any groups or persons. The music will die and be reborn like all genres.
we need more future in our retro-future music
RED SPECTRE well said my man, well said!
It's like PERTURBATOR has been working towards making a long awaited jump to doing movie soundtracks. Every release moves closer to focusing on building an atmosphere rather than creating the catchiest beats. And he is a master at building atmosphere.
Have you heard of the high el... shit, I mean OGRE, 195 in particular? Now that is soundtrack material if I ever heard one.
Yeah man, first time listening to this I just thought about how cinematic it is. Maybe he's preparing to make the OST of Cyberpunk 2077 or something haha
Fucking this
And sounds like they excel at this.
That's also some awesome table top RPG music material.
ericv00 you mean one of the masters.
This album is a fucking masterpiece. Dark, sinister heavy in atmosphere and downright exhilarating.
It's glorious! It feels like a golden age for Dark Synth. Now Carpenter Brut just needs to hurry up with his next EP.
He got his live album out not long ago :p It's very amazing, been to 3 of his lives already, it's a different feeling than the EPs, but a fucking awesome one!
Live brut is absolutely amazing , especially le perv. Only song in his lives i don't like is roller mobster cause i like it normally but live it's so loud you only hear bass
Don't forget Dan Terminus
I have yet to see Dan live, sadly. He was supposed to perform before Pert on 30th of March 2016, but had to cancel his tour a few days earlier due to unforeseen circumstances.... I have two friends who did see him before though, and they really loved it... Hope I will get to eventually as well :3
Never heard of DT. What album should I start with??
That drop at 19:00 caused my flesh to sear off, my bones to crumble and my soul to be obliterated. There is nothing left here. Nothing but Perturbator.
wasn't really much of a drop tho

Excuse me; breakdown*
Your pfp fits well with your statement
People complaining that this is "Too different" from his previous works just didn't haven't listened to it enough. This sounds far better and more technical and better produced than anything he released before. It just might take time for the songs to grow on you.
fuck man all of his shit is good yet he comes out with something better
darius romani it's wtf I'm saying dude
Ok I know many Perturbator fans will disagree, but in my opinion this is clearly the best material he has ever produced. This sounds groundbreaking.
I disagree only a bit, cuz i think Uncanny Valley is unbeatable right now, but this is soo close runner up
Yeah, well Uncanny Valley is really good there is no question about it, but Perturbators new aproach hits me really hard. The encompassing ominous atmosphere combined with the progressive style, which we have not heard from him before works really well. To be honest it works alot better than I expected, since the first time I heard Tactical Precision Array I didn't exactly know what to expect from this new EP. To be more precise, would it work or not? and it seems like it's terrific :)
I think Perturbator perfected the genre with Dangerous Days and Uncanny Valley. It makes sense to me that he would experiment more with this release.
@1shoryuken
Dangerous Days and Uncanny Valley were unmatched withing the genre. Exploring seemed reasonabl, but i rather expected change with sounds (Mby Doom2016 synths?) rather than dropic melody and color which made him stand out from simmiliar artists, for raw darkness.
1shoryuken. Well said I'm a big pertubartor fan dude love the darkness added to the retro wave synth I loved this new album great production
I think this style was foresadowed a bit on "Uncanny Valley" - Diabolus ex Machina, Assault, The Cult of 2112 were so much darker and intense than the rest of the album. I had a feeling back then, that he would explore these darker, brooding beats a lot more, but this record takes "darkness" to a whole diferrent level. Fucking amazing.
Totally agree
Heavy, industrial and dark, perfect combination.
What an amazing drop at 7:38. I'm liking the fractured and layered sounds used on parts of this album
Sounds like a helicopter and i love it
It's incredible how this guy only gets better at every single release.
Indeed
compounding talent.
i can never get over that drop at 01:20 it has truly changed my life forever. that is some dirty bass and a fantastic way to start the whole album. 10/10
I don't think I'll ever stop loving this album. It's made me feel things no other album ever has. Ever.
One of the best albums I’ve ever heard
God Complex is Perturbator's greatest work to date and I think its one of the best electronic tracks ever created. I hope this will be a beginning of a new direction for Perturbator.
