What length are you assembling in the video? Can't decide if the 35' is sufficient or if I should go longer. Do you have videos of kids hitting in specific lengths? I think I can make the determination better if I saw that.

Hi Jay Pompano! Thanks for getting in touch! This is the 35' in the video. Unfortunately we don't have videos of kids using the different lengths, but I'll add that to the list of videos to do. Determining the length of the cage really depends on the space available, what you want to use it for, and who will be using it. If you have the space, we always recommend going bigger, especially considering this cage is not a permanent installation. In our years of selling batting cages, we have NEVER had any calls wanting to down size...unless they mis-measured their yard. We have had calls of wanting to upsize. If you'd like to utilize the cage for pitching practice as well as BP, little league pitching mounds are about 46ft from the plate, so with the 35' you might be a little cramped. I can also tell you that one of our sales people (Simon) here purchased the 55' cage for his son who used it through high school and the length was sufficient. Hope this helps. Feel free to give us a call and talk it out with our sales people.

do these last with high winds/rain and what's the ideal size for a high school player?

These will handle moderate wind speeds. It all depends on where the cage place, but we'd suggest at least taking the net down when wind speeds are upwards of 30mph. The size that we'd suggest for a high school player would be either the 55' or the 70'. Rule of thumb is go with the longest cage that you have room for and that meets your budget.

The economy model batting cages has been renamed to the Trapezoid batting cage and you can find them on our website listed under freestanding batting cages.
