There might be exceptions(like"du badest") but often, when using the "du"-form, you cut off the infinitive verb before the last vocal (e.g. "tanzen" is cut off at "z") and then you add the "-st". Examples: tanzen- du tanzt, lesen- du liest, machen- du machst... The most difficult part is knowing exceptions just like the mentioned "du liest". In this case you don't say "du lest".

In this cases where you have s, ss, ẞ, tz or z the "er" form is similar to the "du" form

I´m from Austria and in my opinion you´re doing pretty well :). Surely, there are some minor issues but I´m sure that you will be able to speak German and write in German perfectly with enough practise :)!! Keep practicing! Grüße aus Wien, du machst das sehr gut!

Everytime I see something like this I realize how extremely hard it must be to learn this language if it’s not your native language. Trotzdem denke ich, dass deutsch eine sehr besondere Sprache ist da es für viele Situationen und Zusammenhänge genau Begriffe gibt. If you want to translate those advanced German words (there are many words even most German people don’t know) the translator just give me a word which is far from describing something as exactly as the German word just because this word is not available in the English language. Allerdings kann ich es auch nur mit englisch vergleichen. Despektierlich, prädestiniert, alimentieren um ein paar Beispiele zu nennen.