Tactical Precision Disarray is easily better.
That's a fantastic EP. Those beats are more unstable than a kid on cocaine.
Wishing the best for Perturbator's futur, after 4 full albums and severals EPs, no surprise he wanted to try something new.
Alt account detected
My insides were shredded into neat little chunky bits at 19:00.
Long live the era of PERTURBATOR!!
In my opinion, best work he has ever done. Wasn't expecting it to be this dark and heavy, I love it. Hope he keeps going with this direction.
i m just discovering synthwave music... i never used to be a fan of this electric style..
but pertubator, lazerhawk , dynatron, glitch mob and carpenter brut fascinate me in a way i didnt know before
so awesome
The ending of Tainted Empire is the musical equivalent of getting your face smashed with a sledge hammer and loving every second of it

Logging on to CZcams: *is that a new perturbator album?????!!*
Clicking on this video: *GASP* **IT ISSSSSS**
Video starts: **OOOOHHHHHHMYGOD**
Every year is just deeper and deeper progression, this is a complete masterpiece.
I think this album is one of the tightest records of all time, production-wise and symphonically. I hiiiiighly recommend headphones or listening to this one in the dark while you fall asleep. This may be Pert’s finest work yet.
I really like the new dark, heavy mood of Perturbator's.
It's much more different to traditional synthwave, and it has a style of its own.
All around, great work. That was one of the most quickest, fast paced 35 minutes I've spent listening to music.
Regardless, I like where this style is going. Good change of pace, Perturbator.
literally went "OH YEAH!!!" at 15:28, never had a reaction like that before. perturbator is kicking ass!
Yeah you're cringy
I come back to this album every once in a while to feel things that no other album can make me feel.
This is the best album he ever made. Period.
Na man, Uncanny Valley
I didn't used to like this one as much but it's really grown on me and become one of my favorites
Yeah legit isn’t. Easily Uncanny Valley or Sexualizer EP. Dumb fuck.
@@alpha1beta1gamma thank you for saying this, uncanny valley is no doubt his best
Sexualizer (which may or may not count, as it isn't full length), but definitely tied with Uncanny. When the synth trend has long been abandoned, those two albums will still be great. This album is great too but it isn't as good.
Odin approved. This album is nuanced, cohesive, powerful, and dark. Truly a transcendent album for the genre and an instant classic. Worthy of many listens with good headphones.
seeing him on concert was.....truly unbelievable. i can never forget how good and ridiculously great the show was.
Great work by the Dark Lord! Love this new direction a lot. Very deep and cinematic. Not just dancefloor bangers (not that there's something wrong with those).
D... daddy?
Don't think anyone can argue how good this is when another great artist compliments it.
Timecop is the cats pajamas
Don't think that the other works were just dance floor bangers neither , I am the night is amazing
I need to listen to I Am The Night. Both Dangerous Days, and The Uncanny Valley are fucking gold. Love the work done by Perturbator. When I have DJs play it at clubs people go bonkers.
So, first listen impressions:
This does NOT pass the "car test" i.e. make you feel you want drive to the end of nowhere until forever or drive your car with unwise speed that could possibly result in a crash.
HAVING SAID THAT, this is moody, ambient and sad AF! Production is off the charts, at so many places there are "layers" to the instruments, leaving the impression that the whole thing is somehow alive, it "breaths". At other moments there's so much "space" with some weeping synth parts that invoke so much sadness. And then you got all the industrial-like "horn" sounds, commanding your attention, sidetracking everything else. For the few parts that ol' daddy P. raises the bpms, it's seer magic from the past. It's unfortunate that these parts don't really last for long.
It is what it is, certainly unique, but probably not for everyone. Other synthwave producers though, take note: the production of this EP is STELLAR, there's lots to learn here.
Weird, I thought it did pass the car test. Maybe you didn't run over any pedestrians and never had a police car cordon on your tail?
Gustaw Furnace I concur, passed the car test for me
If you ever have a chance to go see him live, do it. Hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. Excellent release.
Light show is intense and drummer is devoted af
Saw him last night.
