Het Nederlandse televisieprogramma "Countdown" was van 1976 t/m 1993 “Europe’s Number 1 Rock Show” en werd uitgezonden bij Veronica. Later werd het programma ook uitgezonden in het buitenland en was het op z'n hoogtepunt in meer dan 20 landen op televisie te zien.
Gedurende deze 17 jaar muziekgeschiedenis zijn er opnames gemaakt met talloze internationale sterren, zoals Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, U2, The Police, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Lenny Kravitz, Depeche Mode, New Order, Whitney Houston, Duran Duran, R.E.M., Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Cure, Run DMC, Cyndi Lauper, Iron Maiden, New Kids On The Block, LL Cool J.
Uiteraard kwamen Nederlandse top-acts als Doe Maar, Andre Hazes, Herman Brood, Frank Boeijen, Spargo, Golden Earring, Time Bandits, De Dijk, De Raggende Manne, Hans de Booij, Gerard Joling, Drukwerk ook langs voor een optreden in Bussum.
Countdown werd gepresenteerd door oa Lex Harding, Erik de Zwart, Adam Curry, Simone Walraven Wessel van Diepen, Jeroen van Inkel, Rob Stenders, Simone Angel en Jasper Faber.
Het Countdown archief is vrijwel helemaal compleet en sinds 2017 eigendom van het Amerikaanse Reelin’ In The Years Productions (David Peck - reelinintheyears.com/) en Double 2 Hilversum (Jan Douwe Kroeske - www.double2bv.nl). Het archief bestaat uit meer dan 3.000 analoge mastertapes die allemaal gedigitaliseerd en gearchiveerd zijn. Tony was signed as a solo artist. The company asked him to bring in friends to pretend to be a band and Brian was lucky to have scored a role doing lead vocals well after the entire first album was written. He was paid hundreds of thousands a year but would turn up late, drunk, drugged and with foul mouth and attitude
He was demonstrably rich with a new house, Ferrari, gold chains, designer clothes fancy holidays round the world.
Each member was payed for their work singing or dancing as well as any creative input like song writing. Tony put in more work because in between albums the other guys went on break and he had to write around 40 tracks for the record label to pick out the best 13 or so
Song writing means future royalties so Tony kept making money after Brian spent all his cash but because Tony got Brian to write one track on Steam album and then one quarter of the whole Up All Night album plus Brian wrote much of the Resurrection album when Tony had left and some of his own solo album Brian got royalties too...
The only way he could be broke now is by selling his own publishing/royalties rights for a quick buck and then spending all those tens to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Brian could have done the same as Tony, avoided jewellery and designer gear , get a 4WD instead of a Ferrari and put the money into renovating old properties and then make profit when you resell the improved property but Brian won't do it.
He could tour the UK doing small gigs but he won't and he could do plumbing but he won't
He just lives on welfare and makes up defamatory stories about other people.
All Watkins wanted from Brian was to turn up on time and not promote drugs to children
Also, since 1998 Tony has been writing for other groups and solo artists constantly in his own studio 🎙️
He has never stopped working since way back around 1990 when he was initially trying for a record deal on his own
Brian doesn't do a lot of anything except complaining

They messed up the band but they were very successful selling millions of records ..
It's only Tony's rapping that is shit. He wasn't good at all. They wouldn't have been as popular if Brian didn't have a good voice.
