    Ganley or Nenshi. Rename the party "AND" Alberta New Democrats, then you can say YES AND

    I was at this debate - they kept cutting Nenshi off because he kept going over the clock. There was a HUGE clock on the floor facing them that ticks down to zero for each person. He kept going over so the moderator cut him off, that is literally her job.

    To those saying Jodi only talks about water - did you even listen to what she actually said? ALL industry including farming needs water. No farming, no farmers, no food. No manufacturing > no jobs. EVERYTHING is related to water. Nenshi sounds like a politician - oh wait he is! He says what he thinks people want to hear. He doesn't say how to do it.

    Haven't yet made up my mind but I'm seriously excited by these candidates and I think it's awesome 3 of the 4 candidates are women. I'm not saying that's a requirement going forward, but it warms my heart to see all of these people step up and try their hardest to get things done. Whomever takes the vote good on them, but please let's have all of these lovely people stay involved and work together to get awesome things done! 🎉🎉🎉

      Probably because they're given a certain amount of time and he tends to talk slower. It was him going over the allotted time and the moderator stepped in. Other people were interrupted too.

    I truly appreciate that we have very capable candidates to lead our provincial NDP. The future of Alberta is in desperate need of trusted, honest, inclusive and caring leadership. My wish is that each of these candidates is in the legislature working for the well being of every Albertan. My sincere gratitude to each of you for stepping forward to lead Alberta in healing, growing and positive future for Alberta!

    I vote Nenshi, half because I want ALL these people to remain as MLA's and eventually run our provincial government. Let's get Nenshi LEADING this party into the next election. He is our best bet strategically to win.
    He is a strong, fair,honest leader. He listens,asks good questions , is unafraid to shift his perspective when more and or better knowledge is presented to him.
    His experience dealing with different cultural groups needs , and different levels of government will serve us well as NDP leader and as our future Premier.
    His past success's and mistakes will guide him in future decisions and strategies. He knows how to more effectively work with all levels of government now.
    He has shown himself to be an inclusive, long-term visionary , balancing everyone's needs. Families , small business and commercial, across a city. I believe he has the greatest capacity of all these candidates to move All of Alberta, forward in positive economic and social directions.

      stick to the rules and keep within the time alotted (which was shown to the candidates on a TV screen pointed at them) and there wouldn't have been an issue.

    42:33 -- Calahoo Stonehouse says 1 in 3 Albertans are using the food bank, and no one questions it? Seriously? Don't get me wrong -- usage is up (73% from 2019 to 2022, and it's increased since then), but the Food Banks Alberta Annual Report 2022 pegged the number accessing the food bank in March 2022 at 157 000. It also said 1 in 5 Albertans experience food insecurity, but doesn't say that many are accessing their services. Facts matter, and this seemed to have been pulled out of nowhere. I welcome any good sources to corroborate her statement, but it just seems to high, and nothing I find comes close.

    Hopefully NDP organizers learned their lesson from the last debate which was poorly organized with a format that was akin to a Meet and Greet not an actual debate which was despised by not only viewers who tuned in but no doubt by the participants themselves.

    As for Nenshi, his record as Mayor of Calgary is what he will be judged by. His real record, not the air brushed record that the likes of the CBC would like to sell to us. Trust me independent media outlets and many Calgarians that lived under his Mayorship will definitely have a lot to say.

    Jodi, water and love aren't not going to pay the bills. We are still paying off billions in debt, we are trying to grow our heritage fund to the point where it is bulky enough to generate annual interest that can be relied on to help fund the AB public sector operating costs. I haven't heard a single realistic thing from Jodi about how to get the provinces finances out of the red. Perhaps if some of the folks on this stage had to live on like less than 70k per year and didn't have all the cushy advantages their MLA wages & benefits afforded them, they would be more realistic about finances.

    • @ChadOhman92
      @ChadOhman92 Před 2 měsíci +4

      you'd be shocked to know that provincial budgets share nothing in similarity to household budgets.

    • @savedrotex
      @savedrotex Před 2 měsíci

      @@ChadOhman92 that's the same garbage line that expert talking heads have been telling us about federal budgets, but guess what now, the feds are spending about the same amount they spend nationally on Healthcare transfers to the provinces now on servicing debt annually. Imagine if they hadn't foolishly been running reckless deficits every year, that money we are wasting servicing debt & enriching global lenders could have been going towards healthcare, if Alberta is not careful and we follow your line of thinking we will be in the same messed up state that Trudeau liberals together with the Singh led NDP have put us financially at the federal level. Why do you think the federal government are now trying to eliminate 5000 federal public service jobs? The idiotic liberals now realize that they have spent the cupboard bare. Albertans outside of Edmonton don't want to replicate that federal mess in Alberta and will not want to vote for the NDP because the AB NDP foolishly supports the stupid policies of the federal liberals and NDP that have led Canada to the pitiful financial state we are in federally.