What a goddamn experience
Saw him twice and will again when i get the chance! Might be the best concerts i've ever been to.
3 years later and he's finally coming to Oslo, Norway this thursday!! I'm so excited
@@Tundrash00 how was it ?
Great EP, very dark and grimy blasting with raw power.
I especially like those rhythm changes and the energy in Tainted Empire!
Thank the lords! This has a more old school industrial dark-vibe feel. I love how everyone is thinking this is so different or they've never heard this type of dark electronics. Please look up old school industrial. If you want real dark, punk electronic cyberpunk feel. That's true cyberpunk-rivethead music.
He just ascended to another level with this album
"God Complex" is amazing and quite possibly the best track of the EP. in my opinion (with Vantablack coming in 2nd).
Thank you based Perturbator...
Masterful EP. Not too many naysayers either. I hear this from start to finish, and am reminded that it wasn't synthwave or hotline that really hooked me onto this genre... It was Perturbator. It was Perturbator that blew me away, and continues to do so with increasing magnitude. I'm happy to follow the Dark Lord wherever he goes from here.
15:28-20:21 - Tainted Empire slaps hard
I like Perturbator's music, for the most part. What pisses me off is that some parts are so good it's a shame they're only seconds long when it could be a full blown track. Example: 15:49
That is so true. Fucking hell man!
sprinkling majesty
I think thats the point, he leaves you wishing for more...
the songs have a lot of sounds and moments so eventually you find some sick moment that you dig but then it changes and leaves you wishing for more
This is one of the things I like better about carpenter brut. When he gets a good beat going it lasts for a long time, e.g. "youre mine" or "Roller Mobster".
@@macaron3141592653I love Roller Mobster
Wish there was an instrumental version of vantablack...
Didn't listen to any singles in order to consume this masterpiece as a whole...
Fuck it was worth it. Came tired from work, thought it would be better to drop dead, but these grim synths have returned me to the midst of the living.
Never too late to add to all the comments that this is a masterpiece
I feel very lucky to be able to listen to this
Thanks a lot James
2017, 5 years ago, damn feels like 3 :(
Perturbator. Dark lord of the synth.
7:38 favorite part
Oh yeah
Finally, the two sides unite: L'Enfant de la Forêt and Perturbator. And what a beautiful spawn it has wrought.
THIS. It's exactly that. And oh my god this is so fucking amazing
Y
Best Perturbator album
i'd love to see what kind of magic a perturbator X Gesaffelstein project could create
The first 3 tracks in particular is some epic "walk down the dark alley in Neo Tokyo with a finger on the trigger" cyberpunk shit.
7:37 - HELL!!!!
This sounds amazing and I'm extremely happy with the new direction that Perturbator is moving in. It still has his unique style, but it doesn't sound like the stereotypical synthwave that everyone's rehashing over and over again these days. I also love that he's moving away from the bright neon and cliche imagery. This new solid black-and-white theme is wonderful, and it actually makes the music feel heavier and darker.
moon bunny he's basically going the GosT route !
Werner Bottoni GosT became Satan itself
cristtian raso alcocer yeah basically ! I mean GosT is definitely the Darkest of the Synthwave !
Werner Bottoni and Surgeryhead is the second darkest
cristtian raso alcocer yup and after that someone between Carpenter Brut of Perturbator ! But What fucking Heavy album that was from Perturbator not as Dark as Unum Infernum but damn near !
That drop at 19:00 tho. What in the actual fuck.
*breakdown
Haha, yeah I guess!
That shit made death metal sound like nursery rhymes.
Thats so vantablack!
Kristoffer Witt just sounds like distorted noise to me... I'm not sure what you got out of it... Lol
Omg Tainted Empire hits so hard... love the way he redefined his music
This work is at its essence, like a painting painted on an infinite canvas at an ever more laborious pace but never able to find an end. The listener seeks and must only accept a denouement that brings him as close as possible to an intersection whose outcome is chaotic grandiloquence. A good piece of music though for a long walk under the rain through the countryside!
