Technique Of The Month | September | Shallow Reaction Bites

- Bass fishing in September is all about a reaction bite from these fish. A buzzbait and a square bill crank are great ways to get them. You also cant fish too shallow this time of year. A breeze kicking across a shallow flat with some isolated wood and some shad flipping around is a great place to start!
For any of the gear I use all season long you can get it here: www.basspro.com/SearchDisplay... - Sport
I like that u keep it real even ffs is winning everything offshore u still recommending shallow cover.
Never did good with flat bill cranks, but now I realize I've never had a fast enough reel and never fished it right. I will definitely give this a try now! I love the topwater bite anyways. Thanks for the tips Ott! Love the content. Keep it going!
Give it another shot. Speed is key this time of year.
Man I love power fishing and a reaction strike and you're spot on. I think September/ October and mid spring are the best times for it. Thanks for a great video!
U explain things so well. I get a lot out of your videos! I don't comment much, but U teach me a lot. I really enjoy all your videos.
Ott, You have never failed me with your Tips and I have a club tournament this coming Sunday and I’m so happy to have several Rocco’s in good colors and those light buzzbaits will be on my spinning setup 👊😎👏👏👏
Thanks Ott for all your videos!! I have learned so much from you! May God bless you!
Great video and I truly appreciate your teachings.
Thanks Ott! Always enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Appreciate you!
Thanks for another great video full of information! Hod bless you and your family!
Ott great info. Maybe unfortunately i fish shallow all the time. Don't really know how to fish deep water for Bass. Thanks for sharing 🎣
Thank you Ott for all your help! Why not throw the buzz bait on straight braid? Also your last October tip for a white toad was a deal for me. I appreciate your knowledge and faith!
You certainly can. If you do I would use 20lb braid.
I'll be out on the Cumberland making videos tomorrow
Can you show how you trim rod handles to fit your style? And can bass pro make there cranking stick handles split grip again like they have been in the past
Appreciate your videos. I always learn a lot from you. You’re an awesome person, keep it up
How does Ott DeFoe only have 40k subs? if you aren't fishing shallow in September, might as well stay home and work on your marriage
Unless you’re on the TVA lol. Plenty of big girls out deep if they’re moving water.
Thank you!
Well, Ott's a real fisherman giving real information. Not trying to catch a bass on a stuffed animal and yelling like an idiot when they finally get one
What color braid and do you always use the same color for all spinning rods. Drop shot, shakey head?
I use yellow on all spinning applications except the rare occasion I’m not using a leader.
Love these videos, Ott. Why not just tie the buzzbait directly to your braided line? If you're reeling it fast to keep it on top, I don't think they would "see" the braided line.
You can for sure. I don’t trust the 10lb braid as well for a bait knot like I do the leader. I would use 20lb braid if going straight to it.
@@OttDeFoeFishing Thanks Ott.
What brand is the 1/4 oz buzz bait and where can I buy it?
I don’t remember to be honest. I’ve had them a while.
Why aren't you at the Nashville Preds tournament on OLD hickory. I didn't see ur name today
Mr. Defoe!!! PLEASE!!!! can we find out the name of that 1/8 oz mini Buzz Bait???!!!!
I don’t remember to be honest. I’ve had them a while.
Who makes that buzzbait?
I don’t remember to be honest. I’ve had them a while.
What knot are you tying to connect braid to fluorocarbon? Can you do a video on that?
Use a double uni knot, easy to tie an ad long as you tie it right, you won't have any issues
It’s an FG. I’ve got a couple on here showing how to tie it.
@@OttDeFoeFishing Thx Ott! Appreciate the info. I'll give it a try. God bless!
He ties an FG not. It is very complicated knot I found a double Uni knot is much easier.
Need to link the products that you are using. Put them in the video description. A direct to bass pro link would help both you and your sponsors. Just saying ott.
Sincerely,
another east trnnessee angler. Lol.
I did some a while back. I do need to do that more though.
