Heartbreaking for Narvaez...hero effort!
Thought I'd learned as many times as I've seen it happen, but surprised how gutted I was for him.
Just heartbreaking, you could tell the spectators were for him. đđ
Sucks but POG just returned the favor from Stage 1. He was going to win until POG spiced up the chasing group.
He already has his victory at the Giro, so he's in a comfortable position to gamble here. Don't pity him.
I really thought he was going to make it.
The commentator is what Im here for... Who else agrees? He could even comment golf đđđ
commentator (rob hatch) is a complete tool, yes the racing is exciting but for christs sake calm the fu#k down
@@bonvoyage5377 You're having a laugh mate. Rob Hatch is a GREAT commentator. Articulate, interesting, informed and informative. One of the best....
Rob Hatch can pronounce names in other languages, and never misses an opportunity to show off, probably his most annoying quality. Maybe just keep speaking in English since that is what he is paid to do.
@@bonvoyage5377 funny thing is that this isnt even Rob Hatch. Maybe youre the tool here
100% I love it!
Caught 10m out. Heartbreaking.
That hurts
Absolutely. Seen it happen hundreds of times, but this one left me gutted more than happy for the Dutchman.
@roughcutguitars i wish he had the legs to get outta the saddle..podium at leastđ€·ââïž
haha Pogacar is so strong its just insaneđ€Ł The goat.
The goat the goat
Yeah again like to covi once he cooked now Rui oliveira
The Giro is long. The guy is really really good and strong but this is the right way to lose. I would keep the gas for the last stages even if now he feels like a god.
@@francescob213 but he is not Simon Yates from 2018, to lose that much in the final week
The goat of dope! Idiots!
Pogacar is such a beast. Unbelievable
Zone2 ride
Pointless waste of energy by Pog, if he continues to do this it proves he's not a strategic grand tour rider, who on his team was he riding for? Oh and if he rides into the back of a sprint crash that could be a problem for his challenge...whose got the biggest...
Was the best lead out man here,..
â@@justanotherbrewer2115payback bc Narvaez stole stage 1 from.him also his teammate Molano finished 3
Pogacar knows how yo not be selfish
Beautifully narrated play by play. Hats off to you and the horses!đâ€
That's heartbreaking.
Yup he wouldâve won if POG didnât chase. POG just returned the favor from stage 1. He really wanted to start the Giro in Pink o well.
Pogacar is so much the best in this Giro he can allow himself such ( unnnecessary)effort. This lad is an extraordinary talent
He made leads out for UAE also on TdF 2021 in Yellow Jersey Nothing new.
Incredible finish
The Giro is pretty amazing this year, despite Pogi's utter dominance.
Apart from Pogi, all the winners have been from different teams, lots of winners
GC rider leading out their sprinter to the finish line đ man that's crazy, pogacar was so random.
Bora's sprint tactics again fulfilling all expectations. đ€Ł

That Bernie Eisel just doesn't do them any justice

They have a whole sprint train here but didn't bring a sprinter đ
Wow!!! That was the definition of bike racing right there!!
Those look backs from Narvaez at the end did not help him one bit
True, but...
If you ever had the lactic acid coming out of your ears with a chasing peloton looming on the horizon, you'll understand why riders look back.
Don't look back, something may be gaining on you. đČ đŽââ đŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââđŽââ
I have no words to say for Pogacar. He is the most insane cyclists that i ever witness.
It's unnatural
@@wingtip76 Why? Even as a junior, he easily won in higher categories. He is also one of the youngest TDF winners.
Insane people normally prescribed medication
hes just the goatđ
Agree â@@wingtip76
So fucking fun watching Pogi lead out his teammate

Not even a slow-mo replay? We won't be upset if the video is 1 minute longer...
Since you get rid of kirby is a complete la different story, finally enjoyable highlights and commentators on point
le pauvre Narvaez! siiii prĂšs du but!
I had 2 picks for the sprinters at this Giro. Merlier was my number one pick and I said Kooij will win 2 stages. Now that Merlier has crashed and is hurting I absolutely expect another stage win from Kooij. I saw him beat Merlier earlier this year and that was made me keep an eye on him. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with in upcoming seasons. VISMA has never been much for sprints but they will be now. They have such a strong team that they can split up their goals between GC and points classification with this lad Kooij. Brilliant bunch sprint!!!