I love this bleaker industrial sound, it really helps set Perturbator apart from other synthwave artists and it adds emotional maturity to the synth scene overall. This is easily his most technically proficient album too, the song structures are much more interesting and complex than on his previous work, especially if you listen to the simple beats on Dangerous Days.
15:48 god damn I loved that change. I was hoping a future track following the same rhythm can be made.
Is no one noticing the Neo Tokyo reprise towards the end of New Model? Fucking bad ass way to incorporate a goodbye to the neon-soaked imagery of The Uncanny Valley.
The new direction is amazing. much more variety, and the production is sublime!
"A New Model? Let us see her then."
I dont know why Almost everybody is complaining about vantablack , its a proper perturbator Song , that lyrics just blows ur mind, and the increccendo of the rythm is just brutal , like the pulse in your throat....
One of the best in the àlbum
Is a perturbating new stuff with a new style and beats, but always in the dark side
Heil perturbator
I think people mostly are just not keen on the vocals themselves (not the lyrics per se).
Incredible! I got chills. Definitely getting this on vinyl.
Definitely into the new, darker sound.
after the new Danger and Brut releases this is exactly what I need to function as a human being.
The album synthwave needed and deserved.
OMFG...this is amazing. Totally reinvented himself true, but its like he drew new inspiration from another genre..another sound. This is like Darksynth Master Perturbator meets TOOL meets Nine inch Nails.....and I am freaking loving it. Well done, oh grand dark master of the synths!
A Nine Inch Nails/Perturbation needs to happen
This EP is literally the only good thing in my 2017 so far... Thank you Perturbator
For everyone comenting ont he "drop" at 19:00....thats not a "drop" It is a break or breakdown
I don't know what any of those terms mean.
I like sick beats, though.
@@Synathidy drop is a term used in electronic music while breakdown is a metal music term
This is an absolute masterpiece. Fucking brilliant
So's my backside.
Gelbar it’s certainly better than last albums, yet I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a Masterpiece.
100% agree. This is an exciting stage of evolution for the artist and genre.
7:38 ..... Perfect grimmy synth.
This is simply incredible. I am absolutely loving this darker vibe. I have nothing else to add.
i get chills when the first notes in Vantablack hit
Those last few tracks just take such a HEAVY dive into UNREAL!
I am LOVING this.
Takes synth and just makes it his own!
The only bad thing about this album is that it ends. I need more!
7:35 this drop gives me chills everytime.
Love how wide and big it sounds. his last album was really good, but this has ramped up a level, production and mastering-wise.
Ho wow! This is technically very sophisticated. Stunning EP.
your debut album is great!
1
He has returned, darker and more surreal as ever. God it's beautiful.
I like that his sound is evolving
I enjoy the conceptual feel this EP has. Perturbator comes through with another masterpiece.
Perturbator has grewn so much now, I'm deeply in love with this album, keep up this work of incredible quality !
This is what I live for. I have been waiting.
It's unbelievable how good this sounds and feels, man! :O Loving every moment!
So glad I ordered my splatter paint vinyl copy of this before it sold out. Amazing album from start to finish. I have a hard time describing how much this is my jam. The word "Dude", overly-emphasized, would be used a lot.
God damn. This is amazing. I think this might be the best Perturbator album so far. Love it!
I remember listening to this album the first time when it came out. It was an amazing experience. I was delighted when all tracks were played in a following concert.
That's a few years ago now, but still one of my favorite albums of all times. I can feel so many nuances at the same time with great intensity and various visuals, it's divine.
Always progressing. That's my ninja perturbator!
If Pertubator doesn't make an appearance in Cyberpunk 2077's soundtrack i'm gonna be mad, this album would be perfect for that universe, the perfect amount of progressiveness along all tracks
Perturbator would fit right in. Cyberpunk 2077... Needs Artists like Perturbator, Lazerpunk, and Carpenter Brut!!! Apex Legends, have new events going on right NOW, and the new music for it sounds like Perturbator may have dropped some DopE sounds for it! XD
I needed this today. Absolutely amazing.
One of my favorite Perturbator albums. Discovered Perturbator 4 months ago and been using the albums for cycling workouts. It's pretty much the best cycling music I have found.