So close for Narvaez! Hats off to him!
This was so exciting!
Wow. Amazing finish
Never see a break so close to win, only a few meters too far.
yes, I also dont remember anything in the last years that was as close. was it pog that made this difference?
@@StressKindYeah it was pog trek was done already. Pog motivated the other teams and hope was reborn.
wow...what a finish..must have been great to have watched it live
What a heartbreaking finish for Narvaezđąđą
Pogi brought the peloton to be more aggresive to catch Narvaez and it made a sensational finish,, such a great conpetitor he is to bring adrenalin not just with other racers but to the crowd,, Heartrob and Heartbreak stageđ
â@@zojazaman9272 Maglia Rosa shouldnt even be in the middle of that bunch. That was just revenge and a not so smart movement. A crash at 60 kph and Pogi goes home
That was *INSANE!!!* đ€Ż
So close!
Superb negotiating the mob by all, đespecially Milan..
Seen a ton of these. I think hardly anyone is ever rooting for the sprinter's teams. Narvaez is going to have a hard time dealing with it when he knows there were times in the run-in that he could have gone that 0.5% harder.
Payback.
Exactly he could have stood up at about 100 meters and sprinted for his life. But he remained in the drops.
@@teacherhomieg It's faster to TT on the drops without surging. It's only faster to stand if you can accelerate and "drop" people if you haven't been giving your all for the last 5 minutes.
If he could stand and sprint it would imply he wasn't giving his all for the last 3 km and saving something for the finale - but it wasn't the right thing to do here because no one else was there to share the work.
He's not a sprinter per se, so probably better for him to wind up things as fast as he can and stay as low and as smooth as possible. After the run-in, probably he would have just stalled if he tried to stand up. He just gave his all... and wasn't enough. Still chapeau.
@@tychoMX true. likely he would have blown up if he tried to stand at that point. At the limit. Hero effort.
What a fantastic finish that was....phew.
Narvaez lost power for last 40 m... It's so sad for him... Hope win in next stage:

He didn't lose power, Poggy probably pushing 1000 watts and the sprinters even more

Pogacar killed the dream
Yep, and not even for his own man. That's racing.
Pogi remember what happened in the first stage. He didnât want naverez to win again

Heartbreaker.
I assume he couldn't, but I wanted to see Narvaez out of the saddle sprinting. Heartbreak Hotel.
Yeah, when you've been off the front alone like that for so long trying to stay away from a chasing pack and win the race, your legs are on fire, so there's really nothing to be gained by trying to stand up and sprint. He was already giving everything he had.
@@lloydhlavac6807 exactly. From long-ish efforts at maximal effort (think a time trial on a course you know well), you often don't win anything by standing at the end if it's a steady high-speed finish. It just means you didn't go hard enough before and gave up some speed beforehand.
@@lloydhlavac6807 yep, stand up and blow after about three pedal strokes. Did it yesterday.
Heartbreak for Narvaez
Broken heart. Very exciting, but also sad.
That has to hurt.
Narvaez would likely not have been caught if Pogi hadnât lit the fire of the chaseâŠ
Why do they only show that speed/power graphic for like 30 nanoseconds? I wanna see that shit.
They should have real time power data on screen and mic'd up riders. Make it fun to watch. Sadly, it would take the UCI a hundred years to make those changes.

What a powerful ugly sprint by Jonathan Milan.
Why didnât Narvaez stand up & sprint for his life those last 50 meters?? He had a fighting chance. Just stayed on the drops like it was inevitable for him to be caught. Too bad. Maybe he was spent?? Tough way to not win the stage.
Cycling can be a cruel sport đą
i wonder if there is any other sport where fans regularly tune in just to catch the last 15 seconds ?
NBA Basketball.
But most cycling fans will tune in for the last hour depending on the stage, or watch the entire broadcasted portion if it's a one-day classic.
I just keep it on in the background and enjoy the scenery while Iâm cooking or whatever. And then watch the last hour more intensively
Johnny đą
El deporte mas bonito de el mundo te puede romper el corazĂłn!!!!!!!!
Cheh narvaez
I donât know much about cycling but why Narvaez doesnât stand up on his bike at 4:43 and sprints like crazy??? Couldnât it give him a few more meters ?
I was also unsure about that passiveness. Like dude just give it a 110% and stand up, but maybe there was just nothing left in the tank for it...
He was at the limit on that effort for a few km's already. If he stood up,he wouldn't last a second.
He gave absolutely everything he hadâŠ
pogi doesnât want jonatan narves to win kkkk
Enough with the biased pro Aussie commentating.. neither two sprinters factored in this stage and that's all they focused on. You don't hear Sean Kelly talking incessantly about the Irish riders so let's just keep the coverage even and show all the riders the respect and attention they deserve.
Caled Who'en
Thank fuck Milan didnât win , watching him sprint is just painful to watch
Si no es por poggy, no le llegan a NarvĂĄez
It's a race between the Giro coverage and Eurosport coverage to see who can do the worst coverage. These clowns make NBC look great.
So much hyperbole for stages that don't amount to anything.
đą
đ
Great tour, but I am certainly not enjoying the manner in which Orla leads the discussions during coverage on Eurosport. Her lack of a cycling background is very evident. She does most of the talking, when I would like to hear more from the other presenters who clearly have better insights and commentary.
Omg đđ
Only 20-10m and win
This is good for gc. Pogi never learn, he burning too many matches on the first week. G will shine on the 3rd week and hopefully Dani too! lezgo!đȘ

Mark it down in your notebooks folks... 1 more day of wasted energy by Pogacar. The Giro is relentless in the third week. Many an invincible rider has succumbed in the last few days of the Giro.
Check your notebook. Tomorrow is a rest day đ
